I've just returned from a weekend at 'Mariners Moon' on the Whitesands development in Camber with some girlfriends. We had a fab time in a lovely house. The beach at Camber is fantastic and the hours walk to Rye on the cycle/footpath is well worth doing as parking in Rye can sometimes be difficult. We have a lovely lunch in The Globe Inn Marsh, Rye. It gets very busy and you can't book so turn up early.
Booking with 'Beside the Sea Holidays' was a joy, they made everything so easy. The excellent information about the house and the area received beforehand and the welcoming email and text messages to check everything was ok were something I had not experienced before and I have booked many houses with lots of different companies.
Thank you also for the milk, apple juice and the locally made carrot cake and macarons, they were delicious.
Well done to Richard and Sophie at 'Beside the Sea Holidays' on the excellent way they run their business. We'll hopefully use you again soon.

After being let down by another company the day before we were due to travel, our group of 6 made a last-minute reservation at Seaglass cottage. The communication right from the start was fantastic, with an electronic house guide full of useful information being sent. Having never visited the area before and with little time to investigate and plan, the inclusion of local information was invaluable. We arrived at the cottage and were blown away, the gifts of lemon cake, biscuits and apple juice made our arrival feel special. The house was immaculate, so cosy and inviting and contained everything and more than we could have needed during our stay. The little touches are what made this place, beach towels and a picnic blanket were there if you needed them, children's games in the living room, buckets and spades in the shed - perfect! The kitchen was better equipped than ours at home! We will definitely return, and may work our way through the rest of the cottages as they look equally as fantastic. Thank you guys for saving our bank holiday weekend and making it an even better experience than our original plans :) **

We arrived on Friday afternoon, weather was rubbish !! On entering the property, the warm heating surrounded you. Lovely as it was getting cold outside. Looked around downstairs and upstairs I knew we were going to enjoy our stay. Felt home from home. Equipped with everything you could want. The bed was so comfortable, I had a great nights sleep for being my first night. The estate was lovely to walk our dog as was the family garden. Didn’t need to eat out, was happy to cook and enjoy the relaxation. Would definitely book this property again. Got to meet Richard who was a friendly gentlemen. Contact with Beside The Sea was brilliant and couldn’t fault it. Thank you Lisa & family

This was probably one of the best we have received over many years of booking hoikday cottages all over the UK. The house was very well equiped, spotlessly clean and exactly as described which has not always been our experience of other places.

Weekend Retreat

A close friend suggested we had a couple of days by the sea as she has been ill and wanted fresh air and company in comfortable surroundings. We got all that and more! The house is stunning: warm, super clean and cosy, all mod cons plus a delicious welcome gift of banana cake and shortbread cookies from our hosts. Sophie very kindly also made herself available to take receipt of our online grocery shop as we were late in arriving.

We couldn't have been happier in our choice of location, this area was so peaceful and lovely. Recycling was on our doorstep (lots of empty bottles of wine) and the kitchen easy to prepare a massive brunch each day. TVs in every room and soft fluffy towels, nice bed linen.

Would definitely recommend to any and all! Thanks Richard and Sophie!

I booked Half Moon cottage at very late notice for a long weekend for family, a surprise to celebrate my husband's birthday. He was going to be kite-buggying at Camber Sands and we decided to tag along. The cottage location was perfect - just a short journey to the kite-surfing centre, and a minute's walk to beautiful sand dunes and long stretches of beach. Perfect for the children in our party who just wanted to be at the seaside all the time.

The house is on a pleasant estate and there was no noise from the neighbouring Pontin's. It is an easy distance from Rye.

The house itself is IMMACULATE. To say that it's pet friendly, there wasn't a trace of pet hair. Everything was spotlessly clean, from the kitchen, to the bathrooms, to the bedding. The property is 3-bed and though not over-generous in space, we comfortably fitted 5 adults (2 on a sofa bed) and 2 children for the weekend, helped by having one cloakroom and 2 bathrooms. It was good to be able to spill out into the enclosed garden; and it was good to be detached: we didn't feel self-conscious when the children were being particularly vocal and over-excited!

If I am forced to find any fault, it would be inconsequential! The fridge was a tad high up for a short person like me, and the kitchen equipment (plates and cutlery) wasn't too plentiful - just enough to cover a meal and it had to be washed between every meal. But these are really insignificant points in what was otherwise a fantastic stay.

The birthday surprise went down very well, as did every item in the luxury welcome hamper - and everyone in our party hopes to visit again soon!

Dear Richard & Sophie, Allie & I loved our week in Seasalt and didn’t want to leave! The cottage was spotless and just loved the way you furnished it. The cute decking area out the back is a sun trap (when the sun decides to come out!) and also love what the cottage looks out on from the front. Seasalt is a little gem in Camber :) Lovely to meet you Richard. Allie & I will return at some point as she’s owed another couple of hours of kite surfing & I can never have enough walks on Camber :) Best regards Joanna

We have never had a holiday in England but having a young dog decided we couldn't leave him at home - and how lucky were we. We found the perfect place, perfect cottage and were so impressed with Richard and Sofie who could not have done anymore for us. We will certainly be returning as soon as we can. Thank you again.

We stayed in Long Beach (2 bedroom cottage) last weekend. We loved the house, it is clean, modern, comfortable. It has everything you can think of. And more. Iron, ironing board, bottle warmer, coffee machine, dog bowls, board games, towels, wii etc. Fully equipped kitchen, Molton Brown handwash. Everything. What a beautiful touch to leave us a bottle of bubbly, a homemade cake and some fresh apple juice as a welcome gift. We are a family of 3 with a 15 year old teenager and a dog. We had a much needed bonding time. Thank you so much. Will be back soon.

Stayed at the Rufty Tufty cottage in camber in August, 4 adults sharing Lovely property on a quite estate and overlooking marshland with sheep grazing in the morning. The cottage was compact and suitable for us and our two 20 yr old children. Very clean and well maintained with all you need for your stay . Camber beach is lovely and a short walk away. We travelled to Hastings a couple of times and visited the shipwreck and fishing museum which was free and interesting. We preferred the hustle and bustle of Hastings as we found Rye too quite for us but that is a personal preference. Plenty of places to visit from a excellent base. Would recomend Beside the Sea holidays as it was a great setting and we had contact numbers if we had any problems and everything was professionally arranged.

Dear Richard & Sophie We have just returned from a 3 night stay in your beautiful boutique cottage and wanted to say a big thank-you for the extra touches of Prosecco, Lemon Drizzle Cake and shortbread! The cottage was very well presented and the bed was super comfortable. A short stroll to the stunning Camber Sands. Lots of lovely walks and great views. It was our dog Marley’s first holiday away from home and she had a great time too. You were great hosts and we would definitely re-book with you. Thanks for making our stay pretty perfect! A group of six of us had a great weekend staying in one of Beside The Seaside properties. Seaglass was a very comfortable, well equipped house, I would definitely stay again.

I was very pleased to get a comprehensive welcome pack via the Internet. Loads of relevant information. Great idea. I’ve never had this before, we usually get the usual tattered bit of A4 and half a dozen flyers when we arrive.
Really very easy to book. Done in a few minutes.

We stayed for a 4 night break in January. On a couple of days it was raining and windy, however the cottage was warm and cosy. It was easy to find using our GPS and is in a quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac, with private parking.
The owners have definitely taken time and expense to equip this cottage to a high level with many extras (including a Nespresso coffee machine and all the things you would need for a baby) that you wouldn’t normally find in a rental property. There was a comprehensive guest information file including operating instructions for all the equipment and a selection of books and videos, plus pamphlets for local places of interest and an ordinance survey map. Another nice touch is the provision of some spares - lamp bulbs etc. This is one of very few rental properties which has the facility for zip-link beds to allow full size single beds or super king doubles in both bedrooms.
The photos and description are accurate which is why I haven’t added my photos.
We had the opportunity to meet with Sophie and Richard who are very friendly, dedicated to delivering a high class service and making sure that you enjoy your stay.
We would definitely recommend this cottage for a winter break, as well as a summer vacation.

We had such a wondeful long weekend at the Beach Boutique with our 2 young children. It was so beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The Molton Brown hand soaps, and welcome bottle of prosecco, cake and macaroons were such lovely and welcome touches, and we couldn't fault the cleanliness of the cottage. We were so sad to leave and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others, we will be back as soon as we can! Thank you, Richard and Sophie, for such a lovely stay.
