Service itself was as advertised, however: I detected over 100% CPU usage (from overclocking) by programme "expressvpnd". Of course I made sure that I was disconnected and I tried rebooting. The very high usage of CPU persisted (it was intermittent, but remained), and at all times appeared in my top 10 programmes running. I uninstalled, and the problem went away. Today I tried reinstalling (with a new download of their website) to see if the problem was with the original install: The problem returned. This is completely unacceptable, and highly suspicious. Want to protect your privacy? maybe first check that ExpressVPN isn't a form of spyware itself - or perhaps using customers' CPUs to mine cryptocurrencies. Enrolled for 1 month. Month 2 I got charged again. Contacted support and complained. They said they'd refund that second month and cancel subscription I never signed up for. Month 3 no refund but was charged again. Month 4 charged again. Wondering when to investigate a class action lawsuit. Very similar scam to Godaddy

First it is great that expressvpn supports older legacy OS It also has many countries to select from which is nice. It is easy to use and can be used with little knowledge of VPN. The connections continue to be at a good speed as well. It does have a 30 day trial which is very generous. The customer support was very helpful and fast. I have no complaint with my user experience of this program.

To my surprise the service is very average and had constant intermittent breaks. Also to cancel the service was walk through mirrored maze. I thought I had cancelled based on screen messages, however when I was charged again, I see I needed to press the cancel button at least 3 times .. why trick your customers !!!!

I currently have a year plan at expressvpn and I'll tell you a little about my experience with them. I primarily went with expressvpn because it was on a very nice sale (33~ euros for a year) and it had OK reviews. The features that I wanted in a VPN service was: proper privacy, simultaneous use on multiple devices, nice Windows interface with low system resource usage, Android app, torrenting allowed and can't remember anything more. What I like about expressvpn the most is that's it's pretty speedy and it has servers all around the world. The Windows client supports the usual VPN protocols including OpenVPN which is great. What I dislike about expressvpn is that it loses connection fairly often and because the official Windows client doesn't have a kill-switch feature—this is a privacy risk. The Windows client does it's job well, but it does have some annoying bugs (easy fixable though). And most of the time my upload speed is extremely low while connected to a VPN server, I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm thinking that the built-in NAT firewall is causing this. http://www.expressvpnreviewz.com/

This company stole $99.95 USD from me without my consent through Paypal for a service I haven't used in 2 years. Paypal sided with them and put in the transaction anyway despite my contacting ExpressVPN to cancel my account. ExpressVPN promised to refund me the money and said they did, but they didn't. So I made a complaint to Paypal again and I have to keep contacting them and receive more lies and excuses from them not to pay me back because I "put in another dispute". I have to take legal action. AVOID!

Have used ExpressVPN in China for 2 months where many sites were blocked to be prior to ExpressVPN. The only downside is that one of my Email sites blocks access (@cantab.net) so I have to close ExpressVPN to send email from that one account.

Do not use this VPN, especially if you live in ChinaI haven't been able to connect for two weeks. For such an expensive product, this is unforgivable. I've found cheaper and more reliable alternatives; you can too.

I got ExpressVPN few years ago with a good deal from this service, and I'm really satisfied with it. It's a nice working VPN with large numbers of available IP address. Price is not the best, but it worth it.

I didn't receive my money back though I have requested weeks ago. I'nm very disappointed with your services. My favorite server (Italy) never works fine and connection always dropped randomly. I'm very disappointed.

Since late 2019, ExpressVPN has not only started to slow but also started to disconnect then reconnect randomly but frequently throughout the day. The worst performance I would get is between 5pm to midnight EST. I'd connect usually to their North American Eastern sites in both Canada and the US. Lately, in the last week the best latency I could get was 24 milliseconds where my local ISP clocks in at 3 milliseconds using speedtest.net with servers in those same locations. I'm using a fiber optic gigabit line as well but ExpressVPN speeds are half or less even in their best of times.

I don't have anyone to complain to other than writing something on this site. And the reason I renew this every year is I don't have better options and I don't want to pay new ones to find out, VPN good or not, it's all about connection and how long you stay connected. I'm a user from China, joined Express 5 yrs ago from another brand (Vxxx), this is because back then Vxxx can't even access their website or download the app without logging on a VPN first, how ironic. Anyway... PRO: Buy one then you can use it on your PC, phone, laptop, 5 devices total. For a single user like me it's more than enough. You can access the update page even if your country blocked the main site. But this is only for PCs, for phone it's extremely challenging, I'm sure other users know what I'm talking about. If the connection is good, then the speed is fast enough to stream videos on some of the big sites. Actually I can't think of other good things to say. CONS: The connection on the phone is very unstable, when you needed it the most it disconnects 20 times within the hour, however on my PC it's still connected. I don't think there's anything wrong with my iphone, plus I talked to the service guy and he can't seem to find anything to blaim on either according to my log. So I'm trying to connect, ALL THE TIME, I'm a pathetic loser trying to work like this everyday! Today, 2 years later I realized, if they want to block you, they block you good and there's nothing you can do but wait it out. I subscribed for a one month free trial of Express VPN in November 2017. I cancelled the free trial within the month. It is now 7th December 2017 and Express VPN has charged my account for US$12.95 on separate 3 occasions. I have tried to contact their "instant" Live Chat Support. I have not received any response. I have since cancelled my credit card in order to stop Express VPN from charging me further.

EVPN after 6.5.2 no longer support Mac OSX using McAfee products - EVPN changed their traffic handling after v6.5.2 and now their product's outgoing traffic is blocked by McAfee's firewall. EVPN's support team told me they weren't even interested in bugging the incompatible version numbers to investigate root-cause and determine a work-around for their customers. So, if you use McAfee on your Mac, find another VPN service. That's what I'll be doing after waiting since September for a fix.
