on-time

4 weeks with no response on our claim .... and 1hour + waiting on the phone to their claims department - with out being answered . Clearly the Banking Royal Commission should extend its enquiry into the off shoot businesses run by the Banks.

have had this card for a few decades, the best bit is being able to control how it is used via netbank, i can turn tap on and off, i can disable international payments in store and online, if anything looks fishy they call me up to ask, I pay the whole balance off every month so don't have interest charges, overall happy with the service.

I’ve been using my Platinum Debit Card for some time now and it’s great to have the added benefits of extended warranty on compatible products, however it was a shame that they got rid of the included insurance without being notified

I applied for a personal loan on January 1, 2011 and on January 4 I had the money into my bank account. The process was very quick and easy as I was an existing customer with the bank. The staff are really helpful. The loan I have gets direct debited from my bank account on my pay day and I can (and do) pay additionally so that the loan is paid off early. To pay off the loan off early, unless the term is more than 2 years there is a $125 fee but to me I don't mind paying the fee because it's peace of mind knowing that my loan is gone. The staff at my nearest branch to work (Northcote, Victoria) could not be friendlier as they try and they always greet me by name as I enter the branch to conduct my banking. Only improvement that I could suggest about this loan would be to reduce the $125 fee but otherwise all is well!
I like that by having this loan with the bank that all of my banking products are still with the one financial institution.
The interest rate is a little steep

We have used the complimentary travel insurance for over 10 years and have made claims which were well handled (Zurich). The Bank changed their insurance provider to Allianz who have just refused a claim, much to our surprise.
I always read insurance policies carefully but in the change major exclusions came into play. In my case no claim can be made for anything associated with mental health. So when my son suddenly had a problem (after I had booked my trip) I can receive no coverage. When I tried to complain to the bank they put me through to "Commonwealth Travel claims Manager" who was an Allianz employee, not a bank employee.

12 months earlier the insurance covered mental health issues.

Stay clear of CBA.

I have been a loyal customer of CBA for many years. I had my car stolen in November 2016. Comminsure advised me after 2 weeks that they would be investigating my claim. Another 2 weeks later the first investigator contacted. He was so rude and demeaning, asking such personal information such as mental health issues etc. I had to ask him to leave. They sent out the second investigator who requested such personal information like 6 months worth of bank statements, mobile phone records, telephone records, medical history, criminal history, traffic history, service history for the vehicle... It goes on and on. I refused to supply such personal information and argued with Comminsure as to how this would assist them with my claim. The police even know who stole my car and STILL they will not give the panel beater the go ahead to fix my car. The car is even driveable and only has $1500 worth of damage! It's now February and I still have no car. I could have been driving my car for the last 4 months instead of paying thousands of dollars in hire cars. I'm absolutely disgusted by Comminsures lack of empathy and compassion for any of their customers in a situation such as mine. As soon as this is over, I can cancel my policy. I will never insure with them again. I will also be changing over all my bank accounts, home and contents policy & life insurance policy as soon as I can. I do not trust CBA anymore. This bank does not adhere to their product disclosure statement. Plain and simple.. do not insure with this company. Their policy is... Try everything to get out of paying a claim.

I had an accident, where I was hit from behind and I provided all the details including the pictures of the accident. The still made me pay 600$ excess fee and when asked when am I going to get it back, they said that they were not able let to locate the person, as he is not picking the phone and going for the claim legally will cost more so they closed the file and I didn't get my money back. I immediately changed my insurance with them. They are robbers.

Great credit card for day to day use. Purchase interest rate is just 13.34% p.a and 55 days interest free which are really good.

This credit card comes with comprehensive international insurance cover. I have used it twice. Really easy to activate before flying overseas. Best part of this cover is available for not only the card holder, but for the spouse and kids (up to 10).

I highly recommend Commonwealth Bank Low Rate Gold credit card.

I have been using this card for 3 years now and I havent had any complaints. You can use everywhere too. In fact when I went overseas I used my card to do my shopping and I didnt have any problems. I also used it for those emergency cash advances. The fees are low and wouldnt really harm your pockets. It is also great to use to do your online shopping.I have used it many times to buy things and services online shopping. Actually I have used it for my everyday transaction paying bills grocery shopping etc. A must have credit card for everyday use.
low rate and accepted anywhere
hope they can improve the card itself make it more attractive and be available in different colours.

Tried calling CBA
Still on call waiting the last 45 minutes.
Just terrible.
The call waiting music really does your head in after a few minutes....
I managed to speak to someone who tried to authenticate me, said I didnt have an account with CBA, so she transferred me through to another dpt, back on call waiting.
Really really lousy service. Call wait times in excess of 15 minutes are too long.

1 hr 53 mins so far, and still waiting.
All I want to know is how much will it cost to break my loan agreement with the commonwealth bank.
Long phone queues, high interest rate in comparison to others, plus a yearly cost for the loan.
When there is a rate cut from the Reserve bank, the CBA doesn't pass it on (the last time).
Then the CBA has the gall to write to everyone that they will automatically reduce everyone's payment to the minimum to help during Covid-19.
If you really wanted to help, at least pass on the interest rate cut, rather than pocketing the extra saving for yourself.
Most people are smarter than that and can see through this deception.
In the long term, playing the long game, the bank will make a bucket load in extra interest due to the increased term of the loan.
That is taking advantage of a already bad situation.
Time for a change.

Even after taking in documentation to prove that my father is dying, the bank will not allow him access to his term deposit account. Vietnam veteran who has been a loyal customer to commonwealth bank for 54 years. What a disgrace, you have taken away the only control that my father had left in his life. He is dying and you still can’t allow him access to his hard earned money.

Was great a few years ago - paying a fairly competetive interest rate of 5%+ now its merely 1.8%. I mean - why even bother. Taking my money out.

The Commonwealth Bank NetBank Saver is an excellent account to have if you are an internet buyer/seller. It is a more secure option as a secondary, additional account if you are an online seller (not that any online banking is secure, but as secure as one can hope for!), such as with Paypal etc, preventing one from having to give unknown companies ones principal account number; i.e. if you are cheated you don't lose absolutely everything! This is an account that can only be accessed by transferring the money directly out of it and into your main account. Designed as a savings account, this makes an excellent holding account and secondary direct debit/deposit account for online transactions particularly as it has no monthly fees.
It's free. It's secure to use for online money transfers, deposits and direct debits.
Nothing. Having to transfer money to other accounts to be accessible via card/eftpos can be a bit of a nuisance, but a good preventative to on-spec spending.

We cancelled our trip to Lombok after the earthquakes. We submitted a claim for our return air fares. We included letters from the airlines proving that we did not take the flights.
Two days after the submission, we received a call to advise us that our claim was succesful.
A further two days and the correct amount of fund was deposited in our account.
We are very happy with this travel insurance and will continue to use the product.

Made original claim on 16/10 - floorboard damage. Organised plumber (at own cost) to inspect pipes in case they were leaking and found them not to be.
2 x consultants sent out, neither of which were floor specialists (which they stated in their reports). Both were making factually incorrect statements that could not have been the cause of the damage Claim was rejected in December.
I then escalated to Customer Relations team disputing the decision and was told to provide a report from a certified specialist as my own information wasn't enough.
Sent through report (at my own expense) stating the reason for the floor damage (leaking dishwasher). Followed up a week later and have been told the claim has closed off and the case manager refuses to speak with me.
Now having to take it to the Customer Advocate. The story continues.

They do anything to get out of a claim,
For a small patch up job due to storm damage they dragged it out after getting two maintenance people to look at the job.
They will insure you but never pay on 2 accounts. I’m done with them and would advise no one to get house Insurance not bank though them, in process of closing all accounts with them.

If you don't expect to have a not-at-fault accident in the next 10 years, then CommInsure offers great prices. But if you're unlucky enough to be in an accident, it'll be cheaper to go with a more reliable and reputable insurance company. CommInsure will charge you excess up front - regardless of fault, and then will do nothing more on the case.

My case was a clear-cut case: my vehicle was parked and another driver reversed into it. I exchanged details with the other driver and passed them onto CommInsure.

After my car was repaired, I was required to pay the $700 excess before the car was released, even though they agreed that I was not-at-fault in this accident. They then told me I will get this back when they recover it from the other insurance company. It has been 5 months since the accident and they still have not recovered the money.

Since paying that excess, there has been no progress on the case. Each of the 9 times I've call up, I'm told someone will "look into it and call me back". I have never received a call back. The damage on the vehicle may have been less than $700 to fix, so they are content taking the money and calling it a day.

Additionally, their PDS states that excess will be waived in accidents where the vehicle is parked and details are provided. When I brought this up with them, I was told it doesn't apply to my specific case and the excess still applies.

No customer service (or wait, as I do too often one+ hour on phone), expensive fee ($249), exorbitant rate of interests (20.24 to 21.24%) and rewards are a "joke" (e.g. half a point for dollar spent!). CBA & VISA have devalued for ever the word 'PLATINUM' attached to a card.
