AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I thought PayPal were a law unto themselves when it came to extremely poor customer service but these guys now take the award for that. Truly awful. To explain... like others I experienced my account being suspended randomly (I didn't get told as their terms state they will do, instead I had to find out trying to buy food when my card was declined). My ability to log into my account was stopped - which means no seeing my balance or any transaction history. A number of days later they inform me (after I chased them) they are closing the account instantly. Nope I wouldn't be given the balance left in my account, in stead this would be returned to the most recent senders 'in 6-10 weeks, possibly longer'. I've requested who and how much this is but they won't provide this info!! This has left me scrounging around friends and family trying to find thousands of pounds to cover my rent that they have kept hold of. As for trying to discuss any of this with their customer service.... nah! They refuse to discuss this over the phone, and IF your emails get replied to then all you can expect is copy and pasted answers which will not answer your questions. Financial Ombudsman is currently fighting my corner and compensation will be sought. I suggest anyone else who has had the unfortunate displeasure of dealing with this business to do the same. TO ADD - Just to further add, despite them saying that any attempted payments into this now closed account would be immediately declined and returned to the sender, this has NOT been the case. They have kept hold of an attempted payment made 15 days ago (a week after they closed the account) and WILL NOT answer any attempts to have them track and decline/return the payment. The sender (also a bank) has provided the tracking details for them to do this but they are simply ignoring all attempts to do this. They have now been reported to Action Fraud @ Greater Manchester Police.

Avoid like the plague. After a request for additional proof of identity I was blithely informed, before I could provide it, that they'd 'decided' to close my account and that the balance would be returned to the accounts it came from. This will, apparently, take between SIX AND TEN WEEKS, possibly longer. Their so-called customer "service" department won't discuss the issue and any emails are simply cut-and-paste non-answers. Reading other online reviews, it seems Arro make quite a habit of this - and that's IF they return the money at all. I wouldn't want to say anything libelous, but it brings to mind a word beginning with F that rhymes with 'broad'.

This company are a scam and should be avoided at all costs, my account was suspended less than 24 hours after opening - there were no transactions yet they had concerns about how the account is run. Luckily I had not transferred any money to these scammers

Made this account a day ago, my girlfriend deposited £10 into my account as a test payment now Arro are wanting to know what it’s for and have blocked my account card etc. I have wages due to be paid into this account too and they won’t unblock! Joke of a ‘bank’

Please read my other reviews of this company to see full details of how they have taken £3600 of my money and held it since 1st Nov 2018 (and still have it). I have had nothing but hell with them for over 4.5 months trying to get my money back.

The latest update:

On 11th March 2019 they informed me, multiple times in writing, that they had returned my money that they had held since 1st Nov 2018.

It is now 14 days later and not a single penny has been returned.

They are now subject to investigations by the FCA, Financial Ombudsman Service and Action Fraud. If you've experienced similar I suggest you make complaints to all three of these too.

I have had to resort to submitting a freedom on information data request to attempt to get details of my account balance when they closed it (and locked me out of my online account) & return transaction details as they refuse to provide me with this simple information.

If you're considering becoming a customer of Arro, then I'd honestly give it a second and third thought. Other challenger banks are out there with MUCH better customer reviews. Is it worth the risk of your money being held for months upon months?

EDIT - In reply to Arro's response...

This just shows you simply do not read customer queries. I am asking where my money is given you said you returned it 14 days ago. I am not asking why you closed my account.

Love my experience with Arro, they restricted my accountt one day as I used a lot of money to pay my bills, but they responded quickly to my issues via email and I’m happy to bank with them!

I have been a customer a while and I have had several of the issues that other users appear to have had- I accept that they need to verify source of money etc and the first 2 times it was inconvenient but I was happy to do this but my account has now been suspended a THIRD time it is beyond a joke I've sent my ID previously and verified the source of income and still they look for ways to stop you accessing your money

Bloody crap bank they have blocked me from accessing my account since 2018 early and this still has £1407.65 which they claim to have sent back but funny no where to be found!!! Absolute crap don't reply to any of my emails !!! i just want to get my money and they can have there bloody account !!

I am an Arro customer,and i asked for a new card 5 days ago,after that i tried to activate my card as it says on the website,of course the cvv on the back of the card it didn't worked,i called in 3 times today to ask them about this issue,they said that i can retrieve my cvv by a phone message,of course they told me that just to get rid of me,later on they emailed me that they will send a new arro card what it means i need to wait another 3 maybe 5 days.

Their customer service is very bad,that guy couldn't even speak proper english,he sound like he was asleep,he didn't gave me any help, but you need to pay fee for everything,fee for having an account with them,fee if you need to change your card because of security reason,even when you call them you need to pay.. i haven't seen anything like this JUST DON'T TRUST THEM!!! If you call in they only lie just to get rid of you.

This was a going really well now I am sitting here with no one to get my money for my children as my account been suspended and I cart get any money out or even get on to my account I all ready have a payment going to to my account on Monday and I cart stop it and no outher account for my money be send to did not even send me a email to say thay were supposed it thay just did it

As an international student it was a hassle opening just a current account with the highstreet banks. My friend recommended me Arro. All I can say: Arro is a life-saver for students around the globe! Opening an account was so much easier, just in 2 mins I got my account and could use my card straightaway. Very simple and fast application process, friendly customer service. Highly recommended.

Wow I wish I looked up reviews before going with them what a joke of a company I had my account for 4 days and yesterday they stopped me using it apparently there reviewing it anyway today they have suspended it for no reason all money in the account over £100 will be getting sent back to the payees so left without money could take up to 10weeks so I can't get it sent anywhere else until work receive it back what a joke scammers rude and don't care about customers at all just closes your account all reviews with one star are right just think before u apply as u could be out shopping and your card one day won't work as it be under review no email call or txt to warn or tell you

I couldn't get account in the big banks of London when I first came here. Later a friend told me about Arro Money and honestly, their application was so easy. And now I have been using Arro Money for over a month and it has made my life so much easier. I have used it for London underground, shopping at the airport and I really like how I can instantly receive money or transfer it to a bank account. Using Arro I have been able to save alot of time when I'm travelling and need to make an instant payment. In addition, Arro has great customer service who have helped me with some authorisation issues at first.

I've enjoy using the Arro card but I also like to see if possible that you offer a small loan towards helping people whom with you after three months and doing that may be help to cover a out standing bill or some thing needed urgent, and by you offering this would be paid back within 28 days, and if the account is up to date with credit may be offer a longer loan, repaying each month. this I'll like to see.

I have had no problems with them until today ive come out of hospital as im severly disabled to find my online account blocked ive even deleted the account an got it back again to no avail my account was temporarely suspended as the week before id used the card to pay busfare something went wrong so i owe arro 4 pounds an 40 pence ud think ive rang them an emailed them to explain whats happened im panicking so much because ive got bills to pay and not sure if ill get my money tomoz im on benefits because of my disabilitys the more ive read peoples reviews it making me so scared once ive got my money back i will leave this company an look for a better one the anguish an stress this is causing ive just come out of hospital an have spent all day dealing with this

I want to take legal action about this company(Arro) and I know it is one of your company so called bank even tho is not. I am a current customer with them and They have treated me very unfairly and I have all the proof to ensure that I can take legal proceedings. They block peoples money for days and put people in very difficult situation and do not follow the FCA rule and regulation even though they claim that they do also the customer service staff are open of the worst to ever come across. This is the second time they have blocked my payments and also due to poor customer service and not giving me details as to why they delayed my payment for so long and put me in such difficult situation. You guyz as a whole have lot of questions to answer. After some research I found out that I am not the only victim, there are more.

Arro is not a bank, they are a money transfer service I have proof of this as said from one of their staff member. I am writing a complaint to FCA as they are not licenced and do not follow the correct procedures to solve issue of their customer they are all a lie.

Everyone who has been effected by them please I would advice you write to FCA stating your problem as I am certain they will take action for such companies

Account suspended over and over again in the last month over 7 times

I have been calling and sending emails to no avail

Spoken to various people who cant seem to help and you cannot rely on arro as they have completely ruined my business

I had an issue on Friday afternoon with my account being placed under review and I got into a panic as my wages had been paid in and I needed them for the weekend. I rang and sent an email and was advised why the account was under review - I had used the account to top up my Bet365 account which rang alarm bells as it is against their terms of service to use the account solely for gambling purposes. My own stupid fault.

I emailed them to explain that I use the account for a variety of reasons (rent, bills etc) and within 90 minutes of the account being placed under review it was reinstated and all was good.

I have to say, I was panicking at the time but the speed of response and service was excellent.
