My husband and I last year consolidated our owner occupied loan and investment property loans to Auswide Bank. We also have a business loan with them now having recently purchased a larger property north of Bundaberg. The service and staff are second to none. The savings we've made by switching banks and saving on rates has put more back in our pocket and the mobile app and internet banking technology means I can access my account details, redraw excess funds at any time and monitor my 100% offset accounts. Go Auswide Bank!

I appreciate the longer opening hours and the retention of multiple tellers at a time when other banks appear to be actively discouraging over the counter interaction with customers. Auswide has the feel of a small business rather than a large and impersonal corporation.

I have been a customer of Auswide Bank now for many years and would never consider leaving for another financial institution. The above and beyond service I always receive from the friendly staff in my branch is wonderful and really appreciated. Their knowledge on investment rates, overseas currency rates has helped me many times over.

I took a loan through the Auswide bank branch in Maryborough and when discussing the interest rate I was told it was 3.99 % until all the particulars was worked out and I purchased a cheaper home after doing this the interest rate increased to 5.4% I was shocked but because I'd been through all the steps to get the loan I signed up I wish I hadn't I have since applied for a loan elsewhere .Don't make the same mistake as me and try everywhere else first you'll be glad you did they're not for their customers but only for themselves. A few moths after taking the loan I received a letter from them saying that due to the significant and sustained increases in the cost of funding loans we will be increasing your interest rate by .05% even though there has been no movement of the official cash rate. What a joke when they say we're for the customer Just don't give them the satisfaction .I just wish I had of known this in the beginning

Applied for a home loan through my broker (Who I can't thank enough) almost 12 months ago with Auswide Bank as a first time home owner. Success! I was almost officially ready to start building my first house. Found a block of land I loved so I purchased it and things we're going really smoothly. Next step was to find the right builder. Success! found a builder.
To cut a long story short the builder went broke before they even started and I lost 5 months of time chasing my deposit back from the QBCC. During that time the home loan had lapsed and according the ASIC you have to re-apply after 3 months of not using the loan, which is annoying but that's the rules.
I work in construction myself and have done since finishing high school, been a full-time employee on different contracts for around 19 years and never having too much time off in between contracts (Few months here or there, travelling etc). While I was in the process of finding a new builder and re-applying for the home loan my current full-time contract was ending. I ended up finding a new contract however it is only full-time on a "Casual" basis with the potential to go full-time in 3-6 months which was fine with me cause the work suited my lifestyle and it meant I had a great work / life balance. My broker had asked the bank if this was okay and they verbally said it shouldn't be a problem.
Well.. That was a complete lie. They completely back-flipped and changed their mind stating my "casual" contract was a "concern" and that I needed to be employed at least 6 months on that casual contract before I could re-apply... Meanwhile I was already an existing customer that had already purchased land (while paying rates and making monthly repayments on principle and interest since June 2017) through this home loan. Not only that I had a 20% deposit for the loan (By myself mind you) with great savings in my accounts that if I was to have 12 months off I could afford to live and pay off the loan easily and still have money in my accounts.
Anyway my broker has already found another bank who knows my situation and are more than happy to give me a loan and I have now started the process of telling ALL my friends, family, work colleagues and even complete strangers to stay away from Auswide Bank.
Just for your information also their online banking is pretty subpar and basic. You can't download your own statements unless it's in QIF , DAT or CSV format which is absolutely pointless cause it has no "official" letterhead or anything with Auswide on it, so you've got to wait 3 months for paper statements or ring up and pay a fee for posted paper! It's 2018! who even does paper statements anymore? Wake up Auswide.

We needed a better home loan package, having been with one of the big 4, getting ripped off all the way through. Auswide gave us a deal that none of the major banks could match it, let alone beat it. Deb and Diane were fantastic and great help throughout the process. I would definitely recommend Auswide for home loans.

I’ve been with Auswide for about 5 years moving from one of the major banks. The customer service is the best and I have been very happy with the change. Recently I dealt with Heidi at the Canelands Branch and she is amazing. Very friendly, does everything possible to make things work for you. Extremely professional and very friendly and maintains great communication. Heidi recently touched base to ensure we were going ok through this covid madness and crazy times. Very unexpected but very appreciated. Thanks Heidi, you are one of the great reasons we stay with Auswide.

I would like to commend Heidi Bartels from the Canelands branch of Auswide bank. Heidi assisted us to get a loan after we were advised by a major bank that we would not get one. This was despite the fact that we had previously held a loan with that bank and only a few months earlier were offered a further loan, which we did not need at that time. The staff member at that bank made us feel very small and unimportant. She then tried to refer us onto a loan broker who would no doubt provide a kickback to that bank. She advised us that there was no point trying any other bank. Thankfully we met Heidi who is amazing and made us feel like we mattered. She explained everything fully, was super friendly, followed up with us when she said she would and we were delighted when we had our loan approved. Auswide bank care about their clients and from our dealings with them appear to go above and beyond. I highly recommend Auswide and Heidi who is a genuinely helpful and considerate person.

Marilyn my fiance has been with this bank since its inception in Bundaberg as Wide Bay Capricorn and was a friend of the owner and his family. However the service from staff at Mackay Canelands is outstanding. The help provided by counter staff is of a high standard and helpful as well as friendly. Heidi from Lending is amazing. Her customer service, friendliness, competence, help, understanding and service delivery is second to none. She cares for her clients listens to their requirements and organises assistance in a competent and efficient way. An amazing lady and valuable employee. I cannot praise her work enough. Thank you Auswide Canelands Mackay! A great team.

I'm a mortgage broker and have been dealing with Auswide for several years. The staff at the local Rockhampton branch are always friendly and helpful. Our clients are invariably happy with the service, especially from Katreena.

I applied for a home loan with this bank through a broker us along with broker were appalled at the whole process. 6 weeks for a pre-approval, keep requesting more and more documents that they already had, delaying constantly. Then for them to turn around and decline it after 6 weeks. The decline letter is attrocious doesn't say why declined just computer generated it seems. So unclear as to why it was declined when well & truly met all criteria and don't know what to fix before applying again. Was the first time we applied for mortgage and honestly scared to do again due to this service. Disappointed is an understatement. Shocking customer service would not recommend.

Trying to help my 83 year old Dad in law to set up online banking as due to COVID and his serious risk status, is not allowed out of the house. He banks with several banks - others were easy to set up - just ring bank - get authorisation number and it was all done in a short time. With Auswide - not a chance. On their site it has to be a form completed and allow 3 days to have actioned!!!! Really - in the 21st Century we have to do this. I rang them and was politely told it was only done with a form and it could be posted back, faxed through or call to local branch. Since Dad doesn't have a fax, uses internet wireless and is not allowed to go down the street due to COVID concerns, I explained this and the operator said it can be emailed in. So, printed off the form, had Dad fill it out, had to take a picture of it, uploaded it onto my computer to then email to Dad's computer to then attach to an email. Problem is there is no email address on the site - only a request email facility. It beggars belief that in this day and age, we have to resort to this process which for anyone is a pain but for an elderly customer, is almost prohibitive. Dad is seriously considering closing the account altogether and moving to one of the other banks and I don't blame him. Very poor.

I have just completed paying a personal loan over the set period with the figure set by the bank each month to see that there was 50 dollars still owing. I rang the local branch to be told it was an early payout fee. So I went in to the branch and the two ladies in the branch were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful as we tried to explain to the accounts department that I had been paying the set figure from them per month on a fixed interest loan so how can they charge an early payout figure. They set the figure. I was told if I didn't pay I would be charged interest on the 50 dollars. The ladies applied for a reimbursement for me but I still had to pay on the spot and they would refund my account if my application was successful. The day to day staff are great but the faceless people make their jobs harder. If not resolved to my satisfaction I will take it further.

Was screwed around for 10 days to get a NO with all requirements met with ease.
Constantly fed lies ranging from "sorry mate, lost your number in my phone" to
"Oh, sorry.......couldn't get back to you yesterday as there was a power outage"
A Queensland bank with NO idea about real estate in Victoria. AVOID!!!

I was on a variable rate since 2016 and the market saw loan rate drop, which was never passed on to me, even after a few phone calls. Instead, they bumped up the rate from 4.something to 4.6 when the comparable rates around were just 3.99. That's one part of the problem. And man, their customer service is the worst of all. I will never get something with them again and I recommend NOT to go with them either.
