The idea of fitness passport sounded great, but they can’t tell you which gyms you can use. The search tool they provide is hopeless and frustrating. Their website is most user-unfriendly.

You can’t cancel your contract unless you pay the full year worth of membership.

Most of the facilities only allow access during business hours. 24/7 access does not apply to fitness passport holders

We signed up for a fitness passport and have logged a job twice to have it cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period. To date we have had no response and they have started deducting money from our bank account. Unsure how to contact these people as there is no number in the system? Any ideas? Wouldn't recommend signing up for this as it is very difficult to cancel or contact anyone.

My direct debit also increased to $74.50 a fortnight as my son turned 18!!! Way too expensive now. How do I cancel? Need a better communication system.

Hi,

I am not with my previous employer anymore since April 2019 and you still have not deactivated my account! I have sent you an email and you keep contacting my previous gym to say that my membership has been cancelled but you still keep taking money out of my account. I can’t even find a number to ring your company as it is hard to hard to find a number to contact you. Can you please contact me as soon as possible so this can be resolved.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks
Aimee

Note: To add to this, I finally have received a refund and Polina was very prompt at her customer service! Thank you for cancelling my subscription and for refunding me as well!

Thanks,
Aimee

I set up my FP and was accepted a month ago. I have been charged for this month, however have still not received the card in the mail. I have been charged for a month and been unable to use the product. I can not seem to find a contact number on the website to discuss this with the business. Currently very disappointed.

My friend is paying 23$ for a family but FP is charging me 54$ per fortnight and when i tried to cancel my membership as it is expensive for me, i might have to pay even more money or i have to wait for a year and let them suck my blood money until my contract finished. It is also hard to contact them i have mail them several times about the issues but only got replied once. I am very unsatisfied with the service.

I travel between cairns qld, Ballina NSW, and Melbourne. I have a cairns membership. Can I use my passport in other states? The fee is the same so I can't see why not.

Have been a member for 5 years, membership covers a range of gyms and swimming pools. I have membership for myself and my partner, we find it cost effective and usually easy to use. There's a lack of service / support if you have difficulties, if you have difficulties or any questions the extensive list of FAQ on website dont cover theres no contact number you can call and online enquiries can be slow to respond. They say they aim for 48hr turn around.

Dear FP team,

I have been a member for a while and had no issues with FF gyms (Health Club) in bringing a guest with you over the weekends.... This morning had a staff member in FF Randwick stating guests are not included as part of FP for any FF gyms. I had to tell him to look into it as he wasn't even sure!....My guest was allowed in this time but, it was an uncomfortable experience as this never happend to me since I became a member for 1.5 yrs ago and often use the FF gyms often with a guest over the weekends.
Can you please clarify the condition with FP membership, if we can bring a guest along to use the FF gyms over the weekends... especially Eastern suburb areas?

Hi
I’m currently a member and I’m going through some extremely difficult times in regards to being most likely sacked from my current job, I will not be able to afford the FP, I am suffering from a tremendous amount of stress due to my current situation and have previously asked for my membership to be cancelled and the staff show so empathy and grant my wish, this falls on deaf ears, my emails go un responded, they have blocked my number so I can’t call them.
They suspended my account for 3 months even though I wanted them to cancel it, my work situation has not been resolved yet I receive an email today saying my account has been reactivated without them even calling me to check on my position as they said they would. They make it easy to sign up but extremely difficult to leave and contact them in anyway. I’m extremely disappointed with the treatment from the organisation.

I had been with fitness pass port for many years and had no problems at all. It was great that a PT session was included and no extra cost for classes. Yes I had to pay for toggle for entry into 24 hour gym but that is to be expected. I also new about cancellation within a year etc by reading and understanding the information of the contract. I cancelled it 6 months ago due to unforeseen circumstances and had no problems. Now I'm looking into joining again. Well done FP.

As soon as my son turned 18 a few months ago, (still fully dependant and at school) Fitness Passport wanted to start charging additional fees. We were already paying for an extra single membership for our (also dependant, at uni) 21 year old daughter.

Subsequently converted to a single membership (after paying a penalty fee) and will be cancelling as soon as the contract runs out.

If I went to the gym enough to actually get my money's worth, I'd be Mr Universe.

Be warned, FP will not waive any fees unless you meet their stringent requirements.

Can you please clarify if we can use fitness first Maroubra and Bondi? When we have gone to these gyms they are said we cannot attend classes and asked questions about where we work.

I joined FP and cannot recall having the 12 month contract brought to my attention. I'm sure if it had been I would have taken note because I've been a gym member at various gyms for the last 20 years and all that any other gym has required is one month's notice. The gyms that accepted FP were very basic with very few classes and classes that weren't at all appealing. Given all of that I appealed to FP asking if I could cancel without penalty - the response I got was so lacking in any human element I seriously questioned whether it was sent by a Bot. Not good enough. I would not recommend FP to anyone for these reasons.

I joined to get access to my local Fitness First. The Fitness Passport website says you have same access as a regular member and can get 24/7 access if the gym has it. The gym has now shortened their staffed hours so I asked to organise 24/7 access and they've said I can't. I emailed Fitness Passport and they said I can't. I asked to cancel my membership and they want me to pay fees as I'm within 12 months even though it is their issue that is the problem. Oh and they put up the price of membership within the first few months of joining. Not happy. Don't join!!!

I've since been contacted by a Fitness Passport manager who was very apologetic and who agreed to cancel my contract without penalty. Fitness First still won't honour the agreement to give me 24/7 access as advertised.

I haven’t been in my job since March yet they still take money from my account. I have tried to council but my former supervisor doesn’t seem to want to help me. Every time I email Fitness Passport I receive nothing back & they just refer me back to my old supervisor. As far as I can tell they don’t even have a contact number. It a great idea but they don’t make it easy to leave if it doesn’t suit your situation anymore. Big regrets! I won’t do it again.

I’ve been a member for almost 12 months and find that the customer service is pathetic and my emails never get a response, why there is no call centre I really don’t know
I will be removing my family members once the 12 months have finished and that is going to be an interesting exercise.
