Also they said that I should pay a 1000 dollars if I change the date because I didn't have an address. Its not possible to rent a house two months before just for a delivery date. This is inspite of their terms and conditions saying that I need to only give a 7days notice. They needed months and months notice and everything, the move was nothing but a headache and stressful. Not getting the service but headaches while paying for a service is terrible enough.I have used other removal companies before as we move a lot and never had this experience.

The movers arrived on time.
We were promised that all our mattresses will be wrapped in cover to ensure they stayed clean and hygienic during the move. THEY WERE NOT. The movers conveniently mentioned that they do not have any covers left. When they were relocated to the new property, they had dirt marks all over them.
They damaged our 40 slot shoe rack and when my wife asked them to be careful, she was told that the shoe rack had design flaws.
WORST - They damaged our $3500 fridge and did not even have the audacity to inform us. This has left us devastated because we save every penny to buy these things, pay for "professionals" to move hoping it is done correctly and still get stabbed.
Upon discussing my concerns with the "Office and Domestic Removals Manager", she conveniently sent a pre-scripted email which I am positive would be sent to a lot of their clients.
Apparently, due to hectic times, I had forgot to opt for $16 insurance on a $ 1150 job and without taking any responsibility - She just keeps shoving that on my face.
My advise to you if you have to use professional movers - Get insurance, if they don't have things they had promised, don't go ahead with them, pay certain % after the move ( unlike Allied Pickfords who want your money before so that they can neglect your issue without worrying about being paid) and lastly, Do not use them!!
Generally, I consider myself a person who tends to stay positive and optimistic in gravest of the situation but this mob just disappointed me with their fake promises, lying and concealing, talk to the wall attitude when I shared my concerns.

Really have to commend the young lady at the depot in Latrobe for her very helpful and professional advice and service. Well done!
And, naturally, the rest of the team for getting my goods delivered safely and at a reasonable cost...
I will have no hesitation using Allied Pickfords in the future.

Karen Dudding who came to measure up, was brilliant and walked me through the steps they would take in packing, transporting and storing our items. She also offered us free packing boxes and packing tape. Other companies wanted to charge extra to take items from storage to the new house but its all included with Allied!
Once we decided on Allied (which wasn't hard), we had to change uplift dates (a few times) and also review our items to be shipped, here Gina Berry was fantastic and offered all the assistance i needed.
I would highly recommend Allied Pickfords to look after you and your items to be shipped and stored..

Allied Pickfords guys came on the day and at the time agreed and loaded my stuff into a shared container. They were fast, methodical and careful.
In NSW the devastating fires were very close to us the day my gear was due to be delivered and there was no problem (or added cost) postponing delivery for a week.
I would absolutely use them again

The whole team did a fantastic job moving our belongings to our new home and the quote was extremely competitive. We happily endorse Allied Pickfords as professional, friendly and extremely helpful.

1. Our container arrived 5 days late due to a train derailment (unfortunately but understandable)
2. Consequently, we were left in a completely empty house with an 8 month old baby, 2 year old and all our worldly possessions trapped somewhere between Sydney in Melbourne
3. Given everything was packed by Allied Pickford’s we had to pay for accommodation, clothes, supplies while the container was delayed (no proactive calls from them we did all the follow up)
4. When I asked about compensation for expenses, Sydney office told me that ‘if they compensated everyone they were late for they’d go out of business’
5. Told me they only made $1200 profit from us (15% profit margin) and I should have read the contract. They are always fully protected and there’s nothing I can do
6. Wouldn’t give me any customer service numbers to escalate because ‘I just didn’t like what he had to say’ and that I should just go to fair trading if I had a problem
Further, we got Allied Pickford to move a car (sub contracted to CEVA).
1. We explained that it was a 1970’s classic car and that not everyone could drive it (don’t be silly we were told, they do this for a living).
2. When it arrived and my wife was made to sign (I wasn’t there and she is not able to drive the car) it was driven straight into the garage.
3. When I went to drive it a few days later it transpired that the handbrake had been yanked so hard the cable was stretched to the point the rear brakes were fully on.
4. When we contacted them to explain, again we were fobbed off with ‘it is mechanical damage and you signed’. Now have an un-drivable car that we need to foot the bill for repair.
Feel totally ripped off, zero care from what is meant to be an internationally recognised business. Moving is stressful these guys made it a nightmare

While my move wasnt hiccup free, I got good resolution to my problem.
Kudos to the Emerald team though - they were incredibly helpful at every step.

I'd recommend Allied Pickfords highly and I will call them up again next time I have to move elsewhere.

I called and spoke with an Allied Pickfords gentleman with an Indian accent and sent an online form separately.
He confirmed that they had a shipment container departing Sydney in the first week of March. He confirmed that there was plenty of space on that container, and that my 2 to 3 cubic meters of boxes would make this shipment. I asked him what they required from me, and he said they would send a lady to give a more accurate estimate. He said it wasn't required that she come, but it was advisable. He said that she would take care of the paperwork.
So I breathed a sigh of relief, trusting this Allied Pickfords gentleman at his word that my booking on their shipment was secure.
After the lady had come and gone, when I confirmed the shipment date, she advised that no booking had been made, and that their ship was now full, which would result in my having to wait a further 3 weeks!
To add insult to injury, [Name Removed] response reads:
"Clearly you have Allied Pickfords confused with another company."
Her records were faulted. Not only did her colleague fail to do his job, but he also appeared to have failed to capture any history of our conversations - and now [Name Removed] making wrong arrogant assumptions. Wow!

Interactions with the Move Manager in Melbourne were very challenging. My husband and I found the communication to be abrupt, confrontational, rude and aggressive. The Move Manager did not keep us updated on the status of the shipment arrival which forced us to put the item into storage which meant that we had to pay an extra "handling fee". The Move Manager also made mistakes in emails about the date that the shipment was arriving, which did not help us avoid the extra "handling charges" which we thought was already included in the large amount we already paid.
Overall the service was very unhelpful (everything was a "no") and it felt like the Move Manager was on some kind of incentive scheme to pile on extra charges.
Boxes were not removed on the same day as per the agreement and I had to make serval calls to get this resolved and I was told, "we'll pick it up sometime later in the week" which was not acceptable. The delivery staff didn't really want to unpack the boxes/furniture, they wanted to move to the next job. The basic assembly of furniture didn't happen because the delivery staff didn't have any tools.

Worse move experience we have ever had
- Perth packers dropped a TV, pretended it didn’t happen.
- Hobart unpacker didn't assemble furniture as per contract, screws, and bolts missing from beds and furniture, didn't assemble furniture as per contract.
- TV that was dropped didn’t work, three months still no resolution or offer of compensation no replies to emails.
- Truck Driver tried to back-up our steep driveway after warnings not to, tore up and destroyed the drive, no compensation or even an apology, currently taking them to the small claims court in an attempt to recover repair costs.
Tas Manager and Hobart Subcontractor are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with, complete disregard for customers.
Allied Pickford just ignores all communication at all levels and hopes the customer will just give up seeking compensation. Advice don’t use Allied Pickfords, they are anything but careful.
