It was such a stress free build with my site supervisor Steve. He was so spot on with the estimate on times throughout the build. I would recommend Long Island Homes to anyone looking to build. Theary from customer support at head office was also fantastic, she did everything to accommodate my wishes.
I can't speak highly enough about this company.

Very well managed build with clear communication from the customer service person (Theary) and building supervisor (Gabor). Great finishes, perfect timing and kept within budget. I would definitely recommend Long Island Homes.

I took over my investment property on 5th March 2020 satisfactory completed by Long Island Homes. Since the selection of an appropriate layout to match my land size making use of available space till completion my construction journey was smooth. I want to congratulate all staff of LIH who engaged to this project, especially Joe Raso who was the construction supervisor, for all his effort put in various stages of construction ensuring the house is built in line with the layout and specification. Joe was punctually attending all site meetings and inspections on time, and understand what I want. While taking over there were a few minor defects, some of them were rectified quickly and few others were agreed to be attended after the 3-months maintenance period. During construction, Joe was explaining all completed jobs clearly and when would the future works be done, giving me tentative timing for completion. The entire house was built in 7 months (Aug 2019 till Feb 2020). I recommend anyone who intends to build their first home or investment property to get in touch with LIH, and you will be lucky if Joe would be your construction supervisor. Because of the way the house was built with the quality and finish, I was able to lease it within 6 days from taking-over, yes from 11th March 2020 onwards without losing much time even during this Covit-19 outbreak.

Hi have finished our build and could not be happier.we had a few things that needed attention but we're fix in no time.We would like to thank [Names Removed] the three of them went above and beyond for us and we really appreciate it. Long Island are very lucky to have them so every thing runs smooth.l wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Our supervisor was exceptional in keeping us up to date with what was going on Thank you for our beautiful home.

We had a lot of issues with getting town planning permits for building 4 bed room house on a land size of 288 sqm. Aidan from Long Island Homes came to our rescue and batted for us as if it was his own house. LIH got approvals sorted for 4 bed room house instead of 3 bedroom house. The great service continued with site supervisor Nik who maintained high standard of built. Long Island Homes were very approachable throughout the construction process. Turn around time was within the prescribed time in spite of some utility connection issues which was not LIH's fault. Overall, I could not be happier with the outcome. LIH constructed a beautiful house which was not a stock standard affair that other builders prefer. Thank you Craig and Team ! Cheers

Went though a 3 month phase of choosing builders and picked LIH due to price and they had no issue with installing non standard inclusion. Some of these included PVC double glazed windows and sliding doors, closed coupled solar hot water system and rain water tank supplying toilets and laundry. They also had no issue with us organising the installation of solar panels during the building phase. Our build was not an easy one due to being a total custom build on a block with a deep easement. The finish product overall was good quality and a reasonable price.
Build anything, Excellent job, nice people.
Slow and sometimes lack communication.

We just completed building our house with LIH and I can’t thank enough all the people who were involved in the process, Raj (sales consultant), Monique (colour), Anisa, Kassy and Michelle (admin). Ninos our site supervisor was a pleasure to deal. He managed the build process very well and handled all our queries very professionally. There were minor issues during the build which was addressed very promptly by LIH. We really liked the house designs of LIH and the flexibility on making changes to the plan. Also Dave (construction manager) who tidied up few things in the end was really helpful. I made a lot of changes and really appreciate the fact that most of it if not all were accepted. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of building to consider LIH as an option. Looking forward to positive experience post construction as well.

If you want a company that continuously disappoints and takes 11 months to build, then choose LIH.
Communication is absolutely disgusting. Make a call to the desk for someone and it either cuts out or they're incredibly rude. If you get through to who you want, they're always in a meeting and don't get back to you for days. Best one was when i called and asked if the particular person was in, yes they were at their desk but suddenly when i said what build it was they became busy.
We also had huge delays. Various reasons too. We went through three site supervises because they all quit or got ill. Each change cost two weeks apparently for the new guy to get up to speed.
Then LIH had no idea how to build a home needing a septic tank. The delay at the end was ridiculous.
Towards the end of the build i was coordinating trades to finish off because they did nothing.

Recently natural gas to our area and it was discovered that the ducted unit in our roof, ordered by lih, was the wrong one despite us clearly instructing them we needed one that converted lpg to natural. The month long saga and passing of blame to their supplier was terrible. 3 weeks on and i still havent been called despite constantly being told I'll hear back. $4200 it will now cost me to fix their mistake. We were very clear at planning stage about it and then the contract mentioned conversion but LIH worked it was as if it was a natural to lpg conversion. Not what we asked.

We've been in 12 months and I'm still finding screws in our yard. The site the whole build was a tip site. How OHS could approve i have no idea.
Since moving in weve had leaking wall, holes in our roof, loose roof sheeting, and discovered sone pretty ordinary angles in our walls.
I could go on but you get the idea. We got a dud build and because of it we'll never building again. Not worth the stress. Our biggest financial commitment and they couldn't care less. Don't think they would want to be treated like that if they built.

Our first contact with LIH was Norman, a member of the sales team. Norm was extremely friendly and helpful in suggesting homes that might meet our requirements and advising us where we might see them on display. Having settled on the "Vale" he capable guided us through the planning and modifications we needed to provide our desired layout. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
We chose not to use a LIH facade which created a number of headaches both in drafting and costing but once these issues were resolved, the final result was very close to our vision.
Our building supervisor, Goby, was very approachable and really good to work with. He kept a very close eye on the work and encouraged us to do likewise. Goby was willing to frequently meet us on site. Very little slipped by him. He happily rectified items picked up by our independent inspector. The inspector commented more than once to us how good the build quality was.
Theary, our client liaison at head office, kept us informed of progress and promptly replied to our phone calls and emails. She was always polite and tied everything together very nicely for us. She too was a pleasure to deal with.
Our one major disappointment is that the double hanging in the master WIR is useless. There is insufficient space between the rails to be able to use both top and bottom rails. This is an area that LIH should address in future builds.
It is inevitable with any build that you will experience hiccups and delays but fortunately these were minimal.

My wife and I have just (October 2015) received handover of our new Long Island home in Mickleham. Design and build process ran like clockwork. From early input from Crag and his team who explained the plan and specification patiently with ability to customise for our ideas through to an informative weekly update email from Rachael on progress and what works were programmed for the forthcoming week. We were kept informed and always felt we could contact a person at Long Island who would speak to us if we had any queries or issues. Our home's building supervisor was Frank who had no arguments or push back for us when we pointed out some fairly minor paint touch ups and clean ups to be attended to, etc. when we did the pre purchase inspections. We are pretty pedantic! Having an independent Building Inspector supplied by Long Island Home from Jim's Building Inspections was also a bit more of a comfort for us knowing there was someone independent we could check building standards with. He gave us quite a detailed report prior to handover and the job finished earlier than expected! This is our second investment property we have built with Long Island. We still own both and have had no building maintenance concerns with our tenants. Highly recommend the Long Island team!

It is just 3 months to move in my new house in point cook. I got many experiences with the builder, and would like to share to everyone. I built my frist dream house at PC. The consultant always celebrate me as i got frist house. They told i will move in my house in next 6 months. So, i beleive my house will complete before Christmast. I invited my parents who are living oversea to visit australia at December. however, my plan was broken. My house did not finish at that month. My parent left Melbourne, and my house still building. They finish after 3 months. The builder did not charge for building inspector. I was happy because I can save money on it. However, the inspector had not done good jobs. He missed many mistake of traddie, so effected on house quality.

Circus on wheels

Hi We started our build 18 months ago, from day one of signing contracts, the sales rep was terrible, the amount lies and deceit that come from the offices down through to the supervisor on site, even the owner, all they want is your, we used building inspector, the best money we ever spent. It was a eye open, major defects.
Bricks ties werent tied in,
- every window and frames had to be replaced, 180 broken tiles, the has been lifted 4 times.
- court yard sliding door had to be replaced
- Capping and box gutters were all replaced, and and need to be replaced again due to traders damaging items
plaster in every room cracked, unfinished plaster, - installation hasnt be installed properly, throughout the house. ten metre gap in the hallway where there is no installation. Installation in wall under the capping had to be replaced due to been wet!! Middle of winter and we find that there was no capping in place. (Muppets )
-Damage to front door, whole door has to come out, and not square or level
- 3 other doors are to be replaced due to water damage,
- bathroom tiles and bath hasnt been squared up
- supporting wall in garage in the corner- 300mm gap, to try and hide there stuff up they installed a few extra studs,
Over head trusses were out by 100mm
Most of these defects are still there as I right this review the amount of emails we have written to get these items to get fixed.
There are 16 town houses wall to wall, most of them have free the same issues.
The sales rep at the show room, con artist has scammed over $100,000 dollars off young families . And Long Island had the guts to turn round and say we didnt transfer the whole deposit.
We had a agreement made in writing with [name removed] the director of Long Island homes to move our alarm system from the front to the back, it had been installed already a the front, its been four months since we have moved in, they carnt even commit and honour there stuff ups because its going to cost the money to move it.
Work safe were out on site a number of times and shut Long Island down.
Unsafe practices
Breaching there own policies and procedures
No handrails, on the roof
Power leads in water and on the ground
Working at heights
Boundry breaches
Current affair have been given a interview in regards this build
Does this sound like a company that you want to build your house,
Im happy to pass on our independent inspectors report
A number of foreman that ran these jobs like to standover females and young families and demand to plaster up during the build to hide there mistakes, it took a sudden back flip, the surveys issued them penalties notice to start ripping plaster down on all 16 units so he could get to the boundaries to inspect Back fired on the foreman and the company, Brick ties and dpc which wasnt installed correctly.
They will take your money and run, they dont
have any intentions of fixing defects.

Michelle was always very polite, professional and prompt whenever I emailed or called her with any questions.
Mitch, building supervisor was very thorough and gave a very detailed handover.
Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and will certainly consider building

We built our first home through Long Island which took approximately 6-7 months. Building for the first time was a daunting process for us. However, Long Island eased our minds knowing we were being well taken care of. Our client liaison Theary was always in contact with us and updating us on the process. She was always quick to respond whether by email or phone call. Robbie our site supervisor had a great attention to detail as well as always kept us in the loop with the process.

I think what we were most impressed with Long Island was their communication. We had very few hiccups throughout the build and on our walk through day anything that needed to be fixed etc. Robbie had already been in the process of resolving it.

We are now 2 weeks into living in our house and absolutely love it! We had one very minor issue which was resolved very quickly. I’ve been impressed that Theary and the Long Island team have continued to follow up with how we are going despite handover being done and dusted!

Our family's two houses have been completed in Aintree recently by Long Island Homes. Our experience with the Admin staff and the sight Supervisor Mr. Ryan was a positive one. Even we only saw him during inspections but he was very professional and courteous. He explained everything in plain language and faults were fixed in no time. Thank you Ryan for your professional attitude. There was no change to the cost. We did not face any delays and the quality of the work is excellent.

Last Oct 2019, our dream home became a reality. Thanks to Long Island Homes. No major dramas experienced except for the CCTV cable installation but was immediately fixed. No major issues during construction & communications with Michelle, Kassandra & Stevan had been easy. Overall, we are happy with our build in terms of quality & cost that we chose Long Island to build our first investment property which will commence early this year =)
