What I wasn't aware of that it's only on a standard room and not on the room type you necessarily book like a suite (without paying additional). This might suit some travellers but not how I travel. The value was not there. Luckily I had my 10 day cooling off period. So I rang up member services to cancel only to be told they need to send this back to the sales department and I will be called.
So I was called and tried to be re-sold the membership. I just wanted to cancel. But I was sold to and sold to, put on hold to speak to the manager etc etc. I finally put my foot down and said please cancel the membership. I was then told I had to return the card (which I hadn't received yet) and was told it would take 2-3 weeks to get the card initially. They took my money, enabled my access in about 2 hours but they wouldn't refund me until I waited to get my card and then returned it and waited for that the then cancellation to happen all the while holding onto my money. Why not just disable the account online, cancel and card and then refund the money.
Poor customer service. AVOID. Go to Intercontinental Ambassador program so much more value.

It is truly ridiculus as how do i get my booking done.

Also another promotion, $1.00 breakfast special on offer for a limited time received via email stay at same Novotel Canberra during same period, was told by staff on members line: 1300 36 36 37, can't earn x3 rewards points.
This isn't a good promotion and seems like double standards as costs of accommodation similar.

Save your money instead and look for good deals on other websites like hotels.com is what I do now. Plus they have a loyalty program that actually works as well. And if you wanted to stay at any of the Accor properties, well it’s probably cheaper than what Accor advantage card would do for you anyway!

I was told it would allow me lots of benefits at 5000 hotels world wide.
I returned to Australia and tried to use my Temp Card Number to book another trip and nothing worked.
I called Accor Plus several times and was told I had to call Bali and that Australia did not accept this membership.
I have called several times and have had no success I am very disappointed would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
I have since booked for LA and there was a Soffitel Hotel right near where I was going for 3 weeks and I elected to not go there because of this experience.
I hate to be cheated and that's exactly how I feel.

Its more trouble than isworth.Too much frustration associated with this There are much better deals that dont mess us around and waste our time

They call constantly with new offers then agree on a rate but when you are billed the rate is higher
With only your word against the caller it’s difficult to prove
So many hotels in the chain do not allow use of your free night even though staff confirm these hotels do just to get you to join
Dining benefits are good but again not available at all hotels
Overall unless you travel a lot it’s not good value

I do have an issue with the pushy sales staff thought. Each year a lady called Kerry contacts me numerous times when my membership becomes due. Every time I explain to her I will renew my card in my own time. I don't want her to call me. Today I have had 2 calls from her ,one I missed and the second I hung up on as soon as she introduced herself. She called me a couple of weeks ago and a coupl of weeks before that again. I'm not sure how much clearer I can make to her that I do not want to be called. In fact I have been quite rude during some of the calls and still they keep coming. I have today put in a complaint about this lady to Sydney where they say they will contact her manager.
This is a great program if you use it properly and I do that. I will renew again but when I am ready and online.

Yes, as other reviewers have brought up, you will occasionally receive a telemarketing call however I have found them not to be too bad.
Overall, the program is excellent value for me and I do save money!

You will not get anything like you are promised, I you want Sydney CBD you will get the cheapest and never for a night you want or location.
For trying to book the Quay area for over 6 months we were offered Manly, Wollongong and the airport.
Nor worth the money of the time spent on the computer.

When making a booking on line i picked the hotel hit book hotel and was directed to the accor central bookings. I made the booking and paid for it.
As i had not been to Novotel Swan Valley Vines Resort i googled the hotel and was on the site looking at the golf coarse, restaurants and so on. When i came across special deals. Accor charged me $252 for 1 night with breakfast. On the specials page it was $199 for 1 night with breakfast.
So i contacted accor central bookings and was told their is nothing they could do about it. I should have rang them before paying, all well and good if i had have seen this before booking.
The manager i spoke with also informed me this was the best deal at the time.
Obviously not.
This is in no way a reflection on the Novotel Swan Valley Vines Resort when speaking with Stacie from reservation she was a pleasure to deal with.

Save your money and don't bother signing up. Do not fall for the Pitch. The Irish lady was very convincing.
