I am a small-time real estate developer, so I flip houses frequently. I happened to purchase a really nice historic home and I knew that it would sell with a great lighting fixture in the middle of the dining room. I heard about Bowery Lights from an interior designer that I work with and I checked their website after that. I was really impressed with their wide variety of lighting fixtures. I talked to one of their employees and they recommended an excellent chandelier for the property. The chandelier was affordably priced and it made the house look like something out of Architectural Digest. I highly recommend Bowery because they have so many products that can fit within any budget. The house sold, BTW!

I received my order 1 month, 2 days after I placed my order. It was less expensive than I could buy it elsewhere at the time by about 15-20%.

Bowery lights had a ceiling fan on their website. It was sold at a national chain. The web page for the fan had a button that said, "best price". This required I enter my email. The price I received was about 15% less than the national chain. Also, there was no tax.

I purchased the fan on April 22, 2012. I heard nothing for several weeks. On May 16, I sent an email inquiry about my order. On May 23 I received a response: "Your order is shipping this week, it was backordered." I received my order on May 25, 2012.

If you are not in hurry, bowerylights.com may be a reasonable option. I did eventually get my order and I did save a few bucks. I would have liked a shipping update before 3 weeks later. If the item was "backordered", this would have been good information to communicate to the customer at the time of the order. I also would have liked a response to my email inquiry faster than 1 week.

Over the last four years I've probably ordered over 8 lamps from bowery lights. I've been satisfied every time. I not only got good pricing, but could not of asked for better customer service. Highly recommended!

I bought four chandeliers from Bowery lighting for my kitchen, dining room and two bed rooms. I never had a better shopping experience on line. Prices are extremely reasonable and the service I received was very impressive. It felt like they really cared about helping me and appreciated my business.

I ordered a $800 fan through the website - site indicated 7-10 day delivery. After a month with no word/delivery, I started calling and writing. No response to calls (they apparently use a call service that takes messages - that they seem never to return). Finally got an email response that the fan had been backordered from the manufacturer (maybe they could have told me that when I ordered it - they did not actually have the item they were selling) and that it would be shipped to me the next week. That was 2 weeks ago - still nothing. Total lack of honesty and no communication. Too many other good places to shop that actually have what they display as for sale. Never again with this group.

Update: on the plus side, I did finally get my fan - the naked box a little banged up but seems to be OK. On the negative, after Bowerylights.com read my review they requested that it be removed because I had never ordered from them. I provided proof so it may stay up. They promise a response, however. Stay tuned!

Update #2: (And the last one - too much time spent on this already). But need to respond to the BOLD FACE LIES of the merchant.

Bowerylights.com claims in their rebuttal that when they called me to discuss the delay in shipment, I tried to blackmail them into lowering the price, otherwise I would write a bad review. First, I never talked to these clowns on the phone because THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. Second, you will note from my review that I was quite pleased with the price of the item - it was $50 cheaper than any other site so I gave them 4 stars for price. Price is the only reason I did not cancel the order after a month without receiving it.

They also claim that they did not dispute that I did not make a purchase. Please see this note from resellerratings.com noting that they did in fact make this claim: "Thank you for your review about bowerylights.com. We appreciate your participation and support! The merchant claims your review is in violation of our policy #9 (see policies 1-14 for policies and any other violations, http://www.resellerratings.com/terms (http://www.resellerratings.com/terms). So your review can remain activated, please reply with a copy of your transaction documentation." Policy 9 states that the poster never ordered from the merchant that they reviewed.

Further - I did not claim they did not respond - only that they did not respond to my phone calls, they did not tell me that my item had been back ordered until nearly a month had past, and not until I inquired - and it that case, they took 2 days to respond.

They also state in the beginning of their rebuttal that "Orders get shipped directly from their respective manufacturer..." and then in response to my inquiry, and also in their rebuttal they say "The order shipped from the manufacturer we will get it next week and fed ex it you and we will email you tracking." So which is it - are the items directly shipped from the manufacturer or shipped to you and then reshipped to the customer?

It is OK for a shipment to be back-ordered and to take more time. I agree with the merchant that this happens and they are clear on that in their web site. What is not OK is to fail to notify the customer of a backordered item when they know this information, to not return calls, to take days to respond to emails and to never apologize for this poor quality of service. Most of it is not OK to out-and-out lie about the interaction with customers.

Consumers considering ordering from this company should look at the negative reviews posted here - in all cases the merchant calls the reviewer a liar. Either they attract a bunch of liars to their site for some reason or the real problem is that they have poor customer service and dishonestly try to discredit the reviewers. Shame on them!

Ordered 6 lights, on 7/28/15. Was charged for all 6 lights 8/2/15. Finally after emailing and calling several times, I got a tracking number on 8/12. Got the same tracking number for all 6 lights, to much my surprise only one light was delivered. When I called about the other 5 lights they advised they would check and "call right back" never heard from them, so I emailed the person who had sent the first tracking number.
The replies I got are:
"they are on their way"
at this point I do not trust " on the way" when that has not been the case, so I asked for the tracking number again.
Reply "will have it by end of day" ( mind you this is a day after the "on their way email" you would think if they truly were on the way, they would have had a tracking number.)
It is now day three since "they are on the way" , after they were "on the way" last week with the one tracking number and still nothing... It has been over 3 weeks since I ordered!! That said, I see when a customer leaves a negative review bowery always states " this customer is lying" If anyone feels that is the case, I can provide emails as proof. I never write reviews, but this has been extremely bad service, I do not want others to go through this process. I will be having my credit card company reverse the charges, and bowery can charge me for the ONE light that was actually shipped.

Follow-up - Looks like I actually have a tracking number as of this morning. It says there are 4 pieces shipped. I am really hoping that one box has 2 items in it, being I am waiting on 5 lights. I still will not be using Bowery ever again, but it is nice to see that I do not need to mess with reversing the charges. hopefully....

I needed to replace a broken bathroom fixture, i came across their website abd within 5 min i was able to find exactly what i wanted. I price checked the item on google and it was the best price as well.

Product didn't come as seen in picture, took 3 months to arrive. Very disappointed in the Tiffany lights. They do not take returns so buyer beware all purchases are final, which they do not say anywhere during check out process. They have very poor customer service highly recommend ordering from another company.

I recently purchased a chandelier for my front entry way on Bowery Lights, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. My wife and I spent months looking for the right fixture, and once we found it we, we ordered right away. I didn't find our particular chandelier at any other store, but the price seemed to be about what we were expecting to pay.

The communication from Bowery Lights was excellent--from order confirmation to the dispatch of our order, we knew what was going on and were never left guessing. Shipping was fast and our order was well packaged and reached us safely.

We plan on ordering other fixtures for our home from this site in the near future. We're very happy with how accurate the pictures of the chandelier were and we get tons of compliments when people come over.

We recently decided to renovate our house, and we were stuck on the lighting. We couldn't find enough choices in store so we decided to check out bowerylights.com. They were a pleasure to wok with. Customer service was so helpful and knowledgeable and very responsive. We got exactly what we were looking for; they have an amazing selection of lighting fixtures for every room/decor/size. If you're looking for any sort of light, this website is sure to have it. I would recommend it to all.

I was looking for new lightings for my new home recently. Was referred to Bowery Lightings by a colleague and visited the site online. I was pleased with the wide selection available and the swift customer service helps in making my choices fast. I ordered more than 10 lightings in total, including one grand crystal chandelier for the living room. Delivery was fast and I received it within 3 days of placing the order. Items came in perfect condition and they were all wrapped up nicely to prevent damage. It was an overall fantastic experience to buy from Bower Lightings and I will recommend it to anyone looking to buy lightings.

Placed an order on Saturday and was a little skeptical after reading the other reviews so decided to call to check on the order on Tuesday. I received a call back from Greg later that same day stating I should receive my order by Friday. Sure enough I actually received the shipment a day early on Thursday. Bottom line is they offered what seemed like the best price around and delivered within a week. Kudos and I would order again!

I purchased lights April 31 and still no lights. I contacted them more than 15 times emails and calls a girl Jessica keeps giving me the run around telling me that her boss is either sick or not in the office for 2 weeks. I ordered a Hubbardton Forge and because Jessica kept giving me the run around I called them and they told me that they were not an account with HF for over 2 months. I ordered 7 lights and chandeliers from bowerylights after I have carefully gone through their great website. I've even talked to their customer support and they answered my questions really fast. Everything arrived as promised and as described. The products are quality. All of them are used currently in my new store. I will order the ceiling lightning very soon. Highly recommended.
