DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! sold me an outdoor sofa set. It was flat packed in the box. Got home and got it out there was 3 items missing the main part of the sofa and 2 other parts!!! £130 and a trip to the tip down the drain can’t even use any of it!!! Should have been sold as parts not a ‘sofa set’ DISGUSTING

Bought a games bundle and when it arrived one was missing. Was accused of lying when I called them and told our staff packed it so it was there. Also been sold goods as new and sealed and they’ve arrived open or damaged. Avoid!

Most of the time items do not work, total rubbish most of the time. Most of the time items do not work. Now that the phone lines are also not maned due to covid 19 they have a chat line. DO NOT believe for a minute that this is any better. this is just to safeguard themselves as you are not allowed to see the items prior to biding. All just for show and legal purposes. If you are unfortunate to fall victim of wining a bid that looked legit on the photo and description and find out when receiving the item is total rubbish, you are in for a surprise as they have restrict order to dispute this with any excuse with a massage " sorry that we can not help you " and leave you on your own. So be very afraid when you deal with these people.

I think it should be zero stars. Absolutely terrible service. They said my items had to be sent. Dpd never received them. I finally got through to a web chat who rescheduled the delivery. Nothing turned up. Eventually I got through to Rupert. Who told me they have lost the goods. I asked for a refund. They said no! They will replace. And now I’ve not heard anything at all. It has now been two months. Do not buy from this company. ☹️ No apology nothing.

Have bought from JP many times in the past and on most occasions have been happy with the lots I've won. However, the first time I won a couple of lots which were being sent via DPD things have gone wrong. Only 1 item was delivered which was part of 1 lot. DPD asked me to contact JP and ask them to raise an investigation with them. I have been lied to twice as DPD confirmed they'd had no contact from JP to start any investigation. Finally after numerous emails they agreed to a refund of one lot but not the other as they say they don't do partial refunds. They will send me a replacement. Guess what, no refund exerted and no replacement sent despite similar items being sold in the auctions. It's not as though I'm asking for hundreds of pounds. Customer service has been one of the worse I've ever encountered. No complaints process in place. Basically they don't care.....

Horrendous customer service. Terrible staff, spent a fortune and 4 weeks later they tell me they have lost my items and that I have to wait. Nobody knows anything. No phones available and no emails responded to. this is beyond. i have asked for refund but email back saying that finding my items is in progress. 4 weeks already and over 40 emails. Please stay awasy. This is a scam.

in one year spent there more than £2000 it was not bad before my last purchase... i understand, they are selling returns, damaged or another mostly second hand items, so i never expected shiny brand new item... last purchase was tragedy...it was home gym equipment...olympic bar, weights and multy gym first at all, in show room tried give me wrong bar. they told me my was accedently collected by another customer...After i did not agree to colect wron one, they finde exactly the same i needed, it took about one hour... another story weights, they were described on auction like rubberized,,,were more than 10 boxes of them, all factory packed...i opened them only at home.Surprise! the are not rubberizes, just iron cast... the worst happened with home multy gym...again,boxes factory sealed, new. but, was print on the boxes: box 1of3, 2of3...and 3rd box is missing why they did not write in lot description : set not full, missing parts... etc? i wrote them emai with this question...answer wa- it my responsobility to check before bidding. and now it just my problem... no answers to atother emails i wrote .... JOHN PYE.....people be carefull with them...they are good to take money from , after no help, no customer service at all...

VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY UNREASONABLE. THEY NEED TRAINING ON HOW NOT TO BE AN IDIOT. They are never in the wrong and so will never apologise no matter how obvious their mistake is. They charged me £25 storage fine after agreeing that I collect my goods three days later. They left office earlier than stated in the email they sent me and made me travel a long journey only to go back without my goods.

Seen advertised a few times, thought as during covid would see if we could get sone products cheap. Big mistake. Won a morphy richards prepstar blender, item arrived boxed well and looked clean. Then trying to operate it and of course the motor doesn't work and a few attachments are broken. So paid (with added vat and buyers commission) about £20 less than rrp for a useless item. Avoid them like covid or the plague. Surely trading standards should investigate and they should quote that item doesn't work.

Have you ever had an interaction with a company where you come away flabbergasted at how they have a business? Where you wonder who is it that is ever using the company for more than one transaction? That is my experience with John Pye. I got the auction bug and started bidding on stuff, half of which I wanted, half I thought I could resell for a profit on eBay. Of course, it states clearly that the items are returns/seized etc. So you are buying with some risk in mind. What I didn't expect was that the VAST MAJORITY of electrical items I bought would be faulty. In fact, out of almost £2,000 spent and around 40 items I literally only have a handful of items that aren't faulty. But that is not the worst part. The worst part was that several of the items I bought just didn't turn up. In one instance it was just missing from the delivery and in the other two boxes arrived empty. Like, literally empty.. I contacted John Pye and, of course, getting in touch with them is extremely difficult. Despite putting an email address of their website it isn't monitored. You'll just get an automated reply saying to fill in a form. Upon informing John Pye of the missing items I was offered a replacement. This wouldn't be so bad if it was a like for like replacement. However, the £180 4k Webcam that came in an empty box was offered to be replaced by one that costs £40 on Amazon, likewise the £50 missing mouse was offered a replacement of a £10 mouse. I opted for a refund, but of course, nothing happened. Keep in mind at by this point we are already weeks into a process of trying to resolve the issue, the person who offered the refund didn't keep to his word of emailing me the offer and it took another few weeks to get the refund to my bank after several stupid excuses, such as the bank details being wrong (they weren't) and it needing to be sent to 'head office' to process where they only process refunds twice a week. My favourite excuse was that I hadn't given my middle name and therefore the payment had failed (complete nonsense). The other item (from a different location) that didn't turn went through a whole saga of apparently checking camera footage to see what happened to the item. At the time I thought this was a good thing. It would show that my item wasn't packaged with the other items. Of course, now I know this was just part of John Pye's classic stalling technique. Maybe other customers give up? So, if you are looking at John Pye's auctions and fancying some of the items for yourself or to resell my advice is do not touch them with a bargepole.. I tried to sell some of the items I thought weren't faulty on eBay only to get refund requests as they did turn out to be faulty or missing parts. Avoid!

Well I thought I’d been lucky, purchased 2 items, ga ing chair and bed frame, all parts there, then my luck ran out. I then purchased a coffee machine, for the item, lever where you choose hot or cold water was broken and electrics exposed. Emailed them, they did reply, saying tough luck, should have examined before purchase. Couldn’t as they weren’t accepting viewing, and the item was in a box in their picture, so couldn’t see the actual machine. I’ve reported them to trading standards. I only lost £21, feel sorry for those that spent a lot more. AVOID AVOID AVOID, just selling tat.

Delivery robbery , stay alert! I wouldn't say this is a bad company as I have purchased so many items from them for over last two years. They always has been honest with description of the condition items I was looking for. You need to remember THIS IS NOT A SHOP and all of the item are likely to be an ex display, used or returns as damaged or unwanted, which my opinion is fair. If you unhappy from what you see simply don't bid, If you are not sure ask the question. However the latest changes to the terms of collections / delivery of purchased goods are nothing else but robbery. Please note that on the main page the clearly show a split of delivery cost due to weight of the item and winning bid price, in short you can presume that anything under 30kg and being larger then 50x50x50 cm is qualified as parcel. The white goods and bigger stuff, fair enough will end up on the pallet. But this is not what they do. I recently bought two small items (a NEFF decor strip x2) which is packed into box size of kitchen foil and large pan for the total of £92.00 What a surprise was waiting me on the invoice. A £79.20 ! for delivery of these 3 small items. YES I've been charged for a one full pallet delivery! Imagine that! Now obviously I get in touch with customer service and with their social media representative and has been told this is what it is. The charm of helpful staff quickly despaired and sour taste of trying to be ripped off stays with me. So be careful, not only for what you biding on but also on the price of the delivery it can really ruin your purchase.

BEWARE I would like to go lower than 1 star but cant. They describe an item incorrectly take your money and then refuse to do anything saying that its the buyers responsibility to check. All they say is that they are an auction house not a retail shop and that its your job to check the description is correct.

These cowboys will sell you items with the most basic parts missing. The extent of their involvement seeming to be to see if an item powers on or not, not whether any human can actually make use of it. They also turn up with what looks like severe transport damage or at least damage that wasn't shown in pictures/description on their website (so good luck proving that) if they were on ebay they would have been removed for all the negative feedback and item not as described. All of the above while charging a 22%premium on every item bid... wow just wow! I wont make the same mistake twice and hopefully this will save some other people.

I've had several items from John Pye auctions recently and, apart from two lots*, all worked well. Recently I've had: two Waterpick tooth flosses, a Dyson Pure Cool Me, three lovely handbags. Two fab coats* and a sofa*, a pair of Samsung Bud+ wireless buds. Of the lots that went wrong: A coat was delivered that was not the lot I won. I contacted the auction house and they were very apologetic. They found the correct lot and we swapped the coats over. I was given the choice of a handful of lovely handbags as an apology for the inconvenience. The second lot to go wrong was an expensive mistake on my part. I bid on a sofa in South Wales where I understood they delivered... wrong... completely my mistake!! I had to organise the collection which cost a lot and when the sofa turned up at my home, the sofa was damaged. As I couldn't see the sofa it could have been damaged in transit back to Sheffield. Either way - a lesson well learned by myself. My colleague also has had several items including a gas pizza oven that he has used every weekend since. He had some items go missing via the courier and, after a couple of weeks, his money was refunded with no argument. If you shop carefully then I would recommend them highly.

I bought five ironing boards all well packed in original packaging and all are faulty. I also bought lava lamps all with broken bulbs and again they were all packed and sealed in original packaging, only to find out that they were faulty when i opened them. A complete and utter waste of money and all the items were totally useless. I do not know how this company gets away with selling such complete rubbish. Stay away from John Pye Edinburgh.

I Took John Pye To Court John Pye Auction commencing Monday 7th of October I viewed an item through their website, the item being an Arlo 5 camera security system, the box was sealed and the packaging stated it was a 5 camera system. As I was not able to get to the auction I phoned the office at JP and asked some questions re the item, IE was it a 5 camera system in the box, I was told yes. cutting a long story short I bid and won at £240, went to pay and collect on the 10th October. while in the sale room I opened the box, surprise surprise there was only 1 camera in the box. I asked to speak to a manager, a middle aged Lady, HER FIRST INITIAL IS J, came over, I explained the situation, after convo back and forth she said that the person I spoke to never said anything of the sort, I again assured her I did have that convo and if he had have given me any cause for CONCERN AS TO WHAT I WAS BIDDING ON I would not have bid. HeR attitude was arrogant, dismissive and condescending, she blankey refused to consider any resolution. I told her that I would take John Pye to the smalls claim court, smirked, saying 'You cant take us to court, we are an auction business, Have a lovely day sir, goodbye. I left the site, went straight home and completed the process on line and submitted a court claim for £240 plus expenses the very same day. The courts notified JP instantly of the claim via email as soon as I pressed the proceed button claim no 099MC005. On the Monday I received a phone call from a manager at John Pye who was very apologetic (YEAH NOW IM TAKING YOUR ASSES TO COURT) and informed me they wanted to give me a complete refund including my expenses, I asked her was this change of heart and attitude due to the fact they had received the summons from the court, she said it was. I received the next day. They have managed to stop me writing a review on their official site, as they know that this information is going to open them up to more claims against them. John Pye treats its customers with contempt and arrogance and do not conduct themselves in a honest way. They do not operate in an open and honest manner, they do not have an open box policy, the stop you from opening boxes to check what you think you are bidding on is actually in the box. Expect to buy faulty, damaged or missing goods, open boxes no matter what and check whats inside. plug in electrical items and check they work. The moral of this story is, if you ripped off by John Pye, TAKE THEM TO COURT itS a simple and easy process and takes 5 minutes on the internet, it cost £25 and if your claim is just and correct they'll settle out of court. DONT LET THIS COMPANY CONTINUE TO OPERATE IN THIS WAY. if anyone can copy and paste this and put it on JP official review page that would be great, they have banned me
