eClinical works has made it clear that they will not support any 3rd party integration into their fax solution that accompanies the EMR system. Really? So you have to buy a separate fax system for everything that doesn't come out of the EMR? You better find a way to solve the problem or other EMR vendors will eat more of your lunch.

I have had eCW for 4+ years now. I keep thinking it will get better...but it's just getting worse. Every time I try to get technical support, I end up being told "that is a known glitch; we will let you know when that has been resolved". It never gets resolved...so disappointing that I'm looking into other options already it is so expensive and so much trouble:(

Not much better than other software, yet it is the most expensive on the market ! They try to lead you to think that it is for a certain price, and before you know it, they have added 10 other hidden costs that they did not tell you about. Postage, statements , eFax, airplane ticked for trainer...PATHETIC !!!, I did not sign up because there was no transparency in dealing with them, I felt I am about to be cheated with every sentence and line in their contract. Also, they have no program for startups, they think we make millions, I strongly believe they will be losing a lot of customers due to their price and attitude.

I've been with eClinicalWorks as a Cardiologist for over 4 years, and switched from two other "leading" EMRs before that. I find the content of the negative reviews rather suspect, from a clinician's viewpoint. If you can find a better EMR for your money out there, I'd love to know. From my industry experience, the negative reviews are quite generic, and consistent with "positioned" posts from competitors. Perhaps not, but I trust other industry veterans would agree. eCW was quite open to me speaking with current clients before I became a client. I encourage you to do the same. They're widely used across the US, so you shouldn't have a problem connecting with 4 or 5 in your local area, even without going through eCW to do so. It's unfortunate that, historically, there were a few reputable and dependable review sites for us clinicians, but the troubled vendors in various industries have since found value in diluting the field for cheap reference purposes during their sales pitch.

Where to begin.....the support is atrocious. No one speaks English and you will get 5 different answers for the same question. It takes 10 clicks to do a task that should only take 3 clicks. The graphic user interface looks terrible. I could go on for days. Please don't do it, please! For your patients sake and you're own sanity!

If you are still using a local server, switch to the cloud or stop complaining. The reviews from IT guys issuing local servers are misleading because they should be advising you to use the cloud and toss the server. I cannot emphasize how good the Billing software is and how much time is saved by using HEALOW SELF SCHEDULING SYSTEM. Patients no longer need to call to make appointments. They do it themselves directly into your Scheduler. Also the kiosk is simply the best one out there for all that it does to retain your cash flow and reduce staffing requirements. The customer service portal is top notch. You will get answer For even the most mundane questions within 24 hours. They tech support speaks English and are knowledgeable. True emergencies (rare) are handled within minutes. The negative reworks on Thai site are from IT people who ARE NOT NEEDED IF YOU USE THE CLOUD VERSION (save yourself some cash by not budgeting for local server needs) or are generic negative reviews probably from competitors.

I have had a lot of contact with the eClinicalWorks staff. I have never had a negative interaction. I'm not sure any of these negative posts are real. Some of the staff is not computer savvy and they have not had any major issues with the system. I'd like to talk to some of these people with the negative comments. They don't seem real. We invested in a system knowing there would need to be major learning curve. Everyone was on board and the prep before the system was picked was intense. Every staff member was given time to make a list of how they do their job and the trainers were provided with the information for the onsite training. Every question was answered.

My company used eCW from 2005 until 2013 when we switched EMRs. I was attracted to eCW because it was one of the first affordable Windows based EMRs that integrated schedule, EMR, and billing functions in one platform. The review by Mike C. summed up many of our experiences, in particular that eCW was compartmentalized - like the referral function wasn't really connected to the schedule or EMR. It was very buggy and we had constant slowness and freezing of the application. The product was sold as a fully integrated application, but it felt like a patchwork of individually developed ones that didn't always connect to the database in the same or interact with each other fully. Support didn't do a good job of documenting our problems, so we needed to run through the litany of issues every time we called, as if it were the first time we'd reported the problems. We had the server on site. The constellation of eCW abilities is impressive. However, it seems from the comments that this company continues its practice of over promising and under performing.

eClinicalWorks site is dreadfully slow. I have no issues with 20 other sites at the same time but this site is pathetic. I would rather sit with a clip board at the Dr office and then jam a pencil in my eye, than deal with this crappy web site.

One of the Worst HL7 integration services ever! Took months to do a basic lab interface. It was always 1 step forward 5 steps back. Horrible communication and phone calls would last hours with half of it being silent while they placed orders that had incorrect information

e utilized eClinicalWorks for 3 years in our multi-provider practice. This EMR sstem as chosen based on a price-performance analysis however every time we turned around there was another charge! Also know that if you chose the cloud option and you want to leave ECW you ill be charged over $5,000 per provider to get your data on a hard drive.

Unbelievably poor service. Expensive. You are on your own. Very fragile. Not reliable. I have used them for a couple of years due to a contract. Would prefer to switch. Very hard to change after you train all your staff in their system.

Do NOT use this software. There is no customer support-the "tech" support doesn't actually know how to USE the software, so they must "replicate" the error-over and over and over and over with ABSOLUTELY no result. They offer "work arounds" for the plethora of inconsistencies and failures with this software-but after a while, you will give up on the "support" as there is none offered.

I am a 33 yo MD in primary care and this is the worst EMR I have come across. Absolutely counter intutive and slow!!! It is disrupting my work flow and I am having to click through multiple buttons just get some basic stuff done ( like ordering labs, Meds etc) . Horrible "small window pop ups" for everything and you are stuck with them - can do nothing in the back ground till you close and open it again! Please stay away 1000 feet if you are not already stuck in it!

My office manager convinced me that we would be better off with eCW over Athena. That we would save money on the back end with billing as the billing could use it well. Well now we are having patients walk out due to wait times and my charting time increased by 8x. system is a total waste of time and not worth it.

I've had several EMR in my career. This one has to be the worse. It started from the horrible person they sent to train my staff at my expense. To the poor service. I had problems with EMR and would place tickets talk to people who could not trouble shoot. They were sued by DOJ and did not tell us that I could have gotten out of the contract without the $5000 penalty . I happen to find out by accident when I became so fed up with the faxing system which doesn't work most of the time. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. They desire ZERO stars

Reading through posts, it is quite easy to notice what posts they wrote themselves - those are the positive ones. I heard good things about ECW, so I was excited when I found out that my new practice uses it. Little did I know! My primary issue is how terrible the "support" is: I mean, I just don't even bother talking to them anymore. They make you put the ticket through their web site, so Indian people can call you back. Those always ask you to get on your computer, so you can show them what the problem is. Except they don't get it. They waste about 1.5 hours of your time just to figure out what the question is. You just sit there and watch them click on things you already tried. Then they will keep calling you 80 times a day as you are seeing patients so you can again drop everything and watch them use your computer. 1-1.5 weeks later the issue may or may not be fixed but it no longer matters: you just want them to stop calling you with stupid questions instead of solutions.

ECW has some of the worst tech support. Stay away, will frustrate you to no end. Their is no call in support, everything is done via ticket and if you miss the call from them it's nearly impossible to call back and anyone to help. Server migrations and such are even worse, the managers cannot be reached by extensions 70% of the time and they seem to outsource everything. You can't speak to anyone with high level IT knowledge.

Average EMR, If you invest time into it it may work. What makes it 1 star is people who work there. Lack of support, company representatives unable to understand very basic requests and do not do anything, do not answer for weeks. We spent countless hours trying to solve simple questions, cancel services we are not using because we closed our practice 6 months ago. They bill for the service we do not use. Send you a bill and reminders to pay regularly. Reminds you a used car dealer who rips off customers on any occasion. Unfortunately we can not stop doing business with them, still need to keep it for AR and medical records. Stay away, otherwise you can become a hostage of this deceptive company
