I found exactly the pear tree I wanted quickly and easily on their website at an excellent price. It arrived extremely quickly, safely packaged in recyclable/compostable materials. I highly recommend this nursery.

Very good and informatiove website. They were able to supply exactly the trees I required and they arrived in perfect condition, with almost no plastic packaging, almost the next day. I could not recommend them more.

My order of a pear and plum tree was delivered very promptly and the quality of the trees and the packaging was very good. The nursery followed up the delivery and so I am sure will offer any after care I may need.

Do not touch this company, I bought a nectarine tree that came covered in leaf curl and leaves Half eaten. When emailed I just got a rude response from John Bowers claiming this normal. Where I except this can happen to fruit trees you don’t expect new ones to arrive in such a poor state, every leaf has dropped off and withered, the tree trunk had a split in and it’s just died. Iv had to put a PayPal refund complaint in that’s gone ignored so he’s also making me wait for my refund. As a disabled person who just relies solely on online shopping and reviews you trust these people, well not this one. I wouldn’t buy again.

After ordering I received an email offering early delivery of my gooseberry bush. It arrived quickly and well protected. I was also offered advice on planting and maintenance. Great service. Would recommend.

This nursery is excellent. The plants are very healthy and strong. The prices are very good and postage is surprisingly cheap. They even deliver to the Highlands and there is no punishing postage added. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would buy from them again and they get full marks. Many thanks!

Customer service 5* Price - good sized plants that you would expect for the price. Delivery 5* I've ordered 7 grape vines through Chris Bowers. The vines have arrived healthy and happy and grown on really well. Delivery to Northern Ireland was promote and date through DHL. The vines were ordered in separate orders and the Reason for a dropped star is that the leaves on two plants supposed to be the same don't match. That said I'm sure they will help me with identification of the varieties when I contact them.

Impressive list of fruit trees on web site , all said to be home grown and reasonably priced. Ordering easy and descriptions generally accurate though could be more informative as to size of each tree as delivered. Delivery offered for late Autumn which was Ok, but in fact items delivered within 2 weeks of order. Arrived well packaged with ample straw packing to keep trees in good condition. The Courier clearly took some care in delivering the package undamaged. Yet to see how the trees will grow but so far well pleased with my purchase.

Exemplary treatment from Chrisbowers Nursery. Springtime order was thwarted by Covid19, but I repeated it a couple of weeks ago and was asked whether I would like part delivery in containers now instead of in the autumn. Carefully packed Supercolumn apple trees have just arrived here in the South West, one day after being sent off from Norfolk. They are about 1.5 metres high and look sturdy and full of life with no sign of disease, and they have been properly pruned for their intended purpose. I'm very impressed by this nursery's products and procedure.

Ordered strawberries which didn't arrive. Yes we received a prompt credit but the whole customer service process is archaic. Telephone calls are not answered. No email confirmation. And ought of stock product advertised as available.

I would like to summarise my trading experience with you, please feel free to use as a testimonial, as the ad says 'if Carlsberg did tree nurseries' they should just rebrand yours. From my first enquiry I received prompt replies with confirmation re delivery times etc and recommendations re which tree might suit best. The tree arrived as promised and I was delighted with the condition, pot size and roots. The packaging was also excellent and 'eco', very impressed with the dry grass! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you and will certainly bore my gardening friends with tales of your service.

Speedy delivery of 2 cordon trained apple trees; 'Limelight' (eating apple) and 'Reverend W Wilks' (cooker). The trees are usually very good quality from this company. Just a couple of times over the years, I received the wrong tree. Once I actually received a what turned out to be a fan trained plum, although I ordered a 'Kestrel;' peach fan trained. This was planted in my polytunnel over 18 months ago, I e-mailed them up on receiving the tree, as I suspected the leaves looked like a plum, not the long pointed leaves of a peach, which I recognise as I already grow peaches on my allotment. They replied to my e-mail and said 'it is a peach!' - sorry, but I am 110 per cent sure after 18 months it is NOT a peach tree, but a plum tree, 'the juvenile leaves can sometimes look like a plum I was told'. in the e-mail from the nursery. On another occasional, I ordered a 'Humboldt' nectarine fan trained tree and it now has fruits on it - not smooth, but with the furry texture of a peach - not a nectarine. A third mistake has been made when I ordered a 'Pineapple' nectarine tree, again fan trained, this time it is again a peach, because it has a furry skin on the fruit and is already has quite large peaches on it in Mid May inside my allotment greenhouse - so is infact an early variety of peach and NOT a 'Pineapple' nectarine. I have a nectarine tree, so I know how tho recognise the smooth skin of the fruit, compared to a peach. Are these genuine mistakes or do they just want to get rid of varities of fruit tree, where they have a surplus and have sold out of the variety I requested? 3 incorrect trees delievered, but do they realise that most people can't be bothered to complain after 18 months by which time it has only become apparent that they have been sent an incorrect type of fruit tree? The quality of the trees is generally good, but they are sending out incorrect trees for some reason; I have had the wrong type of tree sent on 3 occasions. I can't be bothered arguing with them/complaining or the hassle.time of having to dig up the trees I have now planted and had growing for 18 months.

I placed this first order for two named vines (a black and a white in Autumn 2016 ) and upon delivery both were duly planted in my new greenhouse together with their attached variety tags, however when fruiting in summer 2017 both turned out to be black. I sent them an email to let them know and without my email being acknowledgement the correct White variety turned up soon after, however I've now ended up with two black vines with their questionable labelling which is a shame as I've always wanted a Black Hamburg vine since first seeing it as a child growing In nearby Hampton Court . Despite this I gave them the benefit of doubt and in Autumn 2017 placed a second order via email and acknowledged by them for the strawberry order and assumed that as the order had been placed late in the season I'd receive them in spring 2018 However weeks later I felt rather stupid when my bank statement arrived stating payment had been refunded and after checking my account with them found no sign of my order ever having been placed. Today I decided to reorder the strawberries only to find it will now cost me £10 more for the same thing which has enraged me.

I ordered 3 gooseberry bushes and 2 currant bushes, all as bare too plants. The delivery was fine, they arrived in November and planted up into the prepared bed. In the spring, it took a while (with the cold spring) for the plants to shoot. It became evident that one of the five plants was dead, no shoots, leaves or anything. i waited another couple of months, and sent a photo of the bed, also showing the 'live' plants, and stated that that gooseberry in question must have been dead on delivery. I asked for a refund or a replacement. But Chris Bowers said that because I had not reported the faulty plant immediately, they would not do anything! Rather difficult to tell if a bare root plant is live or dead!!

I bought a victoria plum tree as a present for my daughter. I have over 50 years' experince as a gardener and have planted many trees, including fruit trees. I knew as soon as it arrived it was a feeble tree, half the size of one I bought for myself from a decent supplier and with virtually no growth on it. The decent supplier had sold out. Bowers hadn't.) I complained and Bowers more or less told me I didn't know what I was talking about. The tree, unsurprisingly, died within a year. I do a fair amount of internet purchasing, and this is the most ill-informed and unscrupulous firm I've had the misfortune to deal with. I'd advise anyone to avoid them. There are competent tree supplieers available so why buy rubbish?

I chose Chris Bowers because his website made it quite clear that they only sold trees which they had grown themselves. So many other websites seem to sell 'everything' whereas I was looking for a specialist grower. My queries by email were answered very quickly and armed with their advice I was able to swiftly place my order. My two peach trees arrived in perfect condition - not a limp or damaged leaf in sight, due, no doubt, to all that dried grass lovingly placed around each one. I am about to order some more fruit trees and will definitely go back to Chris Bowers - why go elsewhere when everything is perfect here?
