Called to confirm my order and was told that I needed to order the US version of the camera body and it was over $500 more than the one advertised. Tried to cancel the order. The customer service rep asked me to say please. I got annoyed and said, "Excuse me?" He said he wouldn't cancel the order unless I swallowed my pride and said please. When I refused, he threatened to charge me a $300 cancellation fee. I got angry and asked him to please cancel my f****ing order. Then he told me to be careful because he still has my credit card information. I was in shock and said, "Excuse me?" To which he replied, "I hope you like internet porn." and hung up on me.

I tried to purchase the Canon Powershot S3 IS from ccicameracity after seeing the great price online doing froogle search. I ended up purchasing it online. I later received an email saying to please call in. I did so and received an agressive upsale that was very condesending. They were pushing memory, straps, warrenty, etc, and for an extremely high extra cost. I said no of course. This made the person upset and start insulting me telling me I must not know about cameras, etc. Then was told it would take over 2 months to get one in that was stripped down like I wanted. I really didn't want it stripped down, as the camera normally comes with these items, but had no choice with their scam high costs for those items. I ended up calling them back that afternoon to try to cancel my order. They hung up on me three different times when I attempted to cancel. The last time they told me that I was to be charged a large restocking fee... even though they had already said it was not there and would take months to arrive. I got off the phone and ended up CANCELLING my CREDIT CARD w/ my bank ASAP and was lucky enough that they hadn't had time yet to charge against it. I would not give them any Credit Card number. You will end up having to do anything to keep those NY asses from stealing from you if you do. They will try to steal from you too if you order from them. Do not tempt fate. Order elsewhere and spread the word about those asses! Bananaboat appears to also be the same company as I called there afterwards and got a simular sounding person with the same tactics.

Scam artists - avoid at all costs
- rude customer "service"
- customer supposed to call in
- on-hold wait for over 15 minutes
- pushy rep trying to sell expensive accessories that should have been included (when I refused, I was told "don't waste my time")
- got hung up on by rude rep
- expensive shipping (UPS ground for $79.99 NY to Chicago for a camcorder)
- no shipping info (date, tracking) offered
- cancelled my CC; I don't trust these crooks

I am so dissapointed... I thought I was being so smart... I ordered a camera body only and then ordered a good lens, battery and charger from another company. Shipping for the camera was $30 and I was told it would arrive in 7-20 days because it was being shipped from overseas.... that was a month ago and it still hadn't arrived... I called today to see what was up and he said "oh do you want to order the battery?" and when I said that all I needed was the body he said it would be another 3-4 weeks... Fortunately I was never charged... I really believe that my ordered was just being ignored because I wouldn't order the expensive extra parts...

You listed a Nikon D200 (Body Only) for $569. I have call the store each month for the past four months. Still no camera in sight or will there ever be one. Why sell or offer something you have no intention of honoring. That's how it seem on this end. It would be nice to have the camera before I'm Dead.

Ten days after ordering a camcorder, I got a call from the store informing me that I bought a stripped down product (lacking items like battery, charger and cables that any other retailer includes) and that if I wanted the accessories necessary to make the item functional, the cost would practically double. When directly asked, the caller reluctantly admitted that the product I had bought was the Japanese market version (which of course would render the various buttons labeling and the extensive touch screen menus incomprehensible to me). When I informed the caller that in that case I wished to cancel the order, he hung up on me. Do not under ANY circumstances consider dealing with these con artists.

Hey,

I am sorry to report the same kind of stories with my purchase of a Canon 5D. Through the call back thing they seem to do to everyone, they ended up convinving me to buy a $3000 package in place of my $1600 order (body + lense) explaining to me the difference between the so called USA and import model, the "8 hour battery" and the need of UV filters and so on... I was then charged $3899, that is the price not including the canon rebate of $640 + and $250 of what they call shipping and handling. I called them a day later to cancel because I was not happy with spending all that money and the fact that they had charged me like that; they replied that because they did not want to loose me they would ship me a Sigma Flash for my camera overnight, which they actually did. But they did not send the updated rebate coupon from Canon. So I called again to tell them I was not happy and wanted to cancel. They told me that they wanted to keep their customers happy and so they would send me the updated coupon, with a Tamron lense 75-300. I did receive the Tamron lense, but not the rebate coupon. I found the coupon on the net, but then I realized that if I computed the elements of the package they had sold me individually, the overall price was lower than the price of the package ! So I called them to tell that I wanted to send everything back, and Ronnie tried to convince me that I had the USA model which was difference (plastic v. metal) and more expensive than the import model. I have read elsewhere on the net that this is BS.
He told me they had been very nice with me and that they could not do more than that to sweeten the deal. I said I was still unhappy and wanted to send everything back. He did give me the information I needed to do that.

As you can tell, my overal experience was not as horrible as some I have read so far, since they were never rude with me. But they still charged me $3350 (supposing I can have the canon rebate) for things I could get cheaper elsewhere, $350 without asking me. After reading all your posts, I am kind of worried: should I entrust these people to refund me while sending the camera back ? Not sure...

Overall, of course, I would not recommend those people and like other have said, I wish I had read these posts before !

Ordered a Canon 30D kit, got the email to call and confirm and was told no battery came with the camera which is a lie. After turning down the battery I was hung up on. I called back and they refused to sell me anything, just kept repeating, "YOU CANCELLED YOUR ORDER!!"
Really weird and terrible service. It's a sham. They are crooks.

I tried to order a Canon EOS 30D and a Sony HDR-HC3 along with an SLR lens and flash on Sunday. I figured what is the worst that can happen? I put up with a couple of hard sells and I don't get my stuff? My credit card will back me up, right? I called the next day after placing my order and confirmed prices and availability. Everything was in stock and the price I expected it to be. The guy tried to upsell me and I refused saying I already had everything I needed. I was told the order would ship the next day. So I called on Tuesday to confirm shipment. I was told the order shipped complete and I recieved a tracking number. When I looked up the tracking number, the box only weighed 1.5 pounds. My wife's lingerie order was 1.7 for crying out loud! I called again to confirm everything had shipped. I was told it shipped complete. I got the package on Wednesday. All I got was the flash. The receipt was for 60.00 more than the e-mail invoice and website price. This was listed as the cost of the item, there was not a separate line item for shipping. I called to find out where the rest of my stuff was. I was told my gray market items were backordered. But if I wanted to pay more, I could get the US version which was in stock.

I told him to cancel and told him I wanted to return the flash. He refused to give me an RMA. To make an already long story shorter, this guy actually claimed to be an attorney, he called me names, and even claimed the call was being recorded. I called my credit card company, there is nothing they can do even though I was charged more than I authorized. I was told I will have to work with the folks at CCI, as if that is possible. Expensive lesson learned. Never again will I try to cash in on a "deal" that seems too good to be true.

The Big Apple is Rotten!

I made an online order for a Nikon D200 DSLR at a great price. When attempting to confirm my order, I encountered rude sales people on two separate calls. Each attempted to force accessories on my order than I did not need nor want. I finally learned from the third sales person that the Nikon D200 DSLR I ordered was a non-USA product that was "fortunately" on back order. I was then offered an excessive price for the USA version. I canceled my order, never to do business with this SCAM Company again.

I placed an order on September 26 for a basic camera body, which was indicated as available. After three weeks, I was forced to call them (Sending an e-mail to their e-mail "Contact" only gets you a message to call them at a (toll) number. They then tried to upsell me an identical camera with over $500 of "accessories" as part of a "package". I refused, and they then said the product would ship in two weeks. That was four weeks ago and no product. Ultimately cancelled the order with no delivery!! This is a cheap marketing tactict to offer a product which they do not have and have no intention of providing - they want you to call them and buy a bunch of "accessories" which cost half as much as other stores. Stay away!!!

I placed the web order on 4/18 and I have been trying to contact the company over the phone for several hours. NO ONE seems to be home !! I sent an e-mail to cancel the order. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS VENDOR. They are also associated with http://www.ccicameracity.com/
and http://www.tcscamera.com/info.html they appear to be the same entity. I called both places but no one answer the phone

I too ordered a Canon 30D w/premium package. I did not receive a confirming email as expected, so call to see if they had received the order. Upon checking my order, the rep began to pitch an upgrade to a package with two lens. I declined.

I did verbally accept an additional battery and charger for ease of mobility, although his attempt was to say the package didn't come with a battery. I didn't argue that fact but completed the purchase. I requested a final balance and was quoted $1138.

I still did not receive any email about my order so checked my credit card account and noticed a authorization request (not actual charge yet) for $1698. I attempted to contact their customer service but to no avail. I continued to let the phone ring until a forced disconnect by the phone company. I did this exercise 6 times for a total of 12 minutes of ringing!

I contacted their customer service the next morning after four 2 minute ring sessions. When I attempted to correct the order, I was told I had authorized the changes. I replied that I had not. At this point, Ronnie got very rude and began to tell me that changing my mind was not a refundable option (the person the day before said I had 21 days to see if I liked the product).

Ronnie began to tell me to shut up. My reply was "No, you need to shut up and listen and cancel the order." He became extremely rude and continued to tell me to shut up and listen. He finally said "Shut the f*** up!" I responded with "Excuse me? You need to shut the f*** up!" At this point he replied "Shut the f*** up! I'm going to cut your f****** lips off!". I was astounded. Although I did not have my tape recorder handy (I use it to record conference calls), I informed Ronnie I was taping this conversation and would report this incident to the BBB and Federal Trade Commission. I was also going to check on legal actions.

I finally hung up as he continued to ramble on, but in a much changed tone. I've contacted the BBB of NYC (www.newyork.bbb.org) and the Federal Trade Commission. I have also posted my experience on ripoffreport.org and this site. I find their website (royalcamera.com) displaying a 5 star merchant for everyprice.com and shopcartusa.com truly stercoraceous!

Additionally, my cc account must be changed and the charge disputed.

I ordered a Canon Powershot A540 camera. A salesperson called to confirm the next day and indicated I could get a complete package including rechargeable batteries and charger, a 32 Meg memory card, lens cleaning kit, etc. I thought memory, batteries, etc were already included, but he said this was the "Chinese Version, not the US version". I was in the middle of a busy day at work, and bumping the price from $133 shipped to $199 shipped I was in the ballpark for the price this camera plus all of the accessories should have been so I agreed. Also, got talked into a case for an extra $10. When I received the camera, it was NOT an A540, it was an A550 (I had previously compared these two models and decided NOT to get the 550). They charged me $229. The lens cleaning kit, batteries and charger were not there, and neither was the upgraded memory card. The box was open, and it looked like a piece of the warranty card was removed. I contacted my credit card company and indicated I was going to dispute this. The charge had already cleared, so it could not be stopped. I contacted camera city and they said they would send out the missing items, but I said I didnt want the camera they sent, and I wanted to return it. They said if the recording of the salesman said that he said he was going to send me an updated model, that I would be subject to a restocking fee of 19 and change. Also, I see that they indicate on their web site that if any paperwork or anything is removed, that they will not accept returns. Since part of the warranty card was removed, I wonder if they will try to use that to say I defaced the paperwork to avoid paying me??? Ive never been scammed doing business over the internet, but I guess there's always a first time. I will be returning this item in tomorrow, and my dispute form from to the credit card company will be completed and mailed as well. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

I purchased a Nikon D50 online and after reading all of the bad reviews, I thought that I should call and check things out. So after sitting on hold for 15 minutes...I got a rude guy who gave me another number to call. After calling them, I was asked first...did I change or ad anything to me order...when I said no...I was transferred to someone else. This lady proceeded to inform me that what I purchased was the Japanese model and it would be $250 more to get the US model. The japanese model was with no warranty and if there was a problem it had to be sent back to Japan to be serviced. So I cancelled my order. She would not give me any confirmation number though...so I will be checking my account online daily!!!

Not knowing what I know now, I saw this incredible deal on their web site for a Nikon D50 camera body. I ordered it off their web site. A day later I received an email saying I need to call to "confirm" my order. When I did, I spoke with Max, a REALLY rude guy who insisted I needed a certain type of memory, a certain type of battery and some other stuff at ridiculous prices. I said I would call back (because it was really expensive, and I needed to figure out where I was gonna get the money from to pay for this). He was really rude about that, but I did, then I called him back and said I couldn't afford it right now, just cancel the order. A few minutes later my wife called and said just order what I needed (yes, I respect her opinion). So I happily called Max back. He was really cocky about me not making up my mind, but then proceeded to tell me that this was JUST the camera body. No strap, no software, no CD, no cables, nothing but the body, and there was no warranty. Forget that. He had me so ticked off I hung up on him. EXTREMELY rude service.

As it turns out, they're not the only company like this. MOST of the camera companies online are like this. I noticed a pattern. On their web sites, they all have the exact hours of operations - closed saturdays, etc., and when you call them, they all have the exact same menu system (but with a different company name and voice). My guess is that they are the same company or owner. Whatever the deal, most of these camera companies from New York are ridiculously rude. I'm not going to give anyone $800+ of my hard-earned money if they're going to be rude and obnoxious.

I ordered online the Canon SD900 for a price of $320 w/ shipping the total came to $349.99
I then got a phone call from a pleasant sales person asking me if I would prefer to have the longer lasting battery and charger for the camera and also a larger memory card. Now since I planned on us ing this Cam for under water photography I said yes, didn't want to be running out of battery juice in the middle of a dive.

they never gave me a price, stated they would email me a new confirmation/order total which they never did.

how I sent 2 emaisl requestions an update on my order, I had ordered numerous things that week for holiday gifts and they were the only ones who did not email me a tracking #.

I got an email reply advising me to call their 718 number. which I did and was finally given
a tracking number/shipping information

I get my camera, and a 128mb card. the so called better battery and charger. well....

the batter, charger that came w/ the camer comes standard per the camera box... and my card was ch arged $549.96

so essentially I've paid $199 for a 128mb card which goes for roughly $20

I tried to call them friday however ended up w/ a very nasty salesperson who did not even bother to identify himself or if I called CCI he just very nastily kept asking me what do you want...

I'm filing a complaint with my credit card and anyone else who I can
