I had a policy with iman as I was on 457 visa and I had visited the emergency dept of the hospital as advised by a GP DUE TO a pain and when later went to iman for claiming they needed a number of documents and even after submitting the required documents they never came back to me telling anything and when I call them they said the claim was not accepted and rejected when asked they said it may be a cause of pre- existing case but couldn't give any details while hospital discharge letter clearly mentioned that it was not the case , and when questioned about their decision they said they need some more documents to reassess for their clinical team but didn't give exact details wat document they need and it showed their intent that they don't want to pay thaw claim and just wanted to reject the claim giving any reason and the whole process is going on for more that six months and still they want to run in circles to get more documents , as a customer I feel cheAted by this company and they even now say they wanted to help me bout need more documents.even when there is full details of treatment they say that their clinical team couldn't exactly assess which may be because of incompetency of their clinical staffs but we had to suffer for more and more documents.... 6 months round and round and still continuing. Worst experience ever

Doesn't like the website indicate, for a couple you have to pay up to 187 dollar per month instead of 143 dollar, which makes this policy not worth your money. Don't know why it gets so much promoted, probably it pays a lot on marketing. It's hard to claim and get your money back.

They put me with the same policy twice in their system and charged me TWICE of the first month insurance fee, emailed 4 times and called a few times, wasting my time and slow in response! It is been almost a month but I still have not received my refund for the wrongly charged first month fee! A MONTH and they are still pondering even if I provided bank statement for 2 weeks already. Pathetic. Don't go for this one just for the seemingly cheaper price.

Customer service has always been very friendly and helpful, today I spoke with Michelle who was so helpful to my enquiry and gave me the right way ahead for my query. We have had our membership for a year now and the few times we have called Iman has always been helpful

I never liked paying for health insurances but Since I got married IMAN has been one of the greatest friend. Helped us a lot with my wife's surgeries. Cover us 100% for hospital bills.

I came to a Preferred GP which was referred from IMAN/NIB website. The clinic charged me upfront with excess MBS fee for appointment and asked to be paid by CASH. I was happy to do it, but when I made a claim with IMAN, it started to become a nightmare Health Insurance policy I ever bought.
IMAN said they even escalated the matter of excess charges but it have been already over a month without a respond from them.
My prescription medicine claim got rejected because I have not served enough waiting periods although I was with NIB more than a year before.

17 of August 2017, I made a one off payment of 110.66 dollars and 210.62 dollars respectively, with a total of 321.28 dollars for my Mum's health insurance that is valid for 3 months and enough to cover her stay here in Australia. Just this morning I received an email saying that the premium is 35 days overdue starting from 18/11/17 and my mum needs to pay 221.32 dollars or else the policy will be cancelled and need to call the customer care centre. I did try to call them right after I read the email just to make it clear but their customer care centre is already off. I can simply ignore it and let the policy be cancelled because my Mum's already back in Philippines, but I don't want them ( insurer ) to think that I'm running away. I only want to make it clear, because it doesn't make any sense if you already paid for it and you will be asked to pay again. Technical error should not be always an excuse.

I recently made a claim through IMAN and the service I got was great- a friendly consultant and very simple process. I would recommend to anyone looking for health cover!

We took out the executive level cover 2 years ago as we were pretty sure we were going to need IVF to start a family. There was a waiting period of 12 months. After the 12 months we started with consultations, tests and an operation that was needed. Now when we were just about to start our first cycle of IVF they have told us that IVF is not covered. We were never informed of the changes to the terms and conditions and have paid $650 a month for 2 years to now be told that we are not covered. The staff were totally unhelpful on the phone and have said nothing can be done. The are so many strong words I would like to use

I am a customer of IMAN and had to visit the emergency outpost of Fiona Stanley at Rottnest Island recently after a biking accident. Paid the fee for the emergency treatment which included Xrays and stitches (all listed on the receipt submitted to them). They are denying my claim indicating that the Rottnest Island is not a registered provider even though the receipts submitted clearly indicate Fiona Stanley Hospital & Government of Western Australia. Based on the other reviews I can see they are in the game of avoiding payments for genuine claims. Please go elsewhere.

Update - IMAN have decided to honour my claim after being contacted by the insurance health ombudsman.

No one picks up the phone and no one reply to email also. It seems they are not interested in us. I am going to switch my insurance now. Worst experience ever.

I have applied for an IMAN health plan as required for my 485 visa application. However, they rejected my application just because I had a pre-existing ailment. I am a Rheumatoid Arthritis patient since I was young but I am able to take good care of myself and I even finished my degree with Bachelor of Applied Science. In addition, I got a medical report from a doctor proving that I am capable enough to get myself organised. Not only this, I have to chase them out for the decision. They didn't even inform me anything about my application, I have rang 3 to 4 times just to know the decision. I really felt that I am discriminated by IMAN...

When I migrated from Ireland , I took this insurance, but they don't cover nothing for gp visits at the time, in 2011-12 .i would advice anyone to go with bupa only

I have registered IMAN in october 2013.
I had efficient email exchanges in December with them to change our adress and the credit card i pay with their fee.
But since middle of January, when i 've sent my first claim form, they don't answer to the phone and the automatic answer to my email is: "Currently we are experiencing higher than normal volume with our email and phone channel" when the first answer was "a response we will get back to you within 3 business days.” .
Come one! going from 3 days answering time to over 2 months is not normal. A tsunami in their office?
I will up date my review as soon as i have an answer!

I have been with iman since 2011 and in total 4 years i claimed two times to see gp.anyway last month my wife admitted in hospital and i applied to claim my invoices to iman and then i did not hear anything from IMAN .it is being a month that i have not gotten my money back from that worst insurance company then today i made a call to IMAN i asked to cancel my policy and made a request to finalise my claim application.
Please please do not go with iman.Find a right insurance company with satisfaction.

First year I bought their basic cover, the most useless plan; it basically covers nothing. Second year I upgrades it to the value pack, claiming to cover all GP visits.
Half a month ago I made a claim. Because I didn't quite understand some lists on the claim form, so I emailed what I thought was a correctly filled form and all claiming proofs, and asked them to tell me if I filled out the form correctly. Just like what David had experienced, nobody answers my calls and all I got is auto email respond "Currently we are experiencing higher than normal volume with our email and phone channel". Well, I don't know how long it normally takes to process a claim and expect to wait some 2-3 months, but at least inform me if I filled the form out right. They were so very efficient when I emailed to purchase plans and change credit card info. (Above posted on Apr 12, 2016)
Today I received a cheque from NIB, yet no email or call to remind me of anything, not even the cheque! Obviously they like to settle things silently. According to the attachment to the cheque, I got 100% back for pathology and partial claim for GP visits. There is a certain quota for all items rather than fully covered as advertised. Still I am quite happy the health plan works.

Approximately 4 years ago, when I joined IMAN it was an awesome insurer for work visa holders. Although the entire service has deteriorated, thus it’s not worth spending your money and time dealing with their appalling service. For e.g Slow processing of premium, customer service support do not answer your calls, replies to emails are non specific and not to the point.

I calimed few weeks ago and I received automatic email that ‘you claim should be paid into your nominated account within 5 days’. And surprisingly it is still processing and i think they don’t want paying me.

I was woth iman for 2 years during that period i didnt get any benifits from them . Once they paid money but they said they have been overpaid and asking to refund money to i man . I was vey disapointed and i spoke to the manager [Name removed] she said i apologies for all the wrong information and cant do much about it . What a shame on you guys how to lookafter ur customer only they suck money all are crap.

We bought health insurance for some temporary employees, and despite numerous attempts to cancel the plans once these individuals had left the country, long chats to managers etc, we are still being charged monthly fees and no emails are being answered. Very dishonest, think twice before buying insurance through IMAN. We certainly won't be doing so again.
