Art of Bicyclesis a fantastic company and along with a group of family and friends had a most excellent time in India back in January 2018. Everything was great from the itinerary, accommodation, food but most of all being surrounded by an amazing country. From a bike everything is up close and personal. And there is always the back up vehicle when you need it. A decent level of fitness is definitely an advantage but the Art of Bicycles will move at your pace, create a flexible itinerary and aspire to meet your needs.

We took the 14 day trip offered by Art of Bicycle Trips, starting in Delhi and finishing in Udaipur. I cannot begin to describe what a breathtaking and awe-inspiring adventure this has been. Even before our arrival in India, all communication with the Art of Bicycle Trips staff was prompt and helpful and timely. We have done a number of cycling trips in Europe but truly none can come close to this one. The bikes (Scott) were excellent: 24 gears, hardy and well maintained. The routes each day were amazing: beautiful and varied vistas, charming villages and small towns and, of course, we saw so many animals: monkeys, cows, Buffalo, foxes, bats, deer and antelopes and even a mongoose ! The hotels that were chosen were lovely heritage properties: in the cities, it was often a central haveli with historic charm. In the countryside, the places were even more spectacular. For example, we stayed on the hunting lodge of the King of Jodhpur! There were also city tours, a camel ride and visits to a bird sanctuary and safari! However, the jewel in the crown of this experience was really our trip leader, Kamalpreet Singh. He was quiet and understated but a fountain of knowledge about all things Indian. He could talk about the Aravalli hills and the religions of India, as well as about local people and customs. He was very reliable and professional. I cannot speak highly enough about how well organized this 2- week adventure was! Excellent value for money but more importantly a life affirming experience about good travelling! Great work to the Art of Bicycle Trips team! You have an amazing experience here!”

"Do not hesitate to trust the team at Art of the Bicycle with your holiday... we have just returned from 10 spectacular days touring the backwaters, the tea gardens, the spice plantations and the beaches of this incredible place. Luckily we decided to tour around on a bike and therefore have indulged in platefuls of the most tremendous food without noticeable weight gain. The team at Art of the Bicycle are great company, good fun and certainly go out of their way to make sure you have a holiday to remember. Go for it!

My ten day tour with ABT in Kerala was truly a trip of a lifetime. Incredible views, challenging rides, luxurious accommodations, and a crew who could not be more kind and attentive. It was a wonderful way to take in a small part of such a vast country. I hope to do more tours with ABT and am so grateful to have come across them. Their friendly manner and small groups are just what I was looking for. I would recommend their trips wholeheartedly!

It was a great tour from Udaipur to Jodhpur in casual inns. The cycling was varied and interesting, particularly the hill days. We stayed and ate in really cool places that we never would have found on our own. There were extremely worthwhile and fun cultural activities everyday after or during our ride. The guide and drivers were all very professional, caring, and helpful. Our guide made sure we experienced a lot in a short time. Overall I'd recommend this trip to anyone. We plan on taking another Art of Bicycle trip the next time we're in India (or someplace else where the trips are offered).

We were very excited to ride for two weeks in Vietnam for my 60th birthday. Art of Bicycle Trips seems to have planned a great trip. Then this global health crisis hit and our trip was in limbo. The representative from the company , Shruti was responsive and always working to satisfy my concerns. Initially I wanted them to hold the spot and use the funds for a future trip a few months down the road but as the crisis worsened it became clear that this wasn’t virus going to be so easy to shake. I asked for the balance to be returned. She agreed and without any delay started credit process of about $5400. With other companies, returning funds could have been more of a battle. You never know what or who you are dealing with when you book remotely across oceans. Not in this case.... and that is why I am detailing this transaction. They are more interested in preserving their reputation and doing the right thing.
The sigh of a good organization is when things go sideways how do they handle themselves. These guys get an “A” 5 star grade

When I rebook , I will use them and will bring along other couples for the trip. I have no doubt they will exceed my expectations. Maybe they will apply part of my non refundable deposit to the next trip ..... who knows.
highly recommend.

Had a fabulous time cycling through Vietnam and Cambodia. Phooc was an exception guide for the Vietnam leg and a shout out to the different community based guides in Cambodia in Phnom Phen and Angor Watt.
Yes, we'll be back!

The Kochi to Chennai ride is a true immersion in the sights, sounds, and smells of South India. It is suitable for adventurous riders. There’s some tough hills going through the Western Ghats (days 3 & 4), with rest of the ride through Tamil Nadu mostly flat. The guide and driver were friendly and attentive. The lodging and food are good. The historical sites visited, especially the ones in Mahabalipuram, are wonders.

The Southern Thailand bicycle trip was an experience that I will never forget.
Woody, our guide and Mr. Sit our driver made sure that I journey was insightful and educational.
This trip is for those who want to experience the real Thailand, not just from the travel brochures.
I highly suggest this bicycle trip, It will definitely change your perspective.

We had a private tour for 4, premium hotels biking through Vietnam and Cambodia. Hotels were excellent (loved the two Raffles); we had some food restrictions and guides were meticulous in ensuring our dietary needs were satisfied; the meals were good, and countryside beautiful. A highlight was the "homestay" in Cambodia...the family was delightful. Be sure to send your height in advance of arrival so they have the right size bike for you....the bikes were in great condition and the drivers carried sufficient equipment to make any necessary repairs along the way. This was our second trip with Art of Bicycle, and we'll return again.

Art of Bicycle Trips gave our group of ten women a memorable experience in Sikkim. The condition of the roads and the mountainous landscape made riding challenging, but it was worth every moment to experience the vistas of the Himalaya, the lush landscape, prayer flags everywhere and colorful cultural sites around every corner.

Four of us with multiple previous bike trips under our belt were very impressed by the professionalism, knowledge and commitment to the client provided by our guide. An Udaipur company with intelligent, highly educated (university degrees) guides and a good itinerary. Third world adventures will throw a few curves but good guiding companies can deal with them. Numerous brief shuttles during the 12 days bypassed the unsuitable biking portions of Rajasthan. Would highly recommend.

We have done 2 trips with The Art of Bicycling-first in Rajasthan and second in Vietnam and Cambodia.
They were both excellent from very interesting rides to incredibly good accommodations. In all cases the guides and drivers were excellent and the trips provided a deep cultural experience in addition to an intimate and fun trip.
I rarely give five stars but in this case there was almost nothing that we wish had been different.

A wonderful experience- the perfect way to experience Vietnam and Cambodia. The bike guides were enthusiastic and flexible so the trip was relaxed and tailored to our needs. We never felt pressured to bike more or less than we wanted to. Safety and comfort were a top priority. Accommodations were very nice and comfortable especially considering we were in some rural areas. Bike quality was very good and bike mechanics excellent at getting the bikes adjusted for maximum comfort. We really liked the overall vibe which was accommodating but not too much handholding that sometimes occur on tours. Overall we had a great time!

Tony was our Tour Guide and Hiro was our driver. We could not have had better people to travel with, they were so caring, considerate and super informative but also (very important to us) great fun! Our trip was unique as it was just my husband and I on tour and so we were able to tailor our journey day by day based on how we felt with the heat but I feel that the Art of Bicycle Trips would look after anyone and everyone as best they could. The accommodation was amazing (close to 5 star), and far superior to anything we expected for a cycling tour (but very gratefully received at the end of a long, hot day). We would recommend the Art of Bicycle Trips to anyone.

We had great trip with the Art of Bicycle in Northern Thailand, golden triangle, from Chiang May to Chiang Ray.
Accommodations and food were great. Group leader and support team were attentive to our needs. I just would wish that we rode bike a little more and had extra bike and other bike parts with us on the road

We thoroughly enjoyed our Glimpse of Rajasthan 6 day, 200+km "easy ride" cycle tour from Udaipur to Jodhpur! Our trip leader Hussain was amazing, he looked after every little detail for us and went above and beyond in so many ways.

This route took us on the back country roads through little villages and rural areas. All along the way, we felt like celebrities as everyone was waving and excited to see us, especially the little children who would come running and shrieking and then got so excited when we waved back or said hello.

We are a fairly active middle aged couple from Canada, but I was a little nervous about whether I would be able to keep up. The first day had some hills, but the following days were very easy cycling. The bikes were very good quality; Hussain checked them frequently and they were always clean and ready to go every morning. Vijay who was driving the support vehicle was never very far away from us, so we always had access to the vehicle if we needed it.

We had booked the "Premium Inns" accommodations, which for the most part far exceeded our expectations. Even though these are all top notch hotel choices, I had expected to be booked into their basic room types, but at each hotel, it seemed that we got the best room in the hotel.

The trip included a lot of sightseeing and village walks, all with excellent professional tour guides at every location. We loved the village walk in Narlai where we were invited into people's homes and offered chai tea, it was such a great experience! One of our stops was at a little village school, where we had a tour & got to watch the kids recite their times tables & English alphabet - this was truly special!

I highly recommend the Art of Bicycle trips & would give them way more than 5 stars if I could! A very big thank you to Hussain and Vijay and the rest of the crew, you made our trip to India such a wonderful experience !!
