Terrible service. Offering travel credit, we are NHS doctors and will never be able to take this time out of work again, let alone in the next 2 years (which begun April 2020 when we are unable to travel) while we are both working during the pandemic.
Shocking customer service, would never use again.

I booked a trip through Tour Radar in January on G Adventures to go to South Africa this June/July. In April, Tour Radar informed me that G adventures cancelled the trip and that my only option was to accept a 110% credit for a future G adventures trip booked in the next two years. G adventures currently does not plan to offer my same trip (Hiking South Africa) beyond this September and I am not interested in their other trip offerings, so I requested a full refund instead, which was flatly denied. I then contacted my travel insurance policy, which was obtained through my Chase Sapphire credit card, who informed me that the policy did not cover a trip cancelled by the Tour Operator - it only covered a trip cancelled on my end. Thus, I disputed my credit card charge to try to recover the $6500 that Tour Radar / G Adventures are holding of my money last week. Today, I received a threatening email from Tour Radar demanding that I drop my dispute or else risk losing my $1500 deposit. This troubling situation could be easily resolved if G Adventures is willing to process my full refund request for $6534.46.

When things get tough the customers are no longer treated like human beings, remember that if you're thinking about taking a chance on booking. They're using customer money from people desperate for it back to prop up the company. If they gave people a choice I'm sure some would have accepted credit but people have lost jobs and they just smile and say book another trip with us. Oh and as an aside if you read about them you'll see they laid staff off immediately at the start of the crisis- it wouldn't surprise me if they were actually making a profit out of this. Literally criminals.

If I could give a zero, I would! G Adventures keeps maintaining their fiction of "suspending" tours as opposed to "canceling" them. They are playing word games-there is no tour SUSPENSION-YOUR Tour is cancelled for at least 6 months. Their website advertises 100% guaranteed departures. They sent me an email canceling my tour one week before I was flying to Africa for 7 weeks. This led me to purchase a second Morocco tour-which I had to cancel when the Morocco and Egypt borders closed. I am out of pocket for 3 land tours, 2 intra Africa flights, and flights to and from Africa while my job income has been reduced 80% or more. None of this matters to G. They invited me to write a letter requesting a refund. Despite their stating they had 24 hour communication, it took them 5 weeks to deny me. I would feel better about this except I found out they did not use the money they stole from me and others to keep their staff-they fired most of them as they just built a new headquarters in Boston. So much for being people oriented! They are just full of corporate greed!! Avoid at all costs!!!

I had a tour booked with G Adventures which was cancelled. The terms and conditions of travel outline that I should be given a full refund and G Adventures has breached those terms and conditions by failing to give me my money back despite several request. G Adventures has attempted to redefine the cancellation as a 'suspension' and this is extremely unfair conduct. It is dishonest to keep hold of my money. Personally I chose G Adventures because I had an understanding that they were an honest company and I was recommended by several people. Being offered a credit has no value to me as it will be a long time before I have another opportunity to travel for a 5 week period again. I am not the one to write a negative review on a company however I feel very unsupported and that my money has been stolen, which took me a long time to save. After reading countless negative reviews, I encourage G Adventures to rethink its position on denying refunds for the sake of its reputation. If this isn't resolved fairly to all affected customers, unfortunately I wont be speaking highly of this company moving forward and I am not the only one in this position

unfortunately i had to give one star because i couldn’t give 0 or less. awful, awful company! is denying people’s legal right to a refund and going against their own terms and conditions. heartless company, even other big tour operates have given refunds to those who need them. give the people what they deserve - their hard earned money.

I booked the Trans-Mongolian Express tour which starts in Beijing and ends in St. Petersburg. I had a few questions regarding my C-Pap machine during this adventure. My CEO didn't know the answers but was able to get back to me within 24 hours with the info I needed. I believe all the ducks are in a row!

During this time of pandemic, we are all worried whether our travel decisions are the right ones. We appreciate your support when we unfortunately had to cancel our 2020 trip and you allowed us to book the same trip in 2021 at no extra cost. Here's hoping that all will be well and we can all go back to do what we do best...TRAVEL!

G Adventures have been amazing through the Covid-19 pandemic. I contacted them with concern about my holiday that was booked for a few months time, and they speedily gave me all the options I had. I was a bit of a difficult customer being undecided about what to do and having lots of questions, but they were patient and helped me make the right decision. Their lifetime deposit policy is also great, and made it much more comforting when I had to make the decision to cancel my plans. People complaining should remember that this is a pandemic and that everyone’s struggling to make the right moves, but G Adventures have been one of the ones that’s stood out as having done a great job to me.

Travel agent helped me find a flight home when I was stranded because of coronavirus and also let me know I’ll receive a travel credit for the tour which I was not expecting. Agent stayed calm and helped me a lot. Looking forward to using them in the future.

Disgusting customer service. Tour cancelled due to covid19, understandably, they had to do it. However, they are refusing to refund my money and are instead offering a voucher which I CANNOT use and Do NOT want. They are going against their own terms and conditions to steal money from their customers, treating us so appallingly that I will NEVER use them again. Their emails are smug and rude and they have shown that the consumer is the last person they care about. They have lost so many faithful customers because of their lack of regard for us. Some of us have mortgages to pay and have lost jobs because of this pandemic. How dare they do this to fellow human beings. So disgusted. Please DO NOT book with this company. They do not care about you.

Whilst I do understand we are in unchartered territory with the corona virus I have had 2 very different experiences with 2 tour companies so far which will definitely impact my decision making when we are able to go on tour or when making recommendations to friends and colleagues. I had 2 tours in Europe booked for a once in a lifetime trip from Australia – one was booked through Tourradar with Destination Services Spain. They cancelled the April tour, contacted me and offered a full refund of the tour cost and this was paid to me within 1 week of cancellation. The second tour was booked directly with Gadventures for their Best of Greece tour in May. They are refusing to offer an option of a refund of money and only offer 110% credit. Whilst I understand that companies could experience cashflow issues if they offer refunds many of us who paid for trips now do not have jobs and need the money to live off. It is a difficult choice but with no job and living in Australia I certainly cannot see myself able to afford the airfares to fly over next year or the year after to use this credit note. Two very different experiences and I certainly will recommend Tourradar in the future and not recommend Gadventures based in my personal experience.
It is a shame the response from g Adventures is a standard response that demonstrates they have not even read the review - they will not give a response as to why they will not give their customers a cash refund - a specific explanation addressing this would at least demonstrate they are reading and understanding our issue.

I have had a fantastic experience travelling with G adventures and have been a loyal traveller with them for years. I am also one of the unlucky customer who have had a tour cancelled, however I am not angry. I have kept in mind that this is a pandemic that is hard for anyone dealing with, and I have very grateful that G adventures have given me a 110% travel credit for my tour. The negative reviews are very oblivious to the fact that if they could provide everyone with a refund after they have had to complete stop all sources of income within a week then they would fold, even major airlines can only provide travel credits at this time. G Adventures is a small company that is ethical and gives back to the communities we visit, they invest in small Villages and local people!!! Thank you G adventures and to the staff who are working incredibly hard during this covid-19 pandemic. Please don’t let these reviews deter you from travelling with G adventures keep in mind this is during a crisis, I think we should all spread some more kindness during these times.

They are refusing to refund their customers! I have three emails which states my tours are CANCELLED yet they keep saying they don’t have to refund me because they suspended their tours. I imagine I’ll get the same copy/paste message as others on this page.

My tour was cancelled when I was due to depart within days. I received no communication and only found out through a social media post (at which point I emailed to find out my tour was CANCELLED, not suspended). Regardless, suspension isn’t even used in their terms and conditions. They’re breaking their own Ts and Cs (which they changed after cancelling the tours) are going against UK consumer rights laws and breaking the package holiday laws.

They’ve treated me very poorly, with rude emails and a final “we won’t talk to you anymore, take the voucher or take us to court”.

Appalling service, appalling attitudes, appalling company.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I’ve Noticed that the recent positive reviews are invited or seem like bots... strange that. Almost like they’re trying to bury our reviews.

Note to the response below: Gadventures are fully aware I was informed by tour was cancelled and not suspended. I forwarded several emails where I had been told it was cancelled. This proves they are breaking their terms and conditions and yet still continue to break the law. I booked a package tour; under UK law, I am due a refund and they know it.

Echoing other reviews on here - G Adventures have handled the COVID-19 pandemic appallingly and I would never ever recommend booking a tour with this company now. Tour cancelled, company refusing to refund in clear breach of their own booking terms and conditions and a 4-6 week response time to boot - absolutely hopeless. Sue in small claims court, file a complaint with the regulator, and tell your friends - do not book!

The trips are amazing!
I went on a trip to Borneo, Bali, Flores and Komodo last year, and the experience is amazing. Full of experiences and not just the tourist hangouts.
Customer experience is great! Helpful and very easy to get into contact with.
