Awesome Supplements

Ben Coomber has put a lot of thought into this company. They are very transparent, they give a lot of information away for free on their website as to why some supplements are useless (i.e BCAAs). Prices are fair and quality is good. Their vegan protein is the first vegan protein I've tried that actually tastes good and doesn't give me digestive problems. I also use their vitamin which is a very cost effective method of covering your bases

Tried lots of vegan protein powders and this is the only one I’ve actually enjoyed drinking. Prefer it to whey and mixes well with almond milk.

After trying several vegan protein powers - I finally found one I could stomach, but it was rather on the expensive side. As I have a protein shake every morning with breakfast, it was going to end up costing me over £1 per day. A friend suggested Awesome Supplements so I read a load of reviews and took the plunge, buying the three flavours available: Chocolate salted caramel, choc and nut, and vanilla. I was rather sceptical of the vanilla flavour one as it had mixed reviews and I have never found a vanilla protein that I enjoy drinking (which is a real shame as I like other vanilla flavoured products).

So, as shakes made with my preferred mix of just 50/50 coconut milk and water, the texture is pretty good - not too grainy, and you can get a bit of froth on top in a blender. None are too sweet, but all have a bit of an aftertaste - the worst flavour for this (and overall, in my opinion) is vanilla. My favourite one in shake format is the chocolate salted caramel.

The next test was overnight oats. I use 50g of Quaker oats, a scoop of protein powder and 200ml of coconut milk. This is where the choc & nut comes into its own. I leave overnight in the fridge, add some berries in the morning and the flavours are delicious - I look forward to eating breakfast! The berries take away the aftertaste and the hint of nut goes really well with the porridge / berries.

Hopeful, I did the same with the vanilla powder and almost had to throw my breakfast in the bin. No amount of berries was going to make that taste good...

I haven't tried the chocolate salted caramel in overnight oats yet - but I am about to buy another tub of choc & nut as that is my clear favourite in this format. I'll probably drink the chocolate salted caramel in shake format and the vanilla one will remain unused (aside from the two test scoops I tried).... Maybe I'll sell it, or give it away...

In summary, I have ditched the more expensive vegan powder in favour of the Awesome Supplements products - the price is much more palatable, even if the vanilla flavour isn't (to me).

Awesome Daily Dose and Performance Blend have been a must for me over the last couple of years. Being in the (just!!) over 40 category this combination made it possible for me to teach fitness classes (which I rarely refrained from taking part in), work as a personal trainer and still keeping up (and continue improving!!) my beloved weight training. It may seem expensive but when I added up what I was spending on supplements (and cheap quality ones at that) daily dose covered all bases, removed the need to remember which ones to take and when AND cost the same for a superior quality!!! No brainer!!! The Performance Blend is amazing - I can’t take pre-workouts - I’ve never found one that agreed with me - but Performance Blend drip fed my body what I needed to meet the demands that I put it through!!! That and the caffeine tablets - absolute winning combination!!! All of this plus the education and information from the company and their brilliant customer service team who have always been exceptionally helpful, friendly and informative. You could say I’m a fan I guess!!
