Diamond Home Support

Having worked for Diamond Home Support for just over two years I would like to say that it was mainly a positive experience. My manager was super. I met some fantastic people and made new friends of some of my clients. Mainly clients were very flexible but there were just a few older clients who probably needed a carer rather than a cleaner and these people were very difficult indeed and on occasions quite aggressive.

My fiancé and I are a couple in our mid 30's but struggle to cope with basic day to day tasks because I am terminally ill. I emailed Diamond Home Support and requested a wide array of things we needed help with aside from just cleaning. Diamond replied within the hour and I was touched at just how much they were willing to help and go out of their way for us. Superb company.

I recently sought cleaning services offered by Diamond Home Support - Belfast, Northern Ireland. While I had very high hopes based on our initial conversations and prompt response, I was thoroughly disappointed.

On week 1, the company sent a lovely lady to do the cleaning for us. We got along quite well. I even offered her tea / coffee. We got chatting about our families etc... The first week went well. Although the clean was not as per my expectations, I was willing to wait for a couple of months as it takes time for the staff to get used to the house. On day one, I found that I had a broken mop and bucket. The lady filled the bucket with water and realised it was broken. She didn't clean it but I just let it go and cleaned it myself. Things were not even put back in place after the clean. The house was dripping wet after the mop. Overall it was not a great job but I did not want to discourage her on day one.

Week 2 was pretty much the same. The kitchen top was not cleaned properly. When queried, the lady said I didn't want to move things around which I felt was quite a lame excuse. Then I noticed that the shower drain cover was not cleaned. So, I took out all the dirt and left it out to be cleaned but it wasn't. And, the lady said that she has strict instructions not to clean it. But when I queried the owner, he said she didn't want to do it. Both were pointing towards the other. The owner asked me for images of the drain cover which I sent but he didn't even bother to respond. I had to text again to find out the situation and he was quite rude and impatient. While it's a small thing, the honesty matters. If they had told me we don't clean it, it would have been perfectly fine. I let that go too and still decided to persist.

In week 3, the owner texted on the day saying the lady has had a family emergency and he will send a replacement. The lady came and cleaned the house but again it was a shoddy job and most of it wasn't done.

Then week 4, again I get a message on the day of the clean, saying the lady is travelling and he will send another lady. Then I explained that no one will be at home to let the lady in and asked for another slot either after 4 that day or the next day. But he was quite difficult and called me to ask the same thing when I had already explained no one will be at home. I was a bit rude as I was quite annoyed with all that's been happening.

It was more of a hassle than help. The communication and management is very poor except when it comes to asking for payment. I probably would have been better off cleaning the house myself. I have had 3 cleaning ladies in the past 6 years and have had no issues with any of them. They would go out of their way to clean the house. However, I have had the worst experience on this occasion.

I wouldn't recommend their service!

Have been using the service for 6 weeks on a 2 hourly, weekly visit. Carol is the lady who visits us and she is fabulous, friendly and efficient. She has had to work around my mother’s care workers but just works according to which rooms are free at the time. The bungalow looks fresh and smells clean when she leaves. I highly recommend the service.

Used many cleaning agencies in the past but can easily say that Diamond Home Support in Rochdale are easily the best. We have been using their services for approaching 3 years. They provide the same cleaner each week who does a brilliant job. If our cleaner Sharon is ever on holiday than I will get a call or email well in advance from Adam at Diamond Home Support Rochdale and he will always offer and arrange to provide a stand in cleaner to cover.
I actually look forward to coming home on a Wednesday evening as the house is so lovely and clean and smells so fresh. As me and my partner work 6 days a week we would really struggle to cope without Diamond Home Supports help. As well as the cleaning, Sharon also does our ironing and changes the bed sheets. We couldn’t ask for anymore !
