After all, I went to Quickfit instead, and the difference in their service was tremendous. I will never choose Merityre again.

He fitted it to his bike and you could hear it hissing out
Was reluctant to drive it over as sure as eggs are eggs they would say he had damaged it
Took it off the bike and yet again I took it there
Was told it needed a tube ( if you take a punctured tyre in don't they check that ?? )
Went back to collect and was told they couldn't get a tube so would repair old one
I said I didn't want him driving on a repaired tube so they agreed to order one
That was yet another trip !
It is now at least 3 weeks and still we wait for tube
They say they will ring back but never do
Very unprofessional company
Once this is resolved if ever ! I would not be happy to return to them

he also gave me some good advice and then proceeded to carry out a tyre valve change, this was all done within 25 minutes.
This service was not only excellent but done with a professional attitude, that even at this time of day proves that some companies have good staff that shine whilst doing a small job that to the customer is a problem. Well done to David and thanks

I purchased a brand for the rear and a better, more expensive brand for the front as the tread pattern was better for bad weather. These were advised by the salesman at the branch.
Around October, I went back to my branch to ask them to check a vibration, perhaps a balance weight had come off. They inspected my tires and their most senior specialist took my vehicle for a drive and told me it was my steering rack. I questioned this as I had recently had it MOT tested. It has since been confirmed not to be the rack.(read below)
At the end of November, I suffered, what could only be described as a catastrophic failure to a front tyre.(at motorway speeds) Steel belts blown out and tyre deformed etc!
It turned out that they had fitted tires manufactured 8 years ago, to the front.
The manager admitted that they don't check the date as they rely on tires being sent to be within industry guidelines (approx 3 years old max at many other retailers) also he admitted they were dangerous. I asked for prompt action as I am a tradesman and my vehicle was deemed unsafe to use. Merityre didn’t want to except responsibility and blamed, firstly their supplier (I was even told to give the supplier a call myself) as their supplier denied supplying them the tires at the first instance.
It was extremely serious and trading standards were involved.
Eventually, their remedy was to fit 2 new cheaper tires (without consulting me) and eventually offer me just £50 compensation for my garage bills and 4 days loss of earnings
I, of course contacted Dene Arnold at head office, where I found his attitude unsatisfactory, as many others have.
I would advise anyone who has purchased tires through this company to double check the manufacture dates and if you are using a vehicle for business, be wary of any redress as the head office may not take the matter seriously.

I took my car into a different merit a while later to get the other 2 tyres done and came out with my car with the steering about 20 decrees out from centre and with the front wheels toe'ing out resulting in the inners wearing out, i think they may have sorted payback for the complaint, either way i got a lot a lot of aggro when all was looking for was tyres!, I'll never go back to any merit again as there seems to be a problem there as both times I've been I've had problems

We arrived having been made aware it was first come first served. Left the car for over an hour with my contact phone number. On our return our civic was on the ramps with the alignment gear attached but nobody in free to talk to, so left for another half an hour.
My partner returned again they showed him the tracking print out, to which they agreed just to adjust the front tyres and it would be a 15 min wait so he sat and waited in your reception. Then the mechanic came back out to say having slight problem with the track rod and it would be a bit of a wait. After being sat there for two hours without clear explanation of what was going on, to have a sarcastic comment made to him from a staff member behind the reception. "Is yours the civic, you have been sat there a while! Hope you have been saving your money mate", my partner asked what he meant. To be told that his car had been put on an hourly rate. No price given just told it's going to be well over £100.
Not surprisingly my partner was unhappy and asked for an explanation to why it was going to be so much. He was told the track rod has ceased, whilst adjusting the tie rod the mechanic unwound it from the steering rack end by mistake. He said he couldn't give the car back as it was now unsafe to drive, they tried to put it back together.
Before bringing the car to merityre the only thing it needed was the tracking doing and was perfectly safe to drive.
My biggest objection is that no point did anybody phone us to discuss any issues discovered whilst we weren't on the premisses, nor did anyone discuss it in detail about rates with my partner whilst he sat in your reception for 2 hours. The customer services at the Witney branch are appalling.
My partner said he wasn't willing to pay as the car only came in for the tracking, to which he was told he couldn't have his keys back. The rear tyres hadn't even been touched. Not getting anywhere my partner offered to give them £50 and call it a day. After some mediation by a mechanic who had the best customer services skill out of everyone there, we were told to take the keys with no charge but this certain mechanic would never work on my partners car again.
We walked away annoyed but at least we weren't charged a ridiculous price for work that wasn't expected to be carried out.
On driving the car home the tracking feels a lot worse and bordering on dangerous.
I now need to take my car to another garage to get the work rectified merit tyres will not pay for the work, and we're happy to try and charge me for making my car worse after speaking to Arnold from head branch of merit tyres he has not tried to fix this problem so I am now going to have to go to trading standards. I'm just glad I did not take my car there for any complicated work as I would probably be left with a car I cannot drive.

Went in at 12 noon for two tyres, ordered through blackcircles.com (who are excellent by the way)
Told them I was urgently needing to collect my son from nursery at 2.30 (which was a little-white-lie - I needed to collect him from school at 3)
...and could I have a 4 wheel alignment as well please?
The teenager fitting my tyres was more interested in his sandwich. At one point I watched him take a bite of his sandwich.... take a slow walk to my car.... and then take a slow walk back to the sandwich, without even touching the car - he didn't know it was my car, and that I was watching from outside while I was on the phone.
It took over two hours to fit two tyres, and my car was on the ramp the whole time
They put it up on the ramp and took the wheels off, so I couldn't go anywhere.... and left it unattended for nearly half an hour
In the end I only JUST made it to the school at 2 minutes past 3 (good job I gave myself a half hour margin, otherwise my 5 year old would have been unattended)
I went without the 4 wheel alignment - no time.... and they said it WASN'T POSSIBLE to change two headlight bulbs... ON AN AUDI !!!
It's not like I drive something from Communist Russia... or China.
I saved money with blackcircles.... and lost over two hours of my life with Merityre
2 hours that I'm never getting back
I had the other 2 tyres changes recently - I used someone else.
