Understanding ambitious businesses

I have invested via Growth Street for a little over two months. The model is a very straightforward proposition, risk is mitigated and my interaction with the company has been well received. The website is very simple and unfussy. So far, so good.

I have been investing now for several months and like what I am seeing, Hands off investing at a reasonable rate. Will invest in an IFISA if they apply this to the classic account instead of the yearly bond IFISA which they offer now.

Greg Carter should be made Prime Minister. Growth Street has very low default rates, transparent figures and it's staff are good communicators.

Whilst not a particularly high rate of return, the loans are, in practice, only for 1 month. My opinion is that GS are quite good for diversification.

I've been investing with Growth Street for a few years now and I have nothing but praise for this plataform. It's trustworthy, has very low defaults and pays very good interest on 30 day loans. They take some beating. Excellent.

I’ve been using Growth Street for 3 months now. So far everything has gone like clockwork and I’ve been very impressed. There has been no delay whatsoever in getting money lent out. Whilst I wanted both to make an initial investment with Growth Street and two subsequent top-ups since, cash back incentives applicable in all 3 instances have been most welcome. It’s great that the loans are only for a month so that in normal circumstances you can readily gain access to you money. Now, if only they’d offer an ISA - come on guys!

Modest amount invested 3 months ago and so far everything seems to be performing as expected.Will be considering adding further funds when available. I like the fact risk is diversified across the whole portfolio which means I don't have to worry about how the loans I am directly matched to perform. This has been a concern for me with some other P2P platforms.

So far so good, I have been with GS for 18 months and interest is there each month.

An overall excellent company - 30 day loans, fixed interest, easy access, etc. The ISA is interesting, will go for it if it's offered in 30 day chunks as the classic is, or if another bonus is offered!

Obviously as with all P2P, the model is untested in recession/bad times, but I have more faith in this than most. The bonuses are also very generous - I am getting 200 on 2000 investment, so 15+% return after the interest.

Customer service is excellent - prompt replies, helpful knowledgeable staff (Jonny and Joanna both excellent, thank you).

Interface is ok - easy to understand but lacking functionality. For example the account details link seems to be broken and there are little things, like missized columns in 'summary' leading to odd text, and I can't check my address or linked account easily. Overall the website could do with some attention to detail, but not a major issue.

Overall a great company.

An interesting variation on many P2P models, with loans restricted to a maximum of 30 days. This is largely a 'hands-off' investment - put funds into your account and loans are set up for you. Been using Growth Street for a few months now and the returns are as expected, happy so far. Funds I have put in have been invested into loans very quickly. Growth Street offer an IFISA subject of course to current ISA regulations. The website is easy to use and offers the option of regular monthly withdrawals of just interest, or both interest and capital.

As with all P2P lenders, any funds invested are not covered by FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme) protection which needs to be borne in mind when deciding whether/how much to invest.

Happy investor for more than 4 months. Interest rate as advertised paid on monthly basis, appropriately sized Loan Loss Provision funds and simple interface.

Haven't tried the ISA bond yet as it requires 12m commitment.

It gets worse, Growth Street are the only P2P lender I have been investing with (of more than 8) that will now no longer let you even withdraw your interest which is paid back into your holding account, instead they save it up and reinvest it against your wishes...

I went on live chat and all they do is copy & paste a section of their T&C's and don't reply to you as a human being. Why even have customer services if this is what you're going to do? They're going to have no investors left once this is all over.

We browsed the web and found that this business has an active Facebook page. We have found that this business does not have SSL (secure sockets layer), which means that you should think twice before trusting this business with your data, such as personal information or credit card details, because your information will not be digitally connected to a cryptographic key and secure connection cannot be established. We found that the domain for this business is older than two years which could be an indication that this is a trustworthy business with an established customer base and experience in their field. We found that this business has an Instagram page, where they communicate with their customers using images and videos. This is usually an indication that the business has some visual aspects that it wants to showcase.
