Poorly Packaged/Box damaged/Extra paid to ship safely "doesn't include wooden box"

I can not speak to the quality of the ammunition, but my Yugo Surplus box arrived with minimal paper packing and the ammo box suffered chipping on almost every corner and edges, a cracked box slat, as well as quite a bit of paint loss.

I carefully looked at shipping options and, despite this statement: "... we will take care to use sturdy boxes, plenty of packing material, and lots of tape.", I chose to pay extra for full coverage packing protection.
"Why?" Because the box was an important part of the sale! I quote the advertisement:
"The Cyrillic stencilled wooden crate alone makes it well worth the price -- especially if you need a prop for the James Bond movie you're filming in your backyard."

I expected an ammo box with packing material taped around the box ("plenty of packing material and lots of tape." , …Right? There was NO extra tape anywhere and the box was a joke for this item's weight and material: ammo box is 20 x 12 x 6 inches; the packing box is 22.25 x 16.75 x 6.5 inches). The ammo box weighs 60.6 lbs and the shipping box has a crush rating of 65 lbs. and an edge crush weight of 32lb/inch). 8 sheets of paper wedged around it in a box with only inches of clearance ( Even a box within the box or a simple piece of cardboard taped around the wood would have prevented most of the damage incurred.

The inside of the shipping box included paint chips and wood splinters but I was told it appeared the damage was the shipper's fault and that the damage was commiserate with something that old DESPITE the obvious new wood chips and shiny metal under the paint loss). The INSIDE of the shipping box showed more wear and tear than the outside. I was told it was the shipping company's fault and since the ammo survived, I will just have to deal with the damage. I was shunted to 3 different "customer service" representatives who all blamed the shipper and offered me between $15 store credit and $50 refund for shipping on a $725 purchase.

DO NOT buy this ammo if you care about the box. DO NOT pay extra for safe shipping.

I spent thousands of dollars on ammo, and was extremely pleased. One shipment, FedEx didn't deliver the ammo, and BulkAmmo expected me to pay for it even though I didn't receive the ammo. BulkAmmo got mad that I did a chargeback on my credit card since they wouldn't refund my money after not receiving the ammo, they red-flagged my account and address. After long discussions with their customer service, they convinced me to pay for the missing shipment and they will remove the red flag and re-ship the ammo. A week later, I received the shipment and all was fine. A month later, I attempted to purchase more ammo, I was asked to take my business elsewhere.

User friendly website, easy to make an account. My order shipped same day. You will be prompted to chose Fedex or UPS.
DO NOT SHIP WITH FEDEX. My ammo has been out for delivery for 3+ days.

I have purchased ammo from Bulkammo 4 or 5 times. Every time, they were cheaper than everyone else, even with shipping. I used to buy at Walmart, but with their quantity limits and ever rising prices, Bulkammo beats them! Most of the time, the ammo arrives either next day or within 2 days, which is another added bonus. I recommend them to all my shooter friends and would recommend them to anyone else also.

I worried quite a bit about the quality of on-line ammo, and I know there are some not-so-good places out there, but based on reviews, I gave bulkammo.com a try and I have been very pleased. Heavily focused on customer service is the name of the internet game, and they did a great job. Fair price, good quality, easy to use web-site, fast shipping, reasonable shipping charges. I will be back.

Order placed for 1000rds of .40 S&W American Eagle ammo @ 2am (EST) 11-21-12. Received email conformation @ 10am 11-21-12 that the package was shipped via FedEx. Package arrived 11-24-12 @ 1pm.

I would recommend them to any of my closest friends as they have always taken the best care of me. Orders are always right and ship in a day, not weeks. I have never had an order take more than 3 or 4 days. They always check up after i receive them also. So, if you need ammo at a great price and you want it now... Have no fear, bulk ammo is here. I will never go any place else. I have put 2500 rounds of 9mm ammo through my px4 storm and it cost me less than 500 us dollars. that is proof positive.

I purchased 1000 Rounds of .45 ACP Ammo by Federal - 230gr FMJ from Bulk Ammo. Great price, quick delivery (to NJ!!!). Will definitely be ordering all of my ammo from them.

I have ordered from this site between 7 and 10 times in the last year, mostly for training and competition pistol ammo. Every single time the delivery has been prompt and accurate, and the price is very competitive. The over box option is also a nice touch, as I have to have packages left on my porch during the day, and I do not like advertising that it contains ammunition. Incredibly prompt and courteous service, and very reliable. Highly recommend.

I bought 300 rounds of 9mm with this retailer during the ammo shortage. I was leery about ordering this online but with such a limited number of boxes of ammo available I had little choice as I had a course I was going to in a couple weeks. It said that the ammo would ship the next day. I got a tracking number but the number did not work. However I did get the ammo with no problem. I have not shot the ammo yet but it is all there and looks to be in good condition. Over all A very positive experience. I have noticed that the cost of the ammo is a little higher then other places but I feel this may be because of the shortage. I will reassess once we get back on even keep with availability

I ordered 1000 rounds of Sellier & Bellot 140g; They sent much cheaper Lawman 147g- There's about an $80 difference from what I paid for, and what they sent- Pack slip is right; the product is wrong- What makes this even worse is this junk ammo doesn't feed- I'll buy from someone else from now on-

I have used Bulk Ammo a few times now and I must say I am very happy with them.I received what I ordered in good condition and in a timely maner. There pricing is good and the sales are even better.I looked at a few other sites and they also looked good (sometimes even less)until you get to the shipping cost. Bulkammo's shipping rates are fair (they do not charge twice as much shipping for 1000 rds than 500 rds ) some do. I will be using Bulk ammo as my main source of ammo in the future.

On the website they advertised a can of 500 rounds of .308, but they sent me 7.62x51. I had to drive 30 miles out of my way to get to a Fedex center which accepted hazardous material in order to return it. In the meantime I moved to a new state and could no longer have ammo delivered to my door. Rather than compensate me in any way for the extra trouble I would go through to receive the product I originally ordered, Bulkammo would only give me a store credit for the ammo I originally tried to purchase (which did not include shipping costs and tax).

I ordered 500 Rounds of .40 S&W Ammo by PMC - 180gr FMJFN, the shipping was expedient and the ammunition showed up in pristine condition. The folks at Bulk Ammo have been very helpful and have sent emails asking if I was happy with the product and their service, just like they were the guys down the street! Great company with great prices and a huge selection!!!

My ammo was easy to order and arrived in 3 days. After 300 rounds of 38 special a d 50 rounds of 357 mag not a single FTF. Excellent product with the best prices going. Looking anywhere else is just a waist of time. I will never again drive half an hour to Wal-Mart only to find out that the person I spoke to on the phone was confused about what I wanted. You see it. You order it. It comes right to your door.

I recently ordered a 1000 round case of Federal Champion 40 S&W over the phone for my family's use on the practice range. Having ordered ammunition several times in the past from Bulk Ammo, the transaction was smooth and the Customer Service person friendly and curtious. This was at 2:00pm. At 9:00am THE NEXT MORNING, my doorbell rang and my ammunition order was sitting on my front porch. I WAS ASTOUNDED! From picking up the phone to delivery was around 19 hours...unheard of service by anyone! I compliment Steven and his entire staff for their unbeliveble customer service and desire for excellence. Thanks!!!

UPDATE: On March 10th, Sandi from bulkammo.com contacted me by email and phone letting me know they were issuing my refund PLUS a $50 store credit for my inconvenience. As of today, March 13th, the refund has shown up. I have ordered a couple of boxes of ammo with my credit; if I receive it without incident, then hopefully we can just chalk up this experience to a singular poor logistics problem that isn't typical for the company. I'd still hesitate shipping a lot of a different kinds of ammo in one order until you are confident after a few orders they have their act in order. In the meantime, I DO plan on buying more ammo, but I intentionally plan on buying just a kind or two at a time to make things continue to go slowly. ONE thing is for sure - their prices are good. It's enough to back and try again!

On March 1st, 2012, I placed two orders. One for $297.50 and the other for $867.00. I received the first order fine. The second order is missing $660 (2000 rounds) of ammo. I called the same day; they said they would get back to me the next-day at the latest. I heard nothing so I called back at 4:00PM that next day. Was told the same thing. Did not hear anything again so I called back the next day at 3:00PM. Told the same thing. Today, I am filing for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE a chargeback with my credit card company. The weight of the order they said they shipped was only nineteen (19) pounds which obviously did NOT include the 2000 rounds of 40 S&W I ordered along with the other miscellaneous ammo I ordered. I have called a total of six times, talked to four different people, left two emails, four voicemails, and NADA. I have ordered with them in the past and had no problems - quick service, good product, fair price. This time, however, I learned that if they have a logistics problem at their end and you don't receive part of your order, they don't have a system in place to deal with it AT ALL. I'm VERY disappointed and will have to order my $660 worth of ammo when I get the credit back on my credit card. In my opinion, stay away - they are not ready for prime time.

We ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm 2 days ago....did not get the email with tracking number, but did not need it, as the shipment arrived at our door tonight. Excellent service and speedy delivery! There are not enough stars to rate this business! Will definately do business with them again.....and often.

I had to do a charge back because they sent me bad ammo it would not even fire I paid for 4 boxes of ammo only got 2 it was horrible they would not help at all I do not recommend shopping here!

Bulk Ammuno sold Remington 9mm ammunition at a great price. They were very reliable and efficient when delivering. I will definitely buy again.
