We first found out about ATR through their fantastic website - found on Google. I then spoke to extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff who tailor made our group's holiday itinerary - with many amendments patiently dealt with! Their suggested country, national parks, route and accommodation were all excellent. We loved our guides, the areas we visited, the activities we undertook and the places we stayed. The wildlife we saw was spectacular. We particularly loved the wonderful Tanzanian people we met.

ATR was a joy to work with from Day 1. You never know when you're dealing with a company that you deal with solely through the internet, but ATR gained out trust from the very beginning. All of our calls and emails were responded to promptly and thoroughly. Brian, our contact, really listened to what we wanted out of our trip, and tailored our itinerary to exactly what we wanted, while staying within our stated budget. The paperwork and follow-up from ATR was clear, and the communications from them were on-time based on expectations they had set with us up-front. We were SO pleased with every segment of our trip, and were grateful that ATR put all of the pieces together for a seamless African adventure. Our drivers were where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there, ATR's website and staff gave accurate explanations of the places we were staying, and everything about the trip FAR exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful to ATR for their assistance in creating a truly unique, and life-changing honeymoon memory for us!

I had actually never worked with a travel broker/consultant before my 3 week Africa trip in 2013 but with a trip of this complexity I reached out to Africa Travel Resource and had the good fortune of working with Jay who helped engineer the trip of a lifetime. He was very patient with me through what turned out to be several weeks of planning and he had a lot of great suggestions through the process. He was able to get me a great deal on Kwando camps in the Okavango Delta as well. In the end everything went off as smooth as I could have hoped for without a single hitch. I highly recommend their services!

Once we got over the initial misunderstanding about whether we were a "group" per se, and I was the designated "group" leader, we had an excellent experience working with ATR. The trip they helped plan for the 6 of us was wonderful in every way.

ATR was such a great help in planning our 3 weeks in Tanzania. Their website is a wealth of information that you can't find anywhere else on the web. I really appreciated their up-front and honest descriptions of all of the trip options. Their customer service is also amazing. I got responses to all of my questions, usually within one day, where other vendors would take a week or more to respond.

I have to give ATR 5 stars for our entire recent trip.I found all their recommendations to be right on and felt for the value we received more than expected.We travel a great bit and this trip was by far one of the most fascinating and fun we have taken.I would recommend ATR to anybody planning a trip to Africa.

ATR first impressed us with the excellent website which is incredibly well written and is a great resource on safari in general. The staff member who worked with us to design the safari was so helpful and we were able to plan the trip in 4 days with Brian's excellent assistance.

My wife and I engaged African Travel Resource (ATR) this year to travel to South Africa, Zambia and Botswana. Our trip took place August 23, 2014 through September 6, 2014 so this trip and ATR's arrangements are very fresh in our minds. We found that making arrangements with ATR very easy and very accommodating to our needs. We communicated where we wanted to go and they sent to us 3 draft proposals for us to review. We were able to make changes and ended up with a plan and price that suited our needs. The fact that we were able to email and call both London and Grosse Point, MI toll free made itinerary planning very easy. Cudos to Jay Henley in London and Brian Blatt for their expert advice. Our itinerary included many internal flights and transfers by car, boat and bush planes. EVERY ONE of the flights and transfers were "spot on" and seamless. This was very comforting for us to know that no matter how isolated or how many transfers we needed to make, their was always someone there to greet us and get us to the right spot for the next leg of our journey. Their web sight is most helpful. Photos of lodges and camps look exactly like the ones you will be in. Their FAQ URL they sent was a wealth of information to include tips, photo tips, what to take, clothing, travel documents, and so on.

My wife and I were TOTALLY satisfied with ATR and recommend them for any one seeking good service and an authentic African experience. We rate ATR "Excellent"

ATR are amazing - we've used them 6 times now and each time their advice and selection is spot on.

The team at ATR were always quick to respond via email or phone to answer my many queries,having never travelled to Africa, my mother (80) years young was travelling with me, so together we had many questions.

I found Jay and his colleagues to be both knowledgeable and available on all things at all times. I had a lot of questions and they spent the time and effort to answer all of them. I would use them again in a heartbeat and have already suggested them to friends. No negative comments to be found here!!

My only complaint would be that I requested assistance for transfer/ day hotel in Dar at the end of our trip as we had a long layover before our flight home at 03.35. I was surprised that they were unable to offer this. Eventually I arranged this myself thro' Coastal Airways, a company that ATR had booked our local flights thro'. After arrival in Dar I am really glad that I had arrangements in place. As a company who certainly do 'go the extra mile' I was surprised that they couldn't assist me with my request. A service that I think that they should offer to complete their excellent service.
