Pretty nasty feeling to get to your new house on a Wednesday night to find your power hasn't been connected. No phone call or email to let me know what's going on. Wouldn't connect power because of soap on kitchen sink. I've got nowhere to put my things after moving up from Victoria because of these totally unrealistic expectations. Now I have to pay $150 to get it connected on Saturday because the only time I can be present at the property on the weekends.
4 days without power because some idiot is afraid of hand soap.
Absolutely useless and stupidly difficult to deal with

The area of Tallai has been out of power for 2 days!
Energex sitting at road closure says Christmas Day and when phoning Energex we told 4pm today. Which one is it?
Electricity lines still down in Tarawara, red flagged properties for medical reasons yet still nothing.
People are now having to go to hotels and hospitals to be ok medically.
Who is paying these bills? I do hope Energex is compensating those who have had to go and those who have lost thousands of dollars in food. We all understand not your fault they came down but you should be ready to get the public back on faster.
Very poor service, this is now the 4th time in less than a month Energex!

Energex planned power outage during 8am to 3pm in the peak of summer and school holidays.
What bright spark comes up with these out-bloody-standing blocks of humid times during Summer school holidays peak of heat at 33 degrees?
Do better because this is pathetic when the cooler months (when kids are at school) would be more bearable!!!
You have reconnected people's power after a storm in less than 7hrs sometimes less than 1hr!
If I could give you a 0 star rating, I damn well would.
Pathetic planning team at Energex needs a bit of common bloody sense.

Energex turned up 1 hour prior to a 5 hour window booked! Dog was inside with owner, Energex turned up for 9min and ticked “unsure” if dog secure. We were home All day!!! This has happened 4 times now!

As soon as a new policy is released workers are going to find any excuse not to do there job!

We have lost 4 days of work and all Energex can do is blame other companies. Our external company has clearly noted a 5 hour window and after numerous phone calls Energex turn around and tell us that when checking the electricity box number it’s always an “all day” time. This is incorrect as we have now had 2 days booked in for 5 hours frames.

Suggest getting contractors to “call” or make contact with the owners when turning up to a job! People are losing money and time due to the inconvenience from your company and not to mention animal cruelty.

We were given a 12-5 hour window and we also had noted our dog would be secure on our balcony from these timings. I was also home all day and had the house locked up from 12-5 in radiculous heat. I then check the mail box to see a note dropped off at 10.56am!

No effort to contact the owner.

Unprofessional to say the least.

Energex gives a 5 hour non-negotiable appointment window to have the power connected at a residential property and they will refuse to call on arrival. If you are getting power connected to a secure unit the assumption is you wait on the pavement of the driveway for the entire 5 hours and hope someone shows up. I've asked multiple providers (Origin etc) about the 'no call' policy and nobody has any idea. Energex just says no and doesn't provide a reason. You can't even ask for a text or email prior to arrival.

Best part is because they are the government distributor you have no option to change providers or deal with another company.

Our energy was disconnected since about 8:30am and reconnected 4:45pm on the same day. Not only having suffered a loss of income for the day and having to throw out food due to the long hours of not having power to operate fridges and freezes, I cannot even have any Energex staff member treat my matter with courtesy or respect. First call made to Energex, asking to grab the schedule of the guy reconnecting my energy could not be given, only to be told the job will be done by end of business day. Surely, it is not impossible to look up the schedule or the employee and to provide a customer with a time frame for some peace of mind? After today's experience what I have learnt is the 'beat it' mentality of Energex and energy retailers does in fact exist and that the words ingrained in their company about "caring about their customers" is completely misleading. Final call to Energex about the status of the reconnection recieved a reply of "mate, it's already being done it is getting completed right now". The last time I checked "mate" wasn't part of telephone etiquette for a national company, or perhaps my standards are too high?

I have booked a power reinstatement for the morning. The timeframe was 8 to 13. Nothing more precise. I have spent the morning waiting for them and did not show up, no phone call, nothing. Is this a professional service?

We live in Samdy creek that was affected by the storm Tuesday afternoon our power pole came down and Energex were the first ones we called as power lines were across our fence ,they were very prompt in coming to our property and disconnecting the power. We contacted them Wednesday afternoon to reconnect the powder which we had two wonderful Energex workers attend our property it was a pleasure to hear their interaction during setting up power to the pole My husband and I was so surprised to listen to them working together and helping each other if only all work colleagues spoke to each other in this way the workplace would be a much better place. they were efficient Informative and a real pleasure and a credit to the Energex team massive shout out to the two Energex employees that attended Sandy Creek Road Sandy Creek you guys are an asset to Energex

My tenants left 3 days ago and did not pay their power bill so the electricity was disconnects 3 days ago.
I started a new service under my name with Click Energy and was scheduled for the new connection yesterday (Wednesday 13/3/2019). So I took 1 day off work and waited for the Energex to come and connect my power.
Finally after all day waiting a sarcastic, grumpy, unfriendly, rude guy arrives at the end of waiting period and wants to inspect the entire house first (which I don't understand why!). I asked him to wait for me a few minutes to get the keys and open the door to other sections of the house but he said he couldn't wait! By the time I opened the door he had already left!
I immediately called Energex to talk to the guy to come back, but was told they can not contact the guy and I have to Contact my energy provider. So I called Click Energy and was told that we have to reschedule and told me that the next day by 8 AM this will be done! So I took another day off work and waited but nothing happened! I called Click Energy in the morning and was told that it is rescheduled for afternoon between 1 and 6 PM! So another day wasted!
So, 3 days with no electricity, all food in the fridge had to be thrown away, no A/C, no fan in this heat and I had to go to a shopping mall to charge my computer and phone batteries!
This guy had no idea of customer service, no compassion, no courtesy, and no concerns about customers and very rude!
Energex has to train it's staff to consider customer issues, work with them to resolve their problems.
They can't do their jobs right and we customers have to pay the price for their incompetency!
This is not the right way to do business!

They don't care how their subcontractors interact with the public and the reliability of supply is worse than an Off Grid System.The meter reader turned up in a filthy 20 year old car wearing no I.D and grudgingly produced some I.D when challenged.This is unprofessional and unacceptable as they could be anyone , even someone casing the place to break in or worse ...do people harm. . When i contacted Energex directly twice ! , as it happened 2 quarters in a row, i was told they have no control over this as the car magnetic signs get stolen (excuse 1) and the meter readers are subcontractors (excuse 2) .We also recently have had 2 scheduled power outages of over 6 hours each in the same month a few weeks apart.Thankfully i have moved to a 100% off grid solution and simply don't have to deal with them ever again.

I joined and had one account.
EVERY BILL WAS WRONG.
It was so high I would ring them and THEIR PHONE SERVICE would tell me a much lower and correct amount!

It was a nuisance, but I tolerated it.

Then I moved house.

Some how they transfered the power, but created an extra account in my name and started billing me for both properties!

It took numerous calls to try and resolve the issues with Energex so they're great if you need to waste left over phone credit, but really that's it.

Energex couldn't care less about anyone but themselves, had a booking for a new connection for over a month to move into a newly built house, this is over traffic control, 1pm booking, my electrician turned up at 1:04pm,traffic control had already left,the foreman of the crew decided to play God (I was warned of this by the sparky) & deemed it unacceptable,couldn't work with electrician (it took him less than 10minutes to fix issue),they all say they care etc etc, they don't, the handover of new house was supposed to be in 2 or 3 days,I don't know when now,what is the good of a new house when there is no power,knowing energex they will be another month or so as they will blame traffic control for the hold up, absolutely ridiculous,six weeks apparently, they have the monopoly on the powerlines so they can just do what they want,they need some competition to make them realise that alot of people would go elsewhere if they could, I haven't even said anything about what I went through to get power disconnected so I could get the new house started, Energex absolutely shameful & disrespectful that a major company can act like this & get away with it,they need a rocket jammed up their backside.The rating at the top should be negative 10,they don't even deserve 1 star

Can't understand why Energex can't call to advise an ETA for arrival at your home to perform work, any other company that had any interest in providing reliable customer service provides this minimum level of service, but not Energex, they expect you to have your property open for a 5 hour window if you want the work completed, I'm sure the tradie doing the work has a company phone and could make a 30 second call to let you know they are on the way? I guess you can't expect too much from a Government organisation!!

Request for removal of power from house to temporary pole (2 metres away) 2 months and counting now cannot look at it until 8 May that will be over 3 months.
Its Ok for me to have to pay all the contractors and civil engineers for works and there is nil customer service.
Having a monopoly on the works is just not Australian and fair.
Thanks energex you are sending me broke costing me 5 grand a month.

Energex meter readers need to go, there policy know is that if you are not present at your home and have a dog they will not read your meters, we need a new system that we can have our meter readings going straight to the provider. Victoria has smart meters introduce but in queensland we have to put up with these soft morons that turn up give one beep and if your not quick enough drive off , they cost us money and time that most of us can not afford. They need to GO.

We have lived at our house for almost 5 years now, have had the same dog the entire time. In the last 12-18 months, Energex have been leaving cards to say that they can't access our meter because of the dogs. We have actively been trying to sort this out with them for at least the last 6 months, as they're estimating our usage at 3 times what it actually is. Phone calls, emails, messages all to no avail. They tell us we can do a self read within 3 business days, so we send them photos of our meters to ensure accuracy. They tell us they cannot accept photos of the meters, and they want us to provide them with the information over the phone. Tell me, on what planet is photographic evidence declined in favour for "tell us over the phone"? Absolutely absurd to have this kind of attitude in 2018.
