I have been with ING for a few years now. Never had a problem with them, great customer service. And it's amazing that they rebate me for ATM fees and international currency exchange fees.

At the start I was impressed by what they offered ...
Ie free ATM , 2% cashback on purchase using paywave , $100 referral bonuses and 50c bonus if u cash out $200 or more

As time goes on they take the perks from us. There is no longer 2% cash back and the 50c bonus.

In addition to that they made it a lot harder to get the higher interest and free ATM.. u now have to make 5 card purchases a month...

You know what I'll just go to CBA .. I can go to any of the big 4 ATM for free...

I've been with ING for over 8 years now and can't fault them. Over the years I've had some issues with scammers trying to steal my money but ING has been quick to action and I've never lost any money at all. ING is the best financial institution I've ever banked with and I frequently recommend them to family and friends. I'll be looking to move into the property market soon and will be looking to take out a mortgage with ING because so far they have the best interest rate around. Do yourself a favour and join ING... Not only do you get amazing savings and rebates but their customer service is above and beyond any other bank I've ever encountered.

Hi,

We have been happy with ING to date, however we have had 2 issues:

Today we went to open an account for our son as he will be starting a part time job soon and we wanted to introduce him to ING Everyday Saver - except it is not available for under 18's. How disappointing. Come On ING - time to get an under 18's version of this great product to get our kids started on the right foot in terms of banking!

Also, we have had an issue with needing to deposit a cheque. Followed all the steps to post it in to the replied paid address with all details printed on the back. But it never hit the account - not sure if it is ING or Aust Post, but disappointing that we need to get the cheque cancelled and re-issued, to then try and deposit it again. I thought it would be straight forward without a local branch, but this is a bit of a dampener on the experience.

Otherwise great product and App, and still happy so far - so we will see what happens over the next 6-12 months.

We've had an experience where we ordered nursery furniture online from a well known merchant - the total amount was $3,800 and we purchased it with our ING Visa card. The furniture merchant was able to charge our ING account almost double the amount ordered (Over $6900) and ING has no security processes in place to ensure that the amount taken out of our account equals the order amount. So basically if you ordered say a $50 product online with a merchant, ING would allow that merchant to take as many funds from your account as they wish.
We've called ING twice to rectify the matter and both instances have resulted in them suggesting I call the merchant to rectify as they are unable to do so.
I've called the merchant twice and emailed twice and they have not rectified, saying it is ING's mistake

Surely you would expect ING to provide security of your finances if you are their customer. This is not the case. Be warned.

I was thrilled with ING at first, and late last year I moved across a lot of direct debits and had my entire salary deposited into my ING account.

However the recent upcoming changes to be eligible for fee free ATMs (5 transactions that are not ATM or EFTPOS withdrawals) are frankly onerous and costly to me as I have a free credit card with an excellent rewards program from another institution - and are surprising coming at a time when the Big 4 are moving toward free ATM use.

As a result of the changes I'll be moving the bulk of my salary deposits and other transactions etc back to a Big 4 account.

I imagine ING has thought this through - given my responses to the upcoming changes I am probably an unprofitable customer ING would prefer not to have anyway. But perhaps what hasn't been considered is that I'll also most likely stop using my ING saving Maximiser account in the near future as well.

In addition, in the past I took advantage of the incentives to introduce new people to ING. I felt I was genuinely doing them a favour (especially when there was a small % payback for using paywave). However in the past 12 months I can't bring myself to recommend ING to anyone, because frankly I don't see it offering anything above the other banks anymore... and in fact has several limitations.

Thanks for the opportunity to provide this feedback.

Clever business model that must save millions of $$$s per year by not having physical bank branches

Should be returned to loyal customers via substantially higher interest rates on deposits

I really want to rate five stars but one little thing is really getting up my nose.
I love everything about ING --EXCEPT this new requirement that I must do 5 transactions on my debit card before I can receive the bonus interest for depositing $1000+ monthly. In my particular situation this is really a pain. I'm sure you have your reasons, but ----..

This bank is fresh of Noahs Ark. Simple task l wanted 2 bank statements not so simple for them 5 phone calls over 3 days and still mot resolved plus they charge $7 a copy no electronic downloads like other banks. When you ask where are the statements you promised they tell you the process has to go to different teams l wonder if they still write on stone tablets
The statements were urgent and l paid the $14 for both but still do not have them will probably ne a week and cost me quite a bit of time anyone who is fool enough to deal with this prehistoric bank you will learn as l have

I have been with ING for ONLY eight months and so far they have raised the interest rate by 0.15 TWICE. I understand that I am using a variable rate product but how variable? Every 3 months variable? I started on 3.75 and ONLY after a few months the rate has gone up to 3.93. With this pace, I am going to get 5+ soon! BE AWARE OF THEIR ADVERTISED RATES! It's just a gimmick to lure you in!

I moved to ING after Scott Pape's recommendation, I liked everything about ING except that I've not been able to close my bank account with Westpac which I was moving from, because you only allow 2 everyday accounts. If you want all my banking and loyalty, fix this, pleaseeeee.

Working the Scott Pape system I need to make payments from my Fire Extinguisher account which is a Savings account because the 2 everyday accounts are used for Daily Exp and Splurge - which means to pay down a debt, I have to transfer money from my Fire Ext acnt to an everyday account, and then pay it, tooo many steps, ridiculous! This is a friction point for me :(

I know you have no fees - but I'd be happy to at least have the option to open additional everyday accounts for an additional fee, with just the first 2 being fee free, I'm willing to pay a fee if it means I can at least keep everything within ING!

Please help with this - most people in the FB groups for SP's system rant about this frustration too. There's 1000's of us - but you'd know that.

Thanks for listening, hope you action it sooner rather than later!!

i had two yr term deposit 2.85%+0.1% bonus royal interest if keep doing it.
They cancelled the royal interest just in the sudden after 1 yr, i felt unhappy n unacceptable because i lost 0.1% interest rate. I applied for early termination, the guy mentioned i will get my money for total approx 41510 after 31 days. But after 31 days i only received 40880, i called and asked why, another staff mentioned it seemed computer error then will transfer to management team for further investigation. Then next day i called n spoke to one of their management term, they mentioned the amount i received was correct. i said how come the guy gave me wrong info and 630 huge differ. She listened to the record and still kept saying the guy didnt give me wrong info and said the guy said approximate but 630 differ approximate? I dun think so. And why another guy said it was computer error, i always thought i can get my 630 back. I will close all my account with ING. The manager kept saying they didnt give me wrong info of cos she said so becoz don't want to admit that then giving me 630 back!

Had an account with these jokers for 15 years and they needed to confirm who I am. I did everything they asked and it was never good enough. They even insinuated I could be a terrorist!! They are rude and condescending. They locked me out of my account and I had to contact their head office in Amsterdam to stop them making me beg every time I wanted to access my money. Steer well away or prepare yourself for a grim time.

Using the ING banking service has been very good up to date however, as a retiree I will find using my card 5 times a month to pay for purchases going to be a pain in the proverbial. Most stores insist on a minim spend of at least $5 or $10 per transaction, that's $50 a month in some cases. This plus monthly cash withdrawals for general expenses and direct debits that are withdrawn from my every day account each month, all tend to add up not leaving much room to save from the age pension. A pensioner concession on card usage would be very much appreciated.

After 3 years of holding ING account, I switched to an Aussie bank. If you have any issue accessing your money in ING, you will experience a very difficult time and no customer care at all.

Just so easy to use: great communications, excellent product, fast, friendly, knowledgeable phone service (if you need it 24/7), great interface - just a very modern banking solution with old fashioned, excellent customer service values.

I have been a customer with Ing for more than 10 years. I've been asked to provide ID and address document in January 2020. The deadline is about one week.

Ing sent me an email which looks suspicious because the call back phone number is different from their customer service phone number. I had to call their customer service number on website to confirm the phone number for KYC (Know Your Customer).

After speaking to their staff, I realised that Ing has been penalised millions of dollars in Europe because they haven't done their part of counter money laundering. This is the reason for the rush and I've been a customer with Ing for more than 10 years.

I had to photocopy my driving licence (proof of address) and passport (proof of ID), get them certified, scan and return them all within a few days so my access to my account won't be restricted.

After certification of my documents, I had to call them to confirm receipt (no calls from Ing) to ensure they receive it because there was no confirmation of receipt and no call etc. So my account won't be restricted (this is the threat). If this is a real rush, why can't they call me?

Then I was asked to complete another form because I used my middle name instead of first name. In the form, there is no option relevant to my case (switch of middle and first name). I've been a customer of Ing for more than 10 years.

Again, I was threatened that my account will be restricted if they haven't received the mail within a week. (Sorry, I don't deliver the letter to Ing).

I've asked numerous times why the rush because I've been a customer with Ing for more than 10 years. No answer. No response.

I've asked for a formal apology and moved all my money out of Ing to prepare for the restrictions. I think Ing wants me to do this anyway.

I don't expect to receive any apologies from Ing based on my experieince.
