I left organising my travel insurance until the last minute and they were very friendly to deal with and organising it was a breeze. Bonus was the very reasonable price.

I have used Columbus for the last 8 years, and am always very happy with service, price and coverage. I'm sure I will continue with Columbus for all future travel.

I have used Columbus Insurance for a few years now and each time I'm not disappointed. Their quotes are quick, very reasonable and cover all our requirements. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I recently went on a trip and got cheap travel insurance and my daughter got sick. Not only was I unable to call someone and ask the question what I would be covered for in the event the airline refused us boarding but I was charged an international phone rate to call the emergency line. I'm quite disgusted and I will never be taking out insurance with this company again.

My wife and I took out a one month worldwide policy for a multi-part trip in October 2017. I have used Columbus for over 10 years, and at least 15 different trips I have records for, and always liked their clear and easy website for purchasing policies. I'd never actually made a claim until this time. Then I discovered what they are really like! Trust me, you want to avoid them!

Firstly, there's the delays. It took 2 weeks of contacting them to even get a claims form emailed to us. Then the processing delays kick in. Weeks pass with no updates. Then finally, the questions begin. Receipts aren't enough poof of costs incurred - please provide bank statements; you must provide a medical diagnosis report; you must provide flight details that exactly align with the dates the policy covers (god forbid you have a policy that extends a day beyond your return!). And still no sign of a conclusion. This is for a AUD$200 claim for minor medial treatment in Oman, over 3 months ago - I'm now having to try and contact the medical centre there for a diagnosis report for an hour of treatment. I've spent hours and hours on completing Columbus' myriad array of forms and emails, all clearly intended to drive you away in confusion and weariness. I probably won't ever get my money from these crooks, but I can do my upmost to hit their business by alerting everyone I know (and those I don't!)

We have had an annual policy for many years with Columbus, and even had a small claim which went through seamlessly, so of course when we wanted a policy to cover a 4 month holiday, Columbus was our first stop. Of course we checked others, but Columbus was the best by far.

I have used Columbus Direct for the past 4 years for a total of 10 Cruises, to date I have not had to make a claim, I have found their prices to be very competitive and I like the fact that they are underwritten by Lloyds of London

I have used Columbus Direct a few times now and their prices are comparable and staff always helpful. I was recommended them by others who had used them and who were happy with them.

I had a hassle free experience and was covered adequately on my recent business trip to South Korea. I thank all concerned for their assistance when I extended my stay and hence my cover and I will be using your service again, whenever I travel overseas.

I couldn't claim my cancelled flights due to Zika virus in Thailand. Am pregnant & bought the policy before being aware warning was issued on same day. Staff didn't even know the warning had been issued however I was expected to know this. When employees in the industry are unaware of such warnings why are their customers expected to know this. Completely unjust in my opinion particularly when my Obstetrician gave me a certificate recommending I do not travel due to the updated warning. They also ignored the fact I had booked my accommodation for Thailand in January 2015 a whole year before the Zika outbreak occurred. Disappointed and disgusted. Will never bother with Colombus again.

I've had a transplant 3 years ago and this is the only insurance company that would provide me with medical cover and didn't cost an arm and a leg. This is the second time I am taking out a policy and couldn't be more happy with the ease of getting cover arranged online. Highly recommend to others; from simple cover to those with more complex needs like myself.

Have used Columbus quite a few time over the past ten years. Have not had any bad experiences in that time. If the situation ever arises when I do need to make a claim...Lets hope all ends well for me.

I have spent hours and several emails on gaining under $100 for accommodation from Columbus direct for being sent to another opposite direction destination . I stilll doesn't understand why this happened and my ticket was not released for my flight by another airline. I was sent on a 50+ hour trip, over 2 days, without a shower or accommodation from Canada to Australia when I purchased a 30 hour trip itinerary. Columbus reneged by saying that they needed an explaination form the airline. The airline could not explain why this occurred. I sent all boarding passes, itnineraies and payment details, including the accommodation receipt to validate what had happened. My check-in number confirmed that I was not late for the flight. I would not reccommend Columbus direct. Spend your inurance dollar elsewhere.

I made a claim years ago and it was handled very efficiently. Now we are retired and are travelling more often. i can't say more to make it to minimum words.

Have been using Columbus for some time now don,t seem to get any reward for return custom in fact the price of the policy is beginning to get quite high maybe have to start searching for better rate.In saying that have had no hassles with them what so ever made a couple of claims over the last 10 years with no problems

We have just taken out annual insurance for the third year, this year we had a claim and it was handled as good as you could expect for an insurance company, if we are traveling through the year next year we will be taken out insurance with them again.

The person was polite and helpful in setting up the quote BUT when I rang back to pay the quote (Couldn't do it on line because there were existing conditions) I waited on the phone for 55 minutes, got answered and got accidentally disconnected and then had to wait about another half hour. They covered me for existing conditions which made the policy quite expensive, I would have preferred not to have been covered for the existing condition and had a cheaper policy. I originally started using Columbus because they were cheaper than others but once there is an existing condition or 2 or 3..., the price goes up and up and up. I am not sure that they then compare with others. This time I decided to take the policy with out checking with other companies because of time pressure but in future i will be comparing prices again.

I have been a member now for 2 years but have yet to make a claim so not sure how good they are until that time.
The policy has everything I wanted with the usual restrictions as other policies.
So far so good
recommended but read the small print.
