This order was a first one for me with this firm. The total value was over $1400, of which $1100 was for a new transmission.

The shipment arrived by UPS in a totally destroyed condition. The 66 lb transmission was loose in an oversize wooden crate and had punched holes in both ends of the crate, damaging many of the loose parts thrown carelessly in the box along with the heavy transmission. The crate itself was obviously set up for fork truck handling but the shipment had gone out via normal (not truck freight) UPS service and as the drivers have only a 2-wheel dolly, they had stood the crate on end to be able to move it. The transmission had likely sustained internal damage when the 66 lb weight had slammed down on the fragile shift linkage input shaft (manual transmission).

I contacted CIP1 to inform them of the damage and request a replacement be shipped. The initial contact with customer service was turned over to someone representing themselves as an owner, who then assured me that there had been no damage to the transmission and that I should install it and they would make good on the warranty if it turned out something bad had happened. As the cost of installation is considerable, and as I had paid $1100 for a new (read undamaged) transmission, I refused receipt of the entire shipment and had it returned to CIP1.

Then begins the name calling and threats from CIP1. I was accused of not following RMA procedures. Duh, this was a damaged shipment, no RMA required. Ultimately I was able to obain a full refund from my credit card company, thanks to the careful documentation I kept and the digital pictures of the destroyed shipment.

Bottom line for me, this firm is clearly not in business to do business and is emplying total nitwits in their shipping department. Why they would blame the customer for what is a total failure to adequately package and secure a heavy shipment is beyond me.

I purchased a rebuilt transmission from a firm in California, who knows how to ship transmissions, and am quite happy at last.

I've been ordering from CIP for over 20 years. Always really friendly when asking technical questions, and orders are always shipped fast and accurate.

I have purchased parts through CIP1 for years and been happy with the parts. Recently I ordered a Poly-Seat. $71 and $19 shipping. The seat arrived wraped in saran wrap. No box. The seat had some minor rash damage but since it was going to be out in the real world It was OK with me. When I set the seat where it would be installed it was too high. The base is raised up 5 or so inches and the seat was so high my head hit the overhead. There was nothing in the description about the thick base, only the total height. So I tried to return the seat. The not so polite little girl gave me a RMA number but said I had to box it even thought CIP1 hadn't. I took the seat the the local UPS and was told it would cost $73 to ship it back!!! And that the seller probably had got a deal on the shiping and maybe they would send me a return shipping label. I call the little girl again and asked for a return shipping label and was denied. I offered to pay for the label the $19 they had paid. But she said NO! She then told me that they got the seats from several manufacturers and the description was accurate?? Then I asked for the manager but she said no I could not speak with him but she would. I waited on the phine for a wopping 30 seconds until she came back and said he had denied the return and they got the seat from only one manufacturer and the description was accurate and CIP1 didin't have to take it back. So now I have an unuseable seat and am unable to get satisfaction from CIP1. So here is the deal. If just one person reads this and decides not to purchase from them then they have lost the profit from the transaction. DON'T SHOP HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY INTENTION OF SENDING AN ITEM BACK. THESE POEPLE ARE NOT THE SAME AS THEY WERE YEARS AGO AND THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND KEEP YOUR MONEY. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER PLACES TO SHOP. MY LOCAL GUY IS PRICED SO REASONABLY THAT IT'S ALMOST THE SAME PRICE IN THE END AND IT SUPPORTS THE LOCAL BUSINESS. HE JUST DIDN'T HAVE A SEAT OR I WOULD HAVE SHOPED WITH HIM.

I purchased some sheetmetal for a VW Bus from CIP-1 in January. After inspecting the parts and attempting to install them, I determined that they were not going to work. They were poorly manufactured and would not line up. I contacted them and they said there was nothing wrong with the parts but would take them back but would not refund any of the shipping costs unless they detemined that they were in fact defective. Of course they determined the parts were not defective. The only way to determine this is to install them on the vehicle which they did not do.
