I wanted to thank you for all of your help today in troubleshooting batteries and chargers for my Neuton electric lawnmowers. You are a WIZARD and have the patience of a saint in taking me through all the steps we needed to try to isolate the problems. I think your middle name should be TESLA for your profound knowledge of electricity .
Batteryspec.com should be very proud to have you on their team, your good nature and pleasant demeanor are a true asset to your organization. I hope they realize how fortunate they are to have you and how pleasant you are to work with. I will recommend Batteryspec.com to all my business associates and tell them to ask for Ron Evans.
Thank you again!!
Regards, Michael
He went on to advise me on how to take care of my issue, he recommended a charger for future use with my new battery, and he even told me exactly how to use what he was going to send me.
I can't brag on Ron near enough. He never spoke down to me, nor showed exasperation as he was explaining what I needed to do. I will return to this company for my future needs based on his customer care alone.
My battery, the charger, and my new part arrived much faster than I expected. I had it installed within 20 minutes based on the pointers that Ron gave me.
I placed order of 18 12V SLA batteries in 10/2003 for use in various UPS units. 15 were ~90 days old, 1 was ~5 months old, 1 was 18 months old, and one arrived physically broken. I decided to contest the broken battery and the 18 month old one. After a lengthy process that required multiple inquiries, Batteryspec AKA IMC Power did deliver two new batteries, but not after a dispute. Customer service representative Ron insisted that it was impossible that they shipped a battery that old. The problem with his claim is that I did not place any orders in 2012 and only one company sells the Tempest brand of batteries. There is no secondary source, not even eBay. Ron also claimed that the battery was used because there were signs of wear on the terminals, a revelation I found alarming. The only interaction I had with the battery beyond unpacking and repacking for return was to test the voltage, which would not leave the type marks that female terminals would. Ron also insisted that the warehouse had a strict 90 day turnaround policy, which obviously wasn't true since I also received a 5 month old battery.
While I was unable to convince Ron that Batteryspec's warehouse had issues, he did ship me 2 batteries which were about 60 days old when I received them. I was satisfied enough to place another order in 2/2014 for 6 6V SLA batteries for use in emergency lighting. Unfortunately, all 6 batteries were 11 months old. Furthermore, terminals on two of the batteries showed signs of corrosion or wear. I decided not to go through the hassle of the return process and to write this review instead.
The batteries themselves are of good quality and even in their aged state they are likely superior to the ubiquitous Universal Battery brand, which in my experience has a lifespan of 6-12 months. Although old, the batteries do ship with decent charge. Batteryspec has a huge selection of battery sizes and terminal fittings and may be the sole online source for certain sizes. Despite the broken battery, packing is excellent in all orders I received. Sturdy boxes are reinforced by cardboard, and each battery is individually wrapped in a "baggie", I guess to prevent rubbing.
Personally, I am back on the search for a vendor who sells fresh and "genuine" batteries and intend to use Batteryspec only when there appears to be absolutely no alternative.
The only negative point I can make is that they didn't have the higher-capacity batteries that I was looking for in stock. Other than that minor detail, everything was good.
A few years back we had a credit card at work compromised right after placing a purchase here, and we suspected it was them but had no way to prove it. This time I know for sure it was them, since that number was only used once.
I used the term "izip chopper" on the batteryspec.com website and it returned ONE battery and one charger available. They are the self proclaimed expert, so I felt confident in ordering what the website recommended.
They didn't fit. They wouldn't even fit in the battery holder. I wrote back explaining and suggesting that I should get a full refund and would then order the right batteries.
After an email from them with the RMA and correct battery link, as well as a statement stating they did not refund shipping charges and a copy of the website text stating they "recommend" you check before ordering, I submitted the RMA and then ordered the correct batteries.
I think because I had the audacity to suggest that his return policies were unfair; now there is no response to my inquiries (2 since) and my RMA has been ignored.
So, I'm stuck with a pair of batteries (and shipping charges) that I cannot use. Additionally, my son has to wait another 3 WEEKS before I can drive up and visit him.
I get enough of this type of behavior from my whiny, hormonal teenage daughter. At least she'll grow out of it. Never again...
Ron,
Thank you so very much for your help in finding the correct battery and parts that we needed. I must say that I’ve never had anyone work so carefully to ensure that our order is correct. Your suggestions and instructions were so helpful! I have put your website under my “favorites” and will let others know that this is the place to go to for batteries and excellent service.
Thank you again.
With sincere appreciation.
I also have to say that I could not find this battery for my grandson's Tonka dumptruck any where else. I was pleased with the price too. It was less than the cost of the original. I look forward to doing business with this company in the future.
