Since first meeting with sales representative and consecutive meetings with [name removed] we were impressed with customer service.As first time builders we had tons of questions and all were happily explained to us.
We would highly recommend JG King Homes to anyone considering building their new home.All steps of the build process were clearly explained and staff of JG king homes Horsham were always available when we had any questions

[name removed] was our New Home Sales Consultant, and he was amazing, as he was very understanding and even got us a discount! He won us over due to his loving and caring personality, and his great knowledge on what JG King Homes had to offer!

After signing some paperwork, we then got handed over to [name removed], who was our Customer Service Administrator, and she was quite slow with emails and made a couple mistakes on our documents, but those were fixed soon after. Then mid-way through the Pre-Construction process, [name removed] came in and took [name removed] position, and did a fantastic job! Very kind, friendly, and understanding! Easy to contact, quick and efficient, as she replied to our emails within minutes, and kept us up to date on where we were up to, and what we needed to do next!

The final cost was the same as the estimated cost, which was awesome as everything was as expected and there were no hidden fees! We are very excited to start our construction phase, and feel confident that we can always contact [name removed] or [name removed], as they both reassured us that we can email or call them whenever we have any issues or concerns. Overall, great customer service provided to us so far!

P.S. JG King Homes is offering a $100 Coles e-voucher if we leave feedback on this site to help improve their business, as long as we leave our building permit number on here, which is BS-U 1441 5704787364392/0.

The Team from JG king home have been great help from day one of consultation.
Michael sales assistant has been great help from day one coming out to my site and assisting me and going through which house would suite the current block. Very, patient with the following steps, he was going through to pick the house suitable, for my comfort and the fit for the current block.

Upon signing of contracts, at office Aditit was very informative of the contract and going through with changes, and additional extras, need to be added upon signing. Going through to the showroom and selecting which features, I will be getting on the new build.

Final Stage of building plans, building permits. Mamatha was great help checking any changes, to plans and council updates, with building permits, and issues , I had. Mamatha, always responding to my emails, and phone calls quickly, Thanks. BUILDING PERMIT APPROVED!! now let the Building Construction start.••

We are at the initial stages as construction is starting some time in Early September and so far the admin team : The admin team have been very helpful and explain all points to me as its my first home and there are so many doubts and red flags. Pricing has been on competitive side with them and its a good package all together. Fingers crossed as i wait to see the final outcome.

We met the building supervisor, I wanted to try everything out. We never did a tour of the house he never checked anything. I turned the tap on in the kitchen ,no hot water! plumber came the next day one way valve put on the hot water service backwards ,okay went home to get clothes came back en-suite flooded they hadnt tested the system everything was hand tightened only. When we moved in there was already a hole in the bricks because a pipe had burst, can you imagine how that feels on my first day in my new home. We have also had a pipe in the roof which must have leaked while the house was being built which has caused the MDF to swell in the hall, then the pipe that had burst before we moved in burst again, not just a small leak completely emptied the hot water service at least twice, now the paint is peeling in the laundry no surprises there! We were told by the plumbers who fixed it the second time that there was a dodgy lot of clamps used in our house they should be fine but they may burst like they had done twice already .please understand we have pipes running the entire length of the house in the roof and walls ,this is no comfort to me. I can no longer cope with the stress of trying to get them to fix things that have never been my fault please see photos the list is too long to put here but we are devastated with how we have been treated. I would avoid this company I have made this review before I send the final letter to fix our house. We deserve to be heard and have our house fixed

This was our second time building with JG King and oh how things have changed. The sales consultant was great to work with and planning went along without a hitch. The build hasn’t gone exactly to plan. We’ve been in the house for over four years and still have no resolution over our feature tiles in the ensuite. We paid extra for these and had it in the plan how they were meant to look but didn’t get the result we ordered. Tiles started popping in the main living area two years later and it took them 1year after reporting it (And constant calls) to do anything about it. Unfortunately by then the tiles had changed so they haven’t been able to fix it completely. We are still currently pursuing the issue. We also had other issues like interior paint used outside(went mouldy), seals in showers, toilet roll holders not in studs (fell out of wall) etc. They have however fixed these smaller issues. The reception ladies have been nice, the problem is their management. They never get back to you when they say, they speak rudely to you over the phone and don’t take your concerns seriously and apparently no one is accountable for anything once you handover. So my advice to anyone wanting to build with JG King is to with hold progress payments until all work is completed to your standards and make sure every contact you have with them is in writing. This is one return customer that won’t be coming back again.

Original plan sighed and deposit paid start of December 2018. Planing stage completed mid May. I feel it may have been a delayed process. 1st time building so not too sure of usual timings. Love the house plan provided and the added costs were a bit of an eye opener. Opted out on a lot of extras due to cost. Hopefully build runs a lot smoother and there are no communication issues.

I approached JG KING Homes to get a quote for construction early 2019 after having had a lengthy and unpleasant experience with Dennis Family homes. The agent told me that the whole process will be really fast which didn't happen of course.
They refused to take into account the works which had already been carried out previously on the property and requested that I pay $2000 before looking into it then came back requesting an extra $500 just to get a quote which was also non refundable. I was later asked for a further $5000 before the contract had even been signed which was also non refundable and before my loan has even been approved, which I refused to pay.
My construction loan application fell through and despite several attempts to recover some of the money I paid to them they totally refused. It's such a scam considering the fact that any other builder would have given at least a partial refund. I also found out from another jg king display home rep that I only needed to pay $2000 and not $2500. I am looking at taking the matter to VCAT.

Salesman was exceptional but actual build took way too long and supervisor was never there to oversee the mistakes that occurred. On handover we were compensated but the mistakes could not be rectified. Eighteen months on and JG King is not interested in helping at all with any maintenance issues.

I put trust in jg king to build my dream home. What I have instead is a disaster. The house doesn't meet standards and tolerances. They have completed a level 5 on the plaster yet still doesn't meet standards and tolerances. At no stage had they had my interests at heart. They disregard anything I say. The house was suppose to be completed 12 March 2019. I'm now faced with being homeless because where I'm staying has given me an eviction notice as they want to sell the house. I am a single mum with 4 Kids at home. I put my trust in jg king to build my beautiful 55.5 square home.

The quality of any trades are substandard and their saying its not too bad. My brickwork is poor the mortar is falling out over window sills and the spaces between the brick and mortar is large. The window sills are like a wave. The upstairs bathroom creaks when walking on it. At Every stage this has been a nightmare. The concrete slab is disgusting. I have a rainbow pattern through it because of the trowel marks and dips in the concrete. They said they are going to fix certain things with my house but then again they have said that all along and hasn't been done to any standard.
They also said the standards and tolerances is only a guide. Well maybe so however when the mortar is up to 25-30mm wide that is certainly not acceptable.

Let's see what happens when my independent inspector comes to view the end product. Unfortunately I don't trust a thing jg king says anymore.
The only positive is a reasonable supervisor by the name of [name removed]

signed My first home contract with jg king Shepparton and it took 11 months to completed single story 4 bedroom home. At the beginning they have drawn plan,done soil test for wrong land and had to wait another 2 months to start building. The supervisor has changed and when no one answer our phone calls we rang Shepparton office and every time their answer was we don’t know anything about building process. They do not care customers at all building with them was really headache for us and still continued
Our canopy lights in the kitchen not working since very first day and have informed the supervisor 5 times now and still not fixed. Dirty marks on the walls and got paint patches everywhere on the walls house is still 3 months old and now the ceiling is cracked . There are many cracks on the ceiling as shown in the pictures. Window ledges have painted on dirt and now cracked everywhere. Just 3 days after we moved to house bathroom was flooded and they replaced vanity after we complained. We really worry about choosing them to build our new home as we had lots of troubles from the building process and still happening . Really disappointed and do not recommend them for anyone

My husband and I are currently building our first home with JG King Ballarat and we had a few hurdles in the early stages and took 2 years from first signing to construction start due the factors out of our control (Council). I see in the new advertising that the price is now locked for 18months, this literally would of saved us thousands of dollars.

The construction part of the build has been a delight our site supervisor has great communication skills and is very approachable. We feel that we are able to ask questions with ease and makes the build so much more enjoyable.

The admin girls team were helpful from start to finish, prompt with communication and replies.

The tile selection process should definitely be improved and to get a proper look and feel for your colour choices they should be closer together. The tile which we based our colours off in the J G King show room wasn’t one free included at our tile appointment even though the colour consultant told us it was, this was annoying and after my tile appointment it was rectified for future clients.

We are yet to move in, approximately a month out but currently we are loving every aspect of our house. The brickie has done an amazing job, The tiles looks absolutely amazing, The render looks so smooth.
Every step is met with excitement and I haven’t found to many errors or issues so far we are very happy with our first home.

Compared to our first quote from J G King we went another $100,000 plus over.

I would definitely recommend to family and friends to build with J G King.

I have so far built 4 homes with JG King. Overall, I am happy with all four homes. Great bang for your buck, and great quality for your buck. As for the negatives, I would rate the hot water systems as their major downfall (Chromagen). All of the solar panels (frost valves) have failed within 6-18 months, on each home. Once the home is over 12 months of age, they are no longer covered under warranty. Other than this, experience has been good, and it has been relatively easy to arrange for other faults to be fixed (which are covered under warranty).

Recently built with JG king in Traralgon. The build was managed well and organised. Happy with the outcome and quality of the property. The company addressed issues that was raised. The costs were affordable and reasonable. Regular updates were given on the progress of the build and inspections were always welcome throughout the process. Overall happy with the build of the house and the build was completed in a timely manner.

My husband and I built a home with JG King that was completed in July, 2019.
A number of factors went in to us choosing JG King to build our first home. First being- price. At the time we found their base pricing is quite competitive for the product and market in Melbourne. The floor plans are also functional, with open plan layouts ideal for families.
Their Up Collection is a great entry level house build and it suited our budget at the time, enabling us to choose some great upgrades to suit our family.
Sales staff were also helpful. We found they were no frills, easy going, happy to answer questions and certainly not pushy. They also didn't tell us what was 'wrong' with other builders and were quite positive, we thought that was quite refreshing.
Where I feel that JG King are let down is with consistency of communication between management, site coordinators and building staff- it is a real issue with this company.
My husband and I were very patient clients and understood that some weeks would be quiet on the build site. However, our basic home, four bedrooms- (we did our own flooring, down lights, driveway etc) took 9 months.
We had four changes in project managers, one in particular who over promised and under delivered, resulting in us breaking a lease early (as we were told told us it would be completed within two months- and it ended up taking another 4 months after that! It cost us financially and feel it could have been avoided with better communication. One project manager, we didn't hear from in the four weeks he had it. I believe some of the project managers we built with are no longer working with the company.
We finally struck gold with our last project manager who turned it around and had our home completed within five weeks from when he received it, where it had been sitting idle for months. I am aware they've recently had good staff come on board which will hopefully benefit the consumer.
Workmanship wise- it is good and what we paid for, a basic home build. The inclusions are not unlike any builder inclusions across Melbourne. Paint job was shocking, but in talking to our neighbours most weren't impressed with their paint jobs on new home builds! And that varies from 'volume' builders through to those who used custom builders.
Overall, we've been in the home for two months now and all is great. If I could be assured of a standard of communication and building across their project managers (which I think was the main reason for our terrible delays) and more effective communication, I would build with them again.
A great price, great layout, and overall happy- thanks JG king.

Our first Meeting with sales consultant [name removed], he explained everything and helped us to choose the right plan after that he helped us through the whole process. Our administrative leader [name removed] was very helpful and she arranged the building permit and insurance etc.within two weeks .she is so patient and updated all the details on time. We are excited to see our new investment home.....

Our sales consultant was very easy to work with and a very nice person, they made the decision to build with JG King an easy one. She spent a lot of time working with us on what we wanted and was a huge help with any of our enquiries or concerns. The process so far has been pretty straight forward, regardless of the wait with the 3-phase power application which was not in JG King's control anyway. Once build began they have been very good with communication, keeping us up to date with weekly construction update emails. So far the site supervisor has been friendly and helpful. We are hoping that the rest of the build continues to meet our expectations, the base is done and frame should be up this week.

We had a wonderful Site Supervisor [name removed] throughout the build he was very helpful and always kept to a tight schedule . He went over eveything to make sure our home was perfect when we got it. Was only a couple things that needed to be fixed before handover and was fixed within a timely matter. We built roughly a 27 square home in the time frame of less than 3 months and handover a couple weeks after. The final cost was exactly what it was when we started the build to the end .
Brilliant Value for Money for our 5 bedroom house for under $245,000 .

We built our first family home, just a basic 16sq 4 bedroom 2 living area home, added a bunch of upgrades but still not an extravagant house. Took 10 months to complete! Had little contact from the site supervisor, was constantly chasing him up to get progress updates. Dodgy carpentry work, was even told by the site supervisor ‘they did your house and will not be used by us again’. Moved in and had splits amongst all the joins in architraves etc. our house sat waiting for a painter for 2 months before we actually got a family member to take on the contract. Delays from the carpet company and the concrete. We also had a burst pipe from when the site clean up was done, no one bothered to tell us, again we got a family member who was a plumber to fix this problem for us. We also had a leak in the roof that sat unattended to for 3 months, dripping down and causing wet patches to the plaster and skirting boards. Finally we reached our walk through one week prior to our move in date to notice the front door was damaged. The site supervisor said he hopes he doesn’t have to replace that door (quite clearly it needed to be). I went into JG King traralgon to express my concerns where they told me they would inspect the door. This never happened and the day before we were set to get the keys we viewed the door to see they had just glued the broken bits. Told them it wasn’t good enough so couldn’t not get our keys the next day as it took 2 weeks for the new door to come in. We moved in with the damaged door because we could not stay in our rental for any longer. As the new door was installed, the carpenter dropped it and damaged our floors, did not even tell us. So then we had to chase up the flooring being replaced. We also waited months to get that new door stained and only got it done because we paid our family member to come back and stain it for us. We have since had our maintenance check and listed 2 full pages of faults, of which we are still waiting on to be completed, 8 months after giving JG King the list of issues. We have a whole frame in our house that has been put on backwards which they refuse to do anything about. we Contact them and are told they don’t receive our emails. There is probably plenty I have forgotten, so long story short, stay away from JG King as they will constantly disappoint you

We moved into out new home in June 2018. The build took 11 months - 4 months longer than we were originally told. [name removed] (sales manager) made it very easy in the beginning to choose our floor plan. He organised for us to see other homes to enable us to visualise what ours would look like, we were so excited. After he nailed us down and received our $1500 deposit - we never heard from him again. I tried contacting him to find out what the next steps were - NOTHING! We were then assigned a site supervisor, [name removed]. Again super helpful, I wish he stayed on with us. Mid-build, site supervisor changed. [name removed] came on and didn't really seem to know how to answer any questions we had. Not once were we offered a walk through - the only ones we had were when we requested. Fast forward multiple issues and lies, we FINALLY moved into our new home. At our 3 month maintenance review (which didn't take place until 6months +) [name removed] arrived, again promising the world. 3 visits later, sanded and half painted walls, missing silicon and cracked tiles - [name removed] was no where to be seen. After multiple failed attempts to contact him, I called JG King directly and was told that [name removed] was no longer with the company - That would have been nice to know! A couple more months pass and [name removed] arrives to complete maintenance. [name removed] not only smashed light globes out of their sockets, he broke my candles and shattered my shower screen through working heavy handed. This was in September 2019. Since then, (it was now December 2019) I haven't had arches on my toilet door frame, no shower screen, half painted walls, a hole in the grout on the shoer floor and still no silicon on my splashback that was due to be replaced BEFORE we moved in (because throughout the build they forgot to cut a hole for a powerpoint so we needed a replacement splashback.)
JG King Shepparton have terrible communication skills, low skill level and terrible business management skills. A time that was suppose to be the most exciting in my life was ruined by their incompetence.
