My husband and I have for the second year purchased Cover-More annual multi trip travel insurance with Cover-More, hearing that this cover does not cover us for any of our upcoming trips as it falls into the pandemic crisis was disappointing but not surprising, what is surprising and very annoying is being on hold for 185 minutes and counting, I have also attempted to contact them online so far that also is useless, this will be our last Cover-More purchase I simply can’t imagine how useful they would be if me or my family had an urgent problem, I do consider myself to be a patient understanding person and fully grasp that these are difficult times but this is a business that took no time at all processing my credit card and have nothing in place to answer questions from loyal customers. Shame on you Cover-More

I had to cancel my travel due to coronavirus pandemic and sent email in early march to advise I would like to cancel my Insurance
I have STILL NOT been advised nor contacted
I would like to know if I am to be refunded as I have not used this insurance

Provide a refund for the cost of policy when your trip is cancelled.Have more people to answer queries was on hold for 45 minutes then call just hung up

Since interstate travel has been banned and I had to cancel my first trip of the year, I have heard nothing from Cover-More which is quite frankly appalling.

Had to cancel our trip due to the COVID-19 as a result cover-more will not refund 100% of the funds even though there is an international travel ban on with the potential to last up to next year. Even though our trip is not until the end of the year they decided to withhold funds from the refund.

My proposed trip was to begin on May 152020 but has been postponed until next year. This means that my insurance cover is no longer relevant. am planning the same trip in June 2021 and am curious to know whether Cover-More will honour the policy I paid for in February 2020.

Well paying is easy but i haven't made a claim in 3 years. Meaning I'm not sure how good the service is when the money is going the other way. Also are you still offering the same insurance at the same price with the Covid outbreak?

Policy purchased Nov 2019 for an upcoming trip to the USA in September! Policy type Premium! Air Canada cancelled flight effective April sighting potential travel restriction which couldn't be verified if they would still be enforced at the time of our planned departure! We have been forced to change/cancelled & alter travel plans losing our booking fees with the Criminal Syndication AirBnB who have upheld cancellation policy as it was deemed a change of mind cancellation! "Our Flight were Cancelled via no choice of our own" When accepted our policy Cover-More had upsold us the cancel for prior to departure policy to the value of $10,000.00. At no time did Cover More stipulate Pandemic or Epidemic when they sold us this policy in November 2019! Cove-More is now refusing to cover any losses relying on the General Term! What happens if the location decided to allow passage/travel as the region deemed open for travel? This insurance company is clearly profiteering from this event and will clearly increase its revenue throughout FYE20/21 due to not honouring the majority of policies in the market! This claim is supported via this simple example! If CoverMover Sells $1million in policies for travel and set aside $300K for possible claims arising from the Sale they would have $700K for OPEX! Now, let's add the general clause Pandemic / Epidemic exclusion this means the insurance company could set aside (declined) 95% of the claims on the grounds of the general clause meaning they would now have $950K for OPEX. Insurance is a fraud I struggle to understand why I would take-up further policies when companies like Cover-More will clearly benefit from a black swan event at the expenses of the general public. This has been made worse when Cover-More will only refund a proportion of your policy claiming they have provided cover yet they are excluding you from making any claims due to the General Term Pandemic / Epidemic! To rub further salt into the wound if you decide to lodge a claim which is 99% likely to be declined you will no longer be entitled the proportional refund! I challenge anyone who thinks that the insurance companies are not benefiting from everyone missed fortune! What is the real advantage of paying for additional policy outside of medical expenses when travelling on before the time of travel? Why is the ACCC allowing the general public to be defrauded via insurance giant who lobbies the Government YOY for an increase to insurance premium without real justification! I feel ashamed that I've allowed myself to be ripped off and deceived via CoverMore! My action plan Never Use CoverMore and lobby my local minister for regulation change to prevent these fraudulent activities from continuing! Will I advocate the general public do you need to pay in advance? Are you getting the right advice is the Insurance Giant looking after you?

Had to return half way through my trip due to unforeseen circumstances and called to see if it was possible to get a refund for the other half of the trip I'm no longer using the insurance for (it was 4 months ,so I paid quite a bit). Would have understood if I called and they quoted the policy, however the customer service from multiple staff completely lead me to believe that a refund was possible. Over a month of me trying to chase up the status of the return 3-4 times (they even asked me to send my flight return details) and I finally get an email today saying that a refund is not possible because of the policy. Complete waste of time. Cover seems fair for price, but customer service is absolutely poor and my experience has been infuriating. Wouldn't recommend or use again for those reasons.

I took out a 12 month international business policy in November 2019. After traveling to a few places the pandemic has hit and of course Covermore doesn't cover a pandemic. But as I can no longer travel internationally I want to cancel the remainder of my 12 month policy as it's worthless to me. Covermore claim that as it's been used there's no refund. But if I sell a vehicle my unused motor vehicle insurance is refunded. Covermore are not being fair to policy holders and don't deserve to exist post coronavirus.

Policy purchased on the 8/3/20 and then cancelled via email on the 22/3/20 within 15 working day cooling off period, received an automated response only, follow up email received another automated response “reply in 2 working days” 3 weeks later and still no response, another follow up email, got another automated response message. Please refund my $228 asap, it has been too long already.

My product was coverage for a 30 day land holiday in Australia using a hire car. The premium cost was fair although certainly not cheap but it paid for peace of mind should we have needed to make a claim.

Insurance from car rental companies is exorbitant and could be ignored but Cover More covered more than the car rental company's offering so it's a no-brainer really.

Lodged a substantial claim during this difficult time (Feb 20). All correspondence and submissions by email, we were kept informed of progress of claim and it was paid in full in April. Thank you CoverMore.

Purchased travel insurance in October 2019 for a trip in March 2020, and specifically paid extra for the 'cancellation' section. On the policy, there is absolutely no reason, in Cover-more's view, for a cancellation. And No 18 is epidemic, pandemic. Disappointing that I emailed on 6 April to ask questions - and still waiting for a response. Tried phoning and waited 1 hr 10. So tried the 'Chat' - waited well over an hour for that. Disappointing as I've been using Cover-More for 20 years and have recommended it.

I had 2 auto-replies to emails requesting a refund for travel insurance that was no longer required. No further contact within a month, so I rang (on a Sunday morning), spoke to a call centre, and arrangements were made for my refund, minus 25%, which duly happened.

I took out a 10 week policy in Oct 19 with $25,000 cancellation cover. My trip was cancelled by my tour operator before any travel bans in place. I have tried to do an online claim and it says my details are not correct (which they are not), I have tried to call and never get through and have emailed twice with no response. I have always used covermore but have not previously had to claim, extremely disappointing service.

Spent almost a thousand dollars on a 6-month travel insurance policy with CoverMore. Had to return to Australia after just three weeks due to Coronavirus. E-mailed CoverMore from Colombia four weeks ago to ask what my options might be with regard to returning to Australia (ie whether or not this would be covered by my insurance policy - apparently not) but got no response. E-mailed them again two weeks ago after returning to Australia to cancel the remaining five months of my policy. Still no response.

Very disappointed - after nine months from lodging claim, we just received a refusal to pay claim because my daughter had a pre existing condition of heavy periods of which she did not state when buying the policy!!! I am absolutely disgusted with their response and will be taking it further. But for all you girls make sure you remind them when buying your policy that you are indeed a woman so therefore do get periods and for some of us they are very heavy and we have to live with it - I would like to know if this condition was noted on purchase if they would have rejected her???
