Had issues with ordering online and gave a 2 star review.. was contacted within 30 minutes from a Jim, saying he is the ceo.. didn't care about the issue.. just wanted me to change it to 5 star... after I refused he wanted to just agree to cancel order.. I said no.. but he did it anyway.. there is something wrong with this person.. dont know why a business would treat a consumer this way.. I have all the emails to show the conversation..greg n

I bought an item from them that failed shortly after beginning to use it. I contacted them and they promptly replaced it, even though the manufacturer's policy was to try to repair first. They responded quickly to my concerns & communication and made it right. Highly recommend!

Ordering another of the same product. The first one worked great in addition to arriving very promptly. Again, two thumbs up to HDTV Supply's phone Tech Support staff for pointing me to this item.

I'm buying another product from you, after having returned one I bought by mistake. I've had to speak with about 4 customer service and tech support reps before I was able to return the last product I bought by mistake. I didnt realize the converter wouldnt handle 5.1 surround digital optical audio input. The first rep I reached out to in tech support was helpful, and asked me to troubleshoot my item to make sure it isnt defective before returning. I called back but it was close to 5 PM on friday so I waited till the next week. The next person was in sales, and said something close to "we might be out of that of that item (the correct converter), let me check if we have it and call you back" never called back. I called tech support again the next week. Was connected with Mike T. SUPER HELPFUL. He communicated well, connected me with a link to the proper converter, and helped connect me with the right RMA individual. He wanted to make sure I was ordering the right item and connected me with another individual in Tech. Mike made it sound like the person he was connected me with was some sort of specialist. I was connected with an older-sounding gentlemen in the technical support department, he wasnt very kind. He said "the website CLEARLY STATES that converter doesnt convert dolby digital". He has a point, it does, but I was ordering a new converter because I made a mistake, I know now that I was mistaken. It doesn't feel great to have it rubbed in my face. Besides, reading "dolby digital" doesn't always translate so easily to the average shopper as "5.1 surround". Overall he was pretty impatient with me, although I tried to be kind and clear with him on the phone anyway. Anyway, theres the feedback, I hope this new converter works out for me. I think it will.

Was able to call and service representative to better identify the solution I needed and assist with the back order in recommending a very cost effective method in getting it shipped once they received it.

It was quick, they had what I wanted, now if it works when it gets here. I have tried 3 other brands, all 3 have failed out of the box. Update: It works. Interesting tidbit, the other 3 were near exact copies of the Firmware/Software running the unit. Not sure who is the original owner of the design/firmware, but it is obvious the other 3 were much older firmware releases. Has a wide range of abilities, output is good.

The equipment appears to be quite simple, power supply, two boxes, one CAT 6 cable between HDMI in and HDMI out. But it did not work. I have a CAT 6 cable tester and it worked? I tried more than one, still it did not work. Not sure what could be wrong :(

Having the text conversation option is fantastic. Really appreciated it. I was still set on the coax route, but settled on the Cat5 because of the conversation. Incredibly helpful to me as a first responder. Likewise even with a problem with the transmitter, the new one was sent immediately. Excellent customer service.

This review was originally written Oct 21st, 2009. Please pay attention to the addition that I added at the bottom on Oct 27th, 2009 it may save you lots of headaches.

Placed order on a Sunday Oct 18th for an Item I had researched for weeks. I needed this item for an install on Oct 22. The item was in stock on the website and I choose a 2 day Air delivery so that the item would ship on Monday arrive on Wednesday for installation on Thursday. Makes sense doesn't it? That's the way we all do business right?

Got an email dated Oct 20th at 12:45 pm saying the order had just been shipped. I did not read the email until 9am on the 21st I checked UPS and saw the tracking number but the only thing UPS site said was that at 6:30 pm on the 20th that they received billing information and I did not see that it had been picked up or that it was in route anywhere.

I placed a phone call to the 800# for them and left a message to be called ASAP. I then went to the website and put in a trouble ticket with the same request to talk to manager, owner or president. Around 11:30am I get a return email asking me what the problem is? So I call the 800 # again and now it's disconnected? Leads me to now be really scared of this company. So I call the regular number. The phone is answered by a gentleman and I ask for owner or manager. His response is well you have to go thru me first. so I explain everything and he says "well I'm sorry but yes we screwed up on your order". I ask him what's he gonna do? And he's not gonna do anything but say he's sorry. So I ask for the owner again.... This time he says "well that's me". Why did you lie to me up front?

These guys did nothing to fix the problem, did nothing to offer me compensation for their mistake and flat out said just return it and we'll refund all your money. Not gonna cover the extra expenses to locate another one and have it shipped, not gonna cover loss of income due to their mistake and not willing to at least cover the shipping charges for the 2 day air when it's not gonna make it in time.

I would NEVER do business with a company like this again!

ADDED 27 OCT 20009

On Monday the 26th of Oct I received a letter from a collection agency claiming that I now was in default of a $25,000.00 bill from HDTV Supply. This was the first time I've done business with this company and I bought and paid for the item on-line with AMEX. So, I called the company and was told by the owner that he was thinking of suing me and that he had started a campaign against me. To stop it I would need to remove these reviews of his company. I am now in LEGAL PURGATORY trying to get them to arrest this guy for extortion and mail fraud and anything else they can come up with. Also trying to stop him from ruining my credit and my good name with his bully techniques.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN YOU WILL REGRET IT.

I wanted to respond since I was just reminded of the incident by the companies BBB response over one year later.

1. They didn't read the 4 emails we sent them. Nope read each of them. The 2nd told me it shipped correctly the 3rd told me it shipped wrong and the 4th did not eve answer the question I asked.

2. They didn't return 2 tel calls.
Nope they NEVER called to figure this out.

3. We offered to have them refuse delivery, return money and they said no.
Nope how could I do this. I was not even going to be there when the item was delivered.

4. We offered to give money back if they send it back but they refused,
Yep they sure did but did not offer to cover shipping charges in either direction.

5. They accepted the unit and their customer was happy.
Nope I had to buy something else at 5 times the cost, install it and the other unit sits in my garage unused!

6. The person we finally talked to was very violent and threatened our company and employees with harm so be careful if you ever do business with BigRockStudio in GA.
LOL this comment is nothing but a joke and does not deserve any response!

I would just like to say there customer support is excellent, they helped me find a solution to a problem I was having, I chose overnight shipping I receive the product hooked it up and it worked wonderfully

Called them for help and they recommended product (on weekend after hours) and i received the product in a very short time considering they shipped it to FL from CA. I give these guys five stars based on technical assistance, product quality and ship time. All three got 5 starts.
