What could have been a most traumatic experience was taken care of by Damien Ryan and his team of Removalists. They packed up a 36 square home on Friday in Mccrae and moved it effortlessly on Monday to Parkdale. They arrived on time, were very cheery (obviously enjoyed their work) and most accommodating to this downsizing due to the loss of my husband. I can highly recommend them to anyone wanting a reliable removalist company. Their efficiency and reliability were exceptional.

We moved from a large (10 room) family home to a smaller one 100 km away. The move itself was staged over 3 days: day 1 packing of delicate items; day 2 clearing of house to overnight storage; day 3 delivery to new home following settlement. We packed the remainder of items ourselves. All was done on time and was extremely smooth & professional

I've used the company for two moves (one organised by work, and the latest paid for by me.) I've been very happy with the move both times.
There were some issues with head office, but they addressed my concerns today so I have updated the review to four stars.
I will use this company again next time, and expect to upgrade back to five stars which is more reflective of their normally great service. It's only because of the time taken to resolve the issues that this isn't a five star review now - the service itself was five stars.

We had to move the contents of a four bedroom house over the Easter break, necessitating trucks being organised before and after Easter. Pick up occured right on time both days and the guys were very helpful and considerate of our property. Everything arrived without damage and was placed exactly where we wanted it. Would use John Ryan again.

This is the second time we have used John Ryan Removals and have nothing but praise for them, everything went smoothly and the team of David, Josh and Graham were fantastic. Would highly recommended them.

We had decided to put everything into storage for several years, to travel around Australia in our caravan. John Ryan Removals’ quote for the uplift, storage, and insurance was very competitive, so we engaged them to pack up our house in Melbourne at the end of 2014. Donna and Mark did the pre-pack, then Van and Shaun carried out the uplift. All were friendly, efficient, and very careful with our things, and gave us helpful tips and information throughout the process. A few months later, we had to get an item out of storage, and the John Ryan team was again very helpful and quick to find the particular item we needed. At the beginning of 2018, we finally decided to settle down again, this time in East Gippsland. The John Ryan Removals’ truck arrived within half an hour of the expected time (no mean feat given the distance the truck had to travel that morning, and all of the roadworks currently going on between Melbourne and Bairnsdale). Liam was in charge of the delivery, and proved to be equally as friendly, efficient, and careful as the team doing the uplift. Everything was in the same condition as it was before going into storage, and the fridge, mattresses and TV (especially) had not suffered at all from three years in storage. We were very happy with the service provided by the whole team (including Mark and Helen, the relocations consultants, and Elizabeth, in the accounts department), from start to finish, and would be happy to use John Ryan Removals again.

My move from Melbourne (3 bedroom townhouse) to the Gold Coast was beautifully managed by John Ryan Removals. Mark quoted and patiently answered all my questions; their packers were experienced and worked industriously to pack my contents; the following day, 4 guys loaded the container; my contents were stored in the same container for 2 weeks then delivered on schedule to my new home in Qld. It was a seamless process leaving me very happy with the service provided by John Ryan Removals.

Moved house, two stories, four bedrooms. We had lots of china, crystal - all packed and moved without breakage. The move was over two days. First day packing, second day moving. Removalists were on time both picking up and delivering. All men were courteous and respectful. I was very happy with the company and highly recommend them.

We have relocated from a large 4 bedroomed home on a hilly block, steep driveway in South East Melbourne to a smaller home , again with a steep driveway in regional Victoria. We have nothing but high praise for the move from the initial salesman who measured up and prepared the quote to the wonderful 3 guys who packed up our truck on a cold Thursday and the lovely 2 young men who unpacked our prized belongings into our new home the next day. All happy in their work, with great work ethic and respect between the members of each team. A very professional company from start to finish. would highly recommend.

I recently moved my large 4 Bedroom Home (before down-sizing) to a 3 Bedroom Home with John Ryan Removals. From the initial contact I found the Service compared to the 3 other companies I contacted to be nothing but professional and very understanding in regards to the predicament of the move from a large Home with a very STEEP driveway to a rather smaller Home. The Team arrived on time and worked flat out all day and at all times were professional, helpful and "Basically Fun". The Whole move was done in a stress free manner and certain items were moved that I didn't expect them to move but "Well, there is a small space on the truck that needs filling" always seems to be the answer.. I really wish to thank the team, and would certainly have John Ryan Removals and especially "my' Team move me again anytime... though next I promise to down-size prior to moving..

I moved interstate from QLD to VIC & used John Ryan Removals for the MEL end delivering my goods to my new 1 bedroom apartment. I was so impressed with the customer service provided by Helen in the office, but even more so with the two removalist Josh and Jarred who came to my place. Their professionalism and care with my furniture was five star and above that they were really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend John Ryan Removals to anyone who is looking to move locally or interstate! Large 3 bedroom house, antique furniture, lots of artwork, lots of breakables, our money well spent with Ryan employee Mark Rainbird packing all the art work and fragile items, then 2 very polite and pleasant young men (Graham & Nathan ) arrived as scheduled on uplift day, followed by Andrew guiding his huge semi under low hanging branches. Uplift operated like a well oiled machine with good energy and communication between us and the Ryan team. All loaded by early afternoon, all delivered to country Vic at 8am next morning by Andy and young Graham. Unload was another smooth John Ryan operation. People make great businesses, from Mark Sikora on day one , Helen Marshall's communication, Mark Rainbirds packing skills, young Nathan and Graham's politeness and energy and Andrew Temby's skill and calm reassurance, we couldn't have had a better moving experience.

Move was from 5 bedroom house to 5 bedroom house with some rather heavyweight antique furniture.
John Ryan Removals did all packing, 4 fully packed 20 foot container. Stored for 5 months before moving into new house, short distance. No damage. All done perfectly on time.

House lived in for more than 30 years! 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, with outdoor patio & carport/garage. Professionalism of removalists was outstanding. Couldn't rate them any higher. Moving from place our family have lived in for so many years, to the country.

We were moving from Melbourne to Queensland with our goods in storage for six months or so while we searched for a new home. Our goods which included large as well as fragile items were picked up on time and delivered on time in perfect condition. Items such as the tv and pictures were well packed. Staff were very helpful throughout and the whole process was far easier than expected. On the basis of our experience we would have no hesitation in recommending John Ryan Removals.

This is our third move with Ryan over the last 15 years or so - one international and two metro Melbourne. For the two metro moves the goods had to go into storage for a month or so (in both cases therefore left in the containers used for the uplift). Rep came out to assess the size of the move, estimate boxes and material required, and then emailed through quote. As requested they delivered boxes and material several weeks before the move to allow us to start packing in good time (and would have delivered more if we ran out), and then on the day prior to uplift a couple of very efficient guys came and packed all the breakables. The day of uplift went very smoothly - never ceases to amaze at how well the person loading into the containers selects the items he want in what order. Every box and individual items (garden equip etc) individually numbered and recorded, and all packed and gone before lunch. Similarly for delivery 5 or so weeks later, arrived before 8am, finished before lunch - same 2 containers arrive, every item number called out and checked off, everything placed where requested, wrapping taken off the furniture, beds set up. Nothing missing and nothing broken. Highly recommended.

We had a two story three bedroom house in Melbourne and moved 350 Km's to Port Fairy, the process from Ryans was excellent, from home visit quotation, communication up to day of move, and team of guys moving goods was just tops.....you wont pick a more friendly, strait talking team than this.....

We have been living in our 3 bedroom house for the past 34 years.
So for us it was a big challenge to get our belongings from Mont Albert to Ballarat
They began on time as stated packed our house lot and delivered at the stated time in Ballarat. We have now unpacked all the cartons and no damage

I moved from Melbourne to the UK with my household goods, furniture and car in a 40 FT container. Everything went well while dealing with the sales consultant. But then...oh dear....the container packer was "gung-ho" I watched as two items fell from stacking with a crash to the floor. He just said. "Oh they'll be alright." We had damage to a picture frame, the car was scratched and a mattress was torn. I had wrapped our pictures in bubble pack, all except one, before they were to be placed in picture boxes. The packer dropped the unwrapped one in a box with no padding - that one got damaged. I sent a report and photographs immediately for my insurance claim to John Ryan. After much chasing and threats to go to the ACCC and Dept. of Fair Trading they contacted me to ask for photos? Clearly they had lost the first ones. It was two months before the insurance company received the claim. This was actioned quickly by Zurich Ins. But Ryans had to pay an excess, so it dragged on yet again. Once more there was no action until the mention of going to the authorities. It took five months from start to finish with many of my emails going ignored. So apart from being sloppy, uncaring and unprofessional I add "rudeness." I would never go near these guys again.
