Dishonest company. Sent me an item that was advertised as a completely different color (white not burgundy) and also described the hijab as Georgette but it was a completely different fabric, suede like. I filed a PayPal claim and they made me return the item at my own expense, although it was not even the same item I had ordered, at their own fault. Now my tracking info says they received it long ago but they still have not refunded my money to me. Be Careful with this company, they are not on the up and up

Genuinely the worst customer service I have ever received. I wish I could say it was hyperbole, because I really want to be able to support a Muslim business with plus-size options, and I am not a person who writes reviews like this. But unless they change dramatically: do not trust this business. I had been waiting two weeks trying to clear my order, being handed off to different employees, and in that time I was assured that my order was approved and on its way TWICE. Then, 17 days after I placed it my order it was cancelled, suddenly and without notice. So here I am, two and a half weeks wasted with nothing to show for it but stress and some terrible customer service.

After looking at some hijabs, I thought of looking for some abayas. This site stood out to me because they had great designs at a reasonable price. I bought an abaya and am currently waiting on it in the mail. I am happy to find a website with reasonable prices for clothes, rather than other websites who sky-rocket their products

I will stay away from this company. They really are hit or miss. Emailing their support got me no response, calling them worked. Even after I sent them photos with measurements of how my item did not look like what was pictured online (they told me to send these photos)--sleeves were very wide, not cinched/fitting as they were pictured online--they told me the item was correct (without telling me how, despite my detailed explanation and photos of how it was defective). I've emailed them back reminding them to please respond to my inquiry of why the item is correct, and was not satisfied with the paraphrased explanation of "the production manager said it was correct". They have been kind enough to allow me to return the item..but I have to pay return shipping, which is not worth it for me. I had spent the extra money to get this item altered to my height, but at the end of the day, I'm very unhappy. Eventually they've given me a small gift card, but I will not be shopping with them again, because it isn't worth me constantly having to guess if I will receive an appropriate item or not. They do ship some items on their website from China and India, not sure if that contributes to size differences.

I've ordered quite a few times from EE, and each time has been interesting. I've received gorgeous and lovely abayat, ones that I've had for years now and still wear on a day to day basis (the quality is astounding for a few of them). I love their abayat. Now, one thing to be careful of is the fabric, make sure you know exactly what fabric you are buying, and how it looks in real life, because pictures can be deceiving. But this is also true for any online shopping, just be careful. The kashibo is a strange fabric, not one I think looks particularly nice, but it does keep you cool, which is a plus. The only bad experience I've had with them was through the 'marketplace' section. I bought a dress that I'd hoped to wear for my Nikkah, and paid quite a bit for it, but what came in the mail was something that vaguely resembled a grocery bag and looked nothing like the photos. The sleeves only came to my elbows and were sheer, even though I paid for lining on the inside. There were no refunds given, but that was my own fault, I knew the items were final sale but took the chance anyways, so always make sure to purchase something that you would have the ability to refund if you were dissatisfied, otherwise its your own fault. So, to sum it up, stay away from the market place! Anything else that is produced outside of that area I have had good luck with and enjoyed my purchase. Many of their products I have had and worn for years, great quality, even the cheaper abayat and jilbab. The only reason for three stars is because of the horrendous customer service when I reached out, I actually ended up crying afterwards. I was very disappointed with the unprofessional attitudes of the staff I spoke with and being talked down to. It was a disheartening experience. I ended up getting a refund in the end, not from EE, but from American Express. I emailed the picture of the dress from the website, and then the picture of what I received. The customer service rep I was talking with from Amex laughed for about five minutes straight at the difference, told me I had definitely been scammed and refunded me every penny since I was a bride-to-be.

Ordered my item one month ago!!! Wrote an email,after a few days got reply that order would be shipped within two days...two weeks have passed since then...nothing, no answers..will never buy from here again,worst online shopping experience ever !!! Keep away,save money and time

I bought 7 pieces from the sale 70% outlet. I can't believe the cotton quality and the stitch is such a perfection! wow! thanks a lot. I was moving and I didn't expect they would ship out items in 3 business days and I received all the items in 8 days, well packed sent via DHL! thanks a lot

Bought a skirt for forty dollars plus shipping was over ten dollars. The skirt looks nothing like the picture, fabric is very thin, it is the wrong colour, and as I am searching for a skirt that looked exactly like one I had years ago, the picture is obviously from a different skirt, and they stole it to use in their store. Really really disappointed. Seeing as it's christmas time and I'm not made of money that's over fifty dollars I'll never get back because the site refuses to let me log in. So I can't even ask for a refund. Pissed off to say the least. Avoid this cheap stuff like the plague. Their clothing quality is lesser than even the cheap stuff found on AliExpress.

I recently ordered 130$+ worth of dresses for Eid. They did deliver on time but the sub-standard quality of the dresses (not as good as they were shown in pics on the website) put me off to the point that I went ahead and used my fresh set of washed clothes for Eid. I am terribly disappointed and also upset with their return policy. When expressed my concerns they did not even bother to make an exception to win back my confidence...i will never shop here again.

Horrific company I will never do business with again. I placed an order, realized an error, and attempted to cancel. It was a weekend so I couldn't call. I sent e-mails to the info e-mail address listed and through the "contact us" page on the website. They claim they never got either of these after I could finally reach someone via chat today. None of the links in their FAQ work so clearly this website has known issues. But because of the error with THEIR OWN website, they refuse to take responsibility. They will not allow me to do a return either despite the fact the items are brand new, just arrived today. Again, none of this should have happened to begin with because I had requested a same day cancellation. I have proof of this e-mail too but it's being refused as "we didn't get it". Okay, so there was a system error on the part of your website. You'd think they'd do the responsible thing and at least let me return the items then but no they won't. I have no choice but to escalate this through my bank now because their support will be of no assistance. Buyer beware. This is clearly not a Muslim owned company.

Really cheap stuff and nothing looks like as advertised. Ordered medium size but can easily fit a large size person. Shipping are also delayed and haven't got any response from customer care on inquiring.

I have ordered clothes several times from East Essence over the years. I have noticed that cheap items (less than $20) look cheap and never end up looking like the website photos. I have had better luck with pricier items (I ordered a georgette fabric abaya for $69 a few years ago, and it's beautiful). However, you are taking a gamble that if things don't work out perfectly, you will have to deal with their horrible customer service. Their website says they are based in Newark, Ca, but everything I've ever ordered comes to me from India. After dealing with customer service yesterday, I also believe they are located in India. I had an issue with a package being delivered to the wrong house by DHL. I didn't know what to do, so I emailed customer service to tell them what happened. Someone named Rashmi K. emailed me and began her email "Dear Customer." She then attached links to DHL's website showing delivery and signature of my package. I had already explained that was my issue! I responded to her and asked if her company makes an effort to help customers in situations like this, and she sent me another "Dear Customer" email that simply said they would contact DHL and let me know. Luckily, DHL sorted out their error and got my package to me. The order in question was a $14 sale tunic. I wasn't looking for a refund. Some empathy would have been nice. Now I know where I would be calling/emailing if I had a real issue with an order. Nope. I will never do business with East Essence again. ***Edited after site response*** Shazia, I appreciate your response. The fact that the escalation process was explained to me here instead of during my interaction with customer service is precisely my issue. When I contacted DHL directly, I was addressed by name, not "Dear Customer." The representative assured me she would assist with the lost package and asked me for additional details. This is why I incorrectly assumed they were the ones who corrected the issue. Bragging about your excellent customer service record to someone with a complaint is not helpful. It would have been reassuring to know about your order replacement policy while I was corresponding with Rashmi.

I have been shopping at EastEssence for years now. I am impressed again and again with the quality of the fabrics and the design. I am tall and big so I always need to special order the sizes. They always work perfectly. The hems fall right where I want them. The sleeves are always long enough for me. The coverage is always modest. I am so pleased. I spend too much money there and yet I only get a few things each year and have not gotten many of the items that I really want. like the really beautiful abayas. You have to watch your fabrics but this is true for any store. I find the cottons much sturdier and higher quality than most cottons from other stores. One time they got my order wrong on one item and I didn't bother to return it because their return policy is complicated and not worth the trouble. The only complaint I have is it takes forever to receive my order, usually 3 weeks. So don't try shopping 2 weeks before Eid in hopes of getting your new Eid clothes on time. Plan ahead.

I spent over $300 on my first order with east essence, they forgot to send all the items i purchased but later sent the rest of them with one ugly hijab as a gift lol then i ordered again n spent over $200 i received it today only two items came in I'm missing 6 items!!! smh. i like the quality of their product, it aint bad considering their prices but shipping is the wrost!!! Be very careful what you order with them cuz u might be disappointed (size N quality wise)

I'm travelling soon so I decided to look for some comfortable modest clothing to wear on the plane. I bought multiple tracksuits, all of which were great quality and very comfortable. I live in Australia so it took around 3 weeks to arrive, however it's worth the wait. Will shop again!

I reverted to Islam 2 years past. I needed appropriate clothing. I am also a clothes hog so buy at lot of clothing. East Essence is fantastic. They have excellent prices and each year I shop there they have gotten better and better both style wise and with the fabric. The kashibo is the only fabric that is a bit odd, and it is fine for cloaks and over garments. The only reason I gave EE a 4 star is because it does take a while to get Items so you have to plan if there is an occassion. I have had to do returns and they went smoothly. I love EE and they are the only place I shop. The last thing I would like to say is EE has clothing that is halal but some have a Western flare. It's great if you are newly Muslim, and if you work. You can feel confident your clothing is modest, but with enough Western flare it doesn't cause issues at work.

I have placed many orders, and have spent 100's on dollar shopping here. The 1 time I call for a return (damaged item) all I got was attitude! The first person I felt with via email, Rashmi, just wanted me to know that it's a final sale item, so f-off. The customer service manager, Uzma wanted to discipline me, I had to remind her that I was not her child. I couldn't believe how they would take for granted a customer who has spent 100's of dollars, over a $50 item. I will NEVER, EVER do business with them again.

I sent them a PM, email, online chat, anything I can find after I made an order with express shipping and then I cannot log into my account, my email no longer exists. It has been a few days and no one at all even bothered to reply and help. Delivery is supposed to 5-8 Nov and it's now 6 Nov and I cannot even check if the order has been shipped out, I've not receive any emails from you as well about shipping. This is extremely stressful and I truly regret ordering from them.

I received 8 pieces of clothing and all of them are the wrong size. Their size chart does not give the right measurements. Be very careful. They give you a discount code and once used you can't refund or exchange. I called them today and asked for the same items to be changed but they said it's final sale. Why give the discount if you are going to make it a final sale. As soon as you spin the wheel it lures you to use the discount and then that's it. So be ware to make sure what outfit you are ordering and regarding the sizes good luck. I am very disappointed and would never buy again. I have to pay to alter all the designs and change the styles. It's like I paid an additional 25$ each piece for altering the outfits. My last resort is to contact PayPal as they back up tenor customers unlike eastessence Hope this helps. Good luck in buying

"Zero Star" This is a rude and unprofessional company. They do not deliver orders in time. I requested cancelation, but they refuse even though they cannot meet the delivery target. The sizes, and quality of clothes very poor and substandard. Stay away from ordering from them!
