I ordered a book for my toddler daughter, book never arrived, and when I follow up, I was told because it's past 10 days from expected delivery date, there is nothing they can do. So I was charged for the book, never recieved it, and was turned away with no refund nor follow ups. This is a fradulent site - do not use.

There is no guarantee that we will receive what we order. I ordered 6 books and only received 4 of them. The customer service representative was very rude and said that is how their business performs. I have to pay the return cost of shipping. She also said that until we open the box, we will not know what we are going to receive . Buy at your own risk. what a CHEATING business. STAY AWAY from bookoutlet.ca book lovers

I've ordered from Book Outlet twice. Both times I ordered adult and children's books. Everything was exactly as described for their bargain priced books. I did not order any scratch and dent books, because I wanted them in good condition. I was very satisfied with both my purchases, and will definitely order again!

The customer service agent was very responsive and they offered to either re-send the items or give me a refund. I didn't have to return the items. They also gave me a discount code to use for a future purchase. Overall I am satisfied with how they responded to the matter.

To update my review, I just never received my package. I had to call UPS who verified that a package was dropped off at USPS, then I had to call USPS who verified that they never received anything. I don't know what happened, but after the hassle of figuring it all out I was fortunately refunded.

Bought a book for a Christmas present Received a seriously misprinted book, Entire first section duplicated. CONSTANT emailing with verification was useless, Kept receiving the same canned reply over and over and over again, thanking me for contacting them.....NEVER received returned funds or replacement. If you respect your money, shop elsewhere.

There are a lot of good deals on the website. I usually order around big ones like the boxing day sale. Not a fan of the mark on the books at all. Also, it's really hard to find the kind of books I read on the site. They don't have a way to search for queer lit on the site. Still I was able to find some books I would be interested in ordering before the last sale. It just took a long time.

Bought 20 books from this company and 6 came in bad shape. I realize they are scratch and dent books now but was not aware when I bought them they were. There were 2 books that were in really bad shape teared and even marked with ink fingerprints on the side. I paid good money for them these 2 cost me over $5 and for that price i expected them to be in better condition. They looked like they should have been put in recycling. Even thrift stores don't sell books in that condition. The other 14 books were in really good condition and most cost less than $5 which doesn't make sense how could those be in such good condition and cost less than ripped damaged books. I asked for a refund or discount but they just quoted me there line about the scratch and dent books they sell. Wasn't happy and will not be buying books from them again. If anyone knows how to get your money back from them please reply. Thanks. I contacted the Better Business Bureau to launch a complaint and this is the response I got from Book Outlet. These books are marked UP TO 95% off (in the range of 50-95%). Regardless, they are still listed as Scratch & Dent and arrived in the exact condition we promised - with some scratches, dents, tears and various other cosmetic issues, such as missing dust jackets. The books are structurally sound, guaranteed great for reading. The customer purchased these books in this condition fully knowing they will have cosmetic wear. A refund will not be issued as ALL of the required information was very clearly provided to the customer prior to their purchase. Not impressed the books I got that were labeled scratch and dent at least 2 of them should not have even been sold they were that damaged. Not even at there so called discounted price.

I never received my package nor a refund for it, and I also placed another order which I cancelled (but was still charged for) and have STILL not received a refund, even though I cancelled the order almost three weeks and over ten business days ago... I am a full time student and really need this money returned to me as well as the money for the other order if they are not going to send me the books.

Thats what these guys are. NOT an iota of honesty in their dealings. I bought a book and paid extra for expedited shipping. They never sent the book, responded with "we will get back to you" or "we are working on it" I can't believe they are still in business. I guess scams can go on for a long time.

I was deeply concerned about my orders as I read the reviews after I paid for them, but was pleasantly surprised when my order of 6 books arrived within a 2 week window in Vancouver, as did an order of 7 different books sent to my sister as a birthday gift (to Oakville). They were all "bargain" books, but the minor blemishes associated with them were hardly cause for the greatly discounted prices I paid, so no complaints. I would actually rate this experience as 4.5 if I could. I only rate 5's when I experience consistently good service. So if I experience the same quality and service on my next order, I'll bump my rating up to a 5.

I purchased 30 books for the price of 5 from a full price bookstore. I was a little skeptical after reading reviews, but I am beyond happy with my purchase. All of the books are in good to perfect condition. Will definitely be ordering from them again!

When ordering, I ordered for a classroom a set of books, which I was sent the spark notes off. When wanting to return them, they stated I needed to put for shipping back and shipping again for the new book. When questioned I received no help and they did not even try to correct the situation. I will never buy from them again, and I will go somewhere else for my students needs

I didn't read any reviews before I ordered, but I did order 8 books and couldn't be happier with them. All of them were perfect, only a couple of them even had a remainder mark. I have another box full coming tomorrow, I have no doubt they will be fine too. Some people just love to complain

Today I received my first order of 12 books, all 12 perfect condition. I ordered on May 6 and received May 11, quite impressive in my opinion. I received two identical books, 1 hardcover and 1 paperback, once I looked into the situation I came to realize it was MY fault!! I am now awaiting for my second order and I feel confident that I will not be disappointed, also I recommended the book outlet to my friend. Thank you for the great work, well done! Especially during these difficult times!!

I PLACED ORDER ON 5/15 AND ALMOST 30 DAYS LATER HAVE NOT RECEIVED ORDER. I HAVE CALLED AND SENT MESSAGES WITH NO RESPONSE AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TRACK WITH NUMBER GIVEN. FOR SOME REASON WAS SENT UPS AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO USPS

their processing time is too slow...I am just 80 km from them, and it took a lot of time to be delivered...when I called them about their slow processing, they said if they can cancel my order!! I would do if they would pay the cost of my time from the time I searched, placed my order and until I called them....I wouldn't recommend anyone to get into this site.

I placed an order at Book outlet prior to doing any research of them or looking at their reviews. Once I looked up some reviews, I was quite disappointed and expecting the worst. I wouldn't have minded a little wear or slight tearing at the price I paid, but some reviews look much worse. My books arrived after a total of 10 days (about 8 business days) and were absolutely perfect. I was surprised to find no flaw whatsoever in any of the 24 books I ordered. I think I had about 3 or 4 from the "S" - Scratch and dent category, but they all look brand new. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I got an awesome deal on excellent quality children's books. Definitely will order again.

I had already placed my order with Book Outlet and then read the negative reviews. Then I began to worry that I would never receive them!I bought these books for my children to read during Covid. Despite the negative reviews, all of the books arrived in good condition and after about 2 weeks. I would order from them again for sure - especially since the prices are great!

This company sends out badly damaged books--does not refund or replace these damaged books--buy at your own risk!!!! They take NO responsibility for the books they send that are damaged. The first photo is the dust jacket torn away on a book costing over $30.00...second was one of several damaged from being shipped in cheap boxes. The third photo is on another high end book...
