They are good overall I dont know where are the complaints are I think that there like the internet explorer for the video game indutsty they're good for buying new consoles but not the best for buying games

My son (14) who has Asd went into Tallaght branch 27th. He had the money to puchase controller & 150 Psn. He came home with controller. He definitely parted with his money in the shop. The girl / boy in shop never gave him the psn docket. It wdnt be familar with it as his older brother normally buys it. I am disgusted. Im seeking advice around it. My son has Asd & loves his playstation

Two weeks before Christmas I placed an online order for four BRAND NEW games.
Five days later I received first part of that order. The game was supposed to be new, but it's far from that. Never mind it's not wrapped in the plastic wrapper as any new game. It has a glue stains from the price stickers all over the box and the box itself is all cracked. From the first look one can tell it's a second hand item, while my order clearly states NEW, so it's really hard for me to understand how such product ended up in my letter box. I thought it was a simple mistake and I emailed GameStop looking for replacement.
The reply I received is shocking as they consciously sell used, second-hand items as new. Three other games arrived as second-hand items too, which only confirms their common practice.
They say I can return the items, but surely it's not about refunding, it's about premeditated misleading, cheating, deceiving and pretending nothing happened. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!
Never mind the fact that if you decide to return the faulty item they intentionally sent you broken, you need to go to the street store, which completely defeats the idea of online shopping.

GameStop replied:
''Please note that the copies of the games that you received may not have been sealed, but would have been un-played.
To display copies of games on our shop floor, we may elect to remove the plastic of some games and store the discs in our filing drawers.
The games are still new and un-played, but would only be missing the plastic seal.
Please note that due to low quantities of clearance items, we cannot guarantee sealed copies as a replacement.
If you are unsatisfied, the easiest way to return your product is by dropping into your local GameStop store and returning the item across the counter for a quick exchange or refund.''

IT'S A SCAM, NO DOUBT.

In any other store the display items have clear information about being as such.
GameStop not only hides that information, they sell used products as brand new.
You pay for an item of a certain value. That value is different for the brand new items and for the used ones. It doesn't matter whether functionality of the item stays the same - you pay for the whole value of the item.
Imagine car dealer advertising brand new cars that are actually car-wreckages with solely the engines being new.
Or to simplify it, imagine you pay for a Mercedes, but they deliver Fiat and tell you: ''But it drives the same''.

I am so glad they are going off the market - clearly I am not the only one seeing their dodgy practices.

on Friday evening I went to try order a nintendo eshop card for my boyfriends birthday which was on Saturday, as with quarantine I couldn't go out and bring him his gift. My card was about to expire so I tried using the old one first and the website said it did not go through. I then tried the new card and it said again it did not go through. I decided to leave it and thought that it wasn't working because it was late, but when I checked my bank account the next morning, I saw I was charged twice. I received no email confirming my order, and on the website I had nothing under 'my orders'. Emailed customer support, they said I should be issued a refund but the money is still in limbo in my bank account. I'm going to wait until Thursday and if nothing happens I'll be contacting customer support.
The website clearly needs an overhaul as it is really bad in my experience. The customer support person told me they have had multiple issues like this recently, so why are they still accepting orders? I saw here that a person ordered a switch which is way more expensive than a voucher and they had the same issue as me. €300+ is a lot of money to have in limbo in these times. Best to fix the issue, and then let people order. Have had issues with gamestop before and this has been the final straw. Will never order with gamestop again, there's just no point.

Ordered an controller 193$ a few days ago, and they sent me and opened box and signs that it was used. And on top of that, the controller is broken and i have to wait for God knows when, the stores and havent a clue what department will open due to the curent situation. Lovely job GameStop!

I ordered a 12 month membership for Playstation Plus on Monday morning for my godsons birthday birthday tomorrow which is Friday.

I got an email later on Monday to say my Playstation Plus DLC was available to download and to click the link to download. The link was just to log into your account and I don’t have one nor did it make you create one when purchasing the membership.

I’ve emailed GameStop several times and rang their customer service 9-10 times and nothing back. Their customer service number isn’t even a Helpdesk, it’s just a voicemail service.

I’ve not had one bit of response from them in 4 days, it’s disgraceful.

Bought a brand new Xbox controller here because the jack in the previous one had failed and warranty over by the time I'd realized. After a week in use this xbox controller jack stopped working obviously faulty. Brought back the item with the receipt and the guy was extremely rude to me in the presence of my 7 year old. He said the controller was filthy ( it wasn't and was trying to imply I wasn't a very clean person extremely insulting) and tried to get away with saying it was my fault and using the light from his mobile phone tried to say there was scrapes and food particles inside and there was not. ''What did you do with it that you had it a week then'' he asked.

Basically it was himself trying to lay the blame upon me. I told him to plug it in and test it himself to which he complained ''that means I've to take out the xbox and hook it up''. When he did this and realized it wasn't operational, that the controller was defective, I told him that I'd googled the issue and lots of people are complaining about microsoft controllors faulty jacks but according to him I'm the only one who has come to his store with this issue.

I was offered an exchange, I asked for a refund, I got a refund, he wasn't pleasant about it at all and an extremely intimidating condescending individual. I've worked in retail and in all my years doing so I've NEVER come across such a down and out mean spirited fella behind the counter of a store such as this. I know it's very difficult to work in retail and you will see all sorts coming in claiming this and that but that lad needs a change of job because he's about as much customer service in him as I've ever seen in retail. In fact it's been years since I've encountered such a nasty individual as this in any retail store. At no time was I ever aggressive either so as to illicit a nasty response from him. I'll NEVER buy anything in gamestop Dundalk again

I purchased over €400 worth of playstation VR equipment on a Friday morning. When I made the purchase the website states that the 4 items were in stock and would be delivered within 48 hours. I waited for over the 48 hours and no sign of the order. So I mailed their customer service department and got no reply, I contacted their customer services by phone with no answer and I left my details and got no call back. I mailed and called every day for over a week and got no reply. I then tried to ccointact them through Facebook and Twitter as they were very active on these but once again no reply. It took over ten days before I got a reply, after I Facebook's them to say I was calling to their HQ to get a refund, they told me they had ran out of stock and had just got some stock in and it would be shipped out that evening. I was again made to wait as it was another 5 days before the order was shipped. I purchased a lot of my stuff on line and have had some issues with orders from other companies before, from all over the world, but always had feedback from their customer services, but Game stop were by far the worst/most useless company I have ever dealt with. I will never purchase anything from them online again and I advise other to stay clear of their online shop. They cannot be relied on. In total I was waiting nearly three weeks for an order that was suppose to take 24 hours and left with 0 customer service.

Went today to the Cork Patrick Street store, wanting to purchase a game - the employee pestered me to purchase an used copy instead because it was 5€ cheaper. I declined because I don't like used games, and he got snarky, saying that I was "wasting my money".

I jokingly said that if I was to save money I should go to Argos instead where the game is 10€ cheaper, then he got pissy and declined to sell me the game, telling me to "go to Argos" And so I did!

Avoid.

I've been trying to get a response from a real person for over a week now. All I've gotten was an automated response saying they were busy and they would get back to me within 24 hours. They give you the option of replying to the automated email. So I did, complaining about how long it's taken to get a response that wasn't automated. They responded with an automated email. Painful to get any communication from.

Got only half of the order for a Christmas present last year. Customer service ignores you completely. Phone lines are closed and you have to leave your number, but they don't call back. Their helpdesk doesn't bother replying at all. I tried for six months. Stay away!
