Of the places that said they had this drive available, this is by far the most highly rated.
No problems with the order. It arrived on time, packed much better than some things I get.
Would buy from them again.
I ordered a very nice Bluetooth blood pressure monitor as recommended by my doctor. The package took about 7 days to show up, which I feel is totally ridiculous today. When I opened the shipping box, I knew there was going to be trouble. It wasn't wrapped and had an old price tag on top of another that had been peeled off... Just sloppy looking, but the box was torn. When I opened the Withings box (which wasn't sealed) it was obvious that this thing was either a floor sample or a return. I've bought other Withings products and they do not come packaged like this.

*******UPDATE*******
After contacting PayPal, and having a 3 way conference call with the seller, the remainder of my money was refunded. But oh, what a hassle!
My order was for a dual-pga370 server motherboard.
years now and have always been very
satisfied with the service. Will buy
from them again and soon :)
Since I started dealing with them, they have consistently had the best prices on the products I wanted. My orders always ship the same day, and the shipping rates are appropriate, unlike so many other online vendors. I've made quite a few calls to them over the years for support or for RMA requests, and I never have had trouble speaking with a rep. They have a very reasonable exchange/warranty policy, and in many cases have gone far beyond their warranty obligations to keep me happy.
The customer rating of '5.25' listed on this site is completely unwarranted. I give them a '10'. (and i've never taken the time to post to one of these sites before, if that tells you anything.)
I Called the support staff - service was incredible - I am having another drive overnighted, free of charge. My only gripe is they aren't mailing a return label to cover the return shipping of the DOA product, but they're giving free overnight on the return product, so it's a trade-off in my book. I deal with several vendors and this has been an excellent first-time buying experience. Not even Dell offers is this speedy, and I've spent millions of dollars with them.
As for the previous comment I read about someone's shipping being higher than expected: This is clearly user error - users need to be more careful with the scroll wheel on their mouse - Because the shipping uses a dropdown menu, if you use your mouse's scroll wheel while the shipping field is highlighted, you'll change the shipping rate :).
I would bet my life this person set the shipping price and, upon trying to scroll down the page, they scroll down through the shipping options. Gotta watch that stuff! ;)
New Socket 370 motherboards are difficult to come by, and they're somewhat expensive, as well, which is to be expected from older technology. But Hyper Microsystems listed several Socket 370 boards for reasonable prices. An Intel-brand mini-ATX board with an 815 chipset caught my eye. I ordered the board in the wee hours Monday morning. Later that day I received an e-mail to let me know my order shipped and to provide me with a FedEx Ground tracking number. I received the board on Wednesday! Everything arrived in excellent condition.
I nearly didn't buy from Hyper Microsystems because of the last couple of comments on Reseller Ratings. But I rolled the dice and did well. I would order from Hyper Microsystems again based on my positive experience, but, of course, I will also check the reviews again before making a purchase.
With the second order I received no tracking number by email. I called them the second day after I had ordered and was speaking with a Real Human within a minute. He read off my tracking number to me and I looked it up on Fedex's site; it was due for delivery the next day. It didn't come that day, however; I let a week pass before I called them again (as I had lost the paper with the tracking number). Was speaking to a Real Human within a minute. He gave me the tracking number again, which I looked up on Fedex's site. It looked like it had been held up; no fault of HM's.
Have I mentioned that you talk to a Real Human who's Competent and can speak the English Language within a minute every time you call these guys? That's so rare anymore, but it's great for the company to be there whenever you need help.
*edit*
My one big complaint with these guys (the ONLY complaint, I might add) is that their site needs work. Links from the product pages to other pages with the detailed specifications for the items in question would be fine; as it stands, the product descriptions are five lines of tiny text in-line. Two lines listing just the critical information (interface type, model number, canonical name) + a link to a product information page and a link to the whitepaper on that particular model / family would be best.
Also, you don't "log in" to their site, so you don't have a user page where you can look at previous orders or get your tracking numbers for packages online. Tracking numbers are only given through email, and if for some reason you don't get that you have to call them. The "tracking" link at the top of their site is a link to Fedex's page.
I'm a very forgiving person and if they make things right, I'll definitely post back. I strongly suspect that they will want to make me a happy customer, based upon some of the comments I've seen here. On a positive note, I suspect that the reason they sent it Express Saver is because in the ordering comments field, I posted that I was recommended by Storagereview.com. I knew that entitled me to free ground shipping, and I was hoping it might also entitle me to a discount on the Next Day Air which I had selected. Still, it's a very curious thing indeed to send something Express Saver (usually 3-day) when the customer specifically requests Next Day.
EDIT: What can I say? I'm impressed. They preemptively corrected their mistake before I even received the wrong drives! Within a matter of hours, I'll receive the correct drives, courtesy of Hyper Microsystems & Fedex Priority Overnight. My bad experience with this company has turned from sour into 100% sweet.
Because of some bad feedback on RR and I live in the same state, I was going to get one from newegg. But I decided to call and see if they take will calls. (If they do, I can pick it up, saving s/h. Also, return would be easier, if there's any problem.)
I called around 3 PM, and was greeted by a human promptly. He was knowledgable and curteous. I ened up placing an order during the call, because he offered free s/h. The phone call lasted about 8 min, and on the next day, I received the hdd.
Shopping from Hyper Microsystems was a very plesant one. Thank you, Andrew.

Update: After posting this, I received another email from Mike that the disks had already shipped. Nothing but roses for this bunch - unlike so many other resellers. I just cannot believe the prompt responses I have gotten and the pleasant way they have treated me. Definitely gonna stick with this company!
