Our house build was really well managed. Our site manager kept us informed if there were any issues. All were minor and all were fixed. Some he pointed out to us, that we hadn't noticed, which is why we got the outstanding quality and finishes that we did. The final cost was what we expected. Metricon even refunded for some site costs for excavation work that ended up not being used. The build time was around 8 months. There were no hold ups, once it started, It all went so smoothly. Our Site Manager said at the start he would give us a home as close to perfect as he could. That is what he delivered. His attention to detail is exactly what you want when building your home!

Contract and plans process was drawn out for months - in took over 5 months for hydraulic plans alone. By this stage you have paid your deposit and you are already "invested" in the process.
Insufficient and sometimes non-existent communication during the build process and not being notified of agreed and contractually agreed to points for Independent Inspector site visits. Major defects identified by Private Inspector - frame not secured to slab - walls crooked - squeaky floors - mould. A continual battle for follow up and to get a response and rectification. In the end we had to accept that some defects would not be fixed in order to move on and get the keys to our Dual Occ.
At handover I was given a blank / empty thumb drive which is supposed to contain all documents and certificates - followed up for weeks with numerous emails & phone calls - trying to get the documents required to complete strata subdivision - finally lodged a complaint with NSWDFT and the next day I receive the certificate.
Post Settlement Private Inspection noted many faults. Of the many faults- below are the list of only The URGENT defects which were supported by a private builder inspection report - and submitted on March 17th within the 190 days period.
*Cladding Corner moulding to the area above the hot water heater is siliconed at the base and allows rain into the house. Rectify with a permanently weather proof solution.
*Gutter - right side lower roof holding water - must be repaired
*Flashing under cladding above the garage and to the area above the hot water heater is not folded down the wall - it is simply siliconed at the lap - will allow water to penetrate - must be swapped out for correctly folded colorbond flashing
*Access to manhole in roof is blocked by air con / services . Not possible to access the ceiling space. Either the manhole or the aircon must be moved.
*Floating floor board has separated 2mm in front of the laundry - allowing water under the floor. Area to be resealed
I chased for over 6 weeks for someone to come on site - since the sight visit by a service rep I have chased for almost two weeks to get a response from Metricon regarding the findings of their Service and Warranty rep and the plan for rectification.
Please beware that Metricon is a company can take your money ( over $800K ) and then simply ignore emails relating to their own quality and poor workmanship.
In my experience Metricon have a total disregard for both quality and customer service.
If you plan to build a Metricon DUAL OCC for investment purposes please know that this is a potential outcome - and calculate if this is an acceptable risk for your investment. There are other options / other builders and I recommend you proceed with extreme caution.

While I am in the pre-construction phase, the process has been easy and straightforward, from my initial consultation to my studio M visit nothing has been too hard.

Our project was well managed. Good workmanship, good quality. The Site Manager communicated with us excellently. He enthusiastically contacted us and met us in the new house at every stage. He explained the status of the building progress and the new house in very details, answered our questions very well and solved our problems and requests very well. Well done! Thank you!
After we signed the contract, we had made several variations to make the house better. Although the final cost is more than our estimated by 15% approx., we feel that it is worthy.

As can be expected with any build there maybe some minor defects to be rectified. My previous experience with another builder was very poor non existent after sales service. I was so impressed with Metricon's after sales service to rectify my issue even after 2 yrs. Again they provided me with top quality tradesmen such the outcome of the fix was perfect.
Well done Metricon team! I would love to have the opportunity to build with Metricon again one day when we downsize.

We were very pleased with [name removed] as our site manager.
There were never any issues that he was unable to solve and he worked tirelessly with many extra hours.
[name removed] is extremely easy to work with and we would highly recommend him for any future work and be happy to work with him again in the future should need arise.

Metricon delivered excellent customer service to build the house. From sales to construction, there's always a key staff taking responsibility at different stage and I have been kept informed all the time. Because of their quick response and honest advice , a lot of misunderstandings were avoided.
Metricon is flexible. This was our first build and we were refused to build a double story house by a few builder because our land is not big enough, until we met Metricon. More importantly, I'm satisfied with the quality of the house.
Site manager [name removed] was efficient and reliable. From the stage of site works to handover, he would inform us in advance and explain each progress. During the construction, I visited the site myself sometimes and sent him pictures about building defects. For example, cracked tiles, missing cap, etc. He would always respond me quickly and take action on the issue. Another example is that my house was built faster than my neighbours'. I remember when my house just entered base stage, my neighbour's frame stage was nearly finished. It has been two weeks since [name removed] handed over the house to me, it's still under construction.

We are extremely pleased with the Metricon final product. It was a seamless and stress-free experience, there were no surprises, and the quality of finish is excellent.
[name removed] was absolutely amazing. He was highly responsive to all our calls and needs, managed every aspect of the build efficiently and seamlessly, and has delivered a very high quality product. He has been 100% reliable in terms of meeting times and doing what he said he would do, and was both easy and pleasant to deal with.
I would recommend Metricon and [name removed] happily.

Initially progress was very slow. However, once the construction began things moved very smoothly. My Site Manager [Name Removed] is professional, knowledgeable and very responsible. He would make great efforts to meet his customer's requests. I can't thank him enough for all his help through out the construction process.
One of the things I learnt from this experience is that I should have done more research before selecting
interior products. Also I should be more careful in checking all the documents.
On the whole, I am happy with Metricon's build of my two beautiful town houses.

When we first decided to build a house in Lennox Head [name removed] helped us select a suitable site by pointing out sites that were to steep or had some other problem that would have increased the site costs considerably. When we found that our site had a large easement that prevented us building the house we had selected [name removed] helped us to make modifications to the plans so that we could still have the house we wanted.
When it came time to visit the Metricon showroom in Robena to make our selections for construction materials, fittings, lighting etc we found that the staff were very helpful often offering advice on colours, materials etc. We are very happy with the outcome of our selections, particularly with the colours we chose and the design of the tiles.
Once the construction of the house commenced we were very happy with the service we received from the site manager [name removed]. He met us on a regular basis as the construction progressed and was very helpful when we had to make minor changes. There were a few outstanding items after handover and [name removed] has regularly followed up all the outstanding items. We think the build was well manged and the house completed within the initial time frame given to us. We think that the workmanship has been excellent.
The final cost was higher than our initial estimate due to some of the appliance selections made by us but also because of higher site costs then originally expected.
All in all it has been a pleasure to have our house built by Metricon. Details of the project are:

We had a wonderful experience building our 1st home ( Metricon Botanica 36 )at Newport QLD . We LOVE our new home and overall we would highly recommend Metricon to any one that is thinking about a New build.

Overall advise: Like any volume builder it comes down to the individual people looking after you. In our case we were blessed to have the right people looking after us from the beginning and as such happy to give a FIVE star rating as of now (Final stage of build for a 41m2 double storey in 5 months). I am comfortable giving this rating as we not first time building a home in Vic and have had different experience with our first build.
We need to break down the review into following categories for a clearer feedback:
Sales [name removed] 5/5
[name removed] has done an awesome job and is passionate about what she does. I would say she is the jewel of Metricon for construction in North and would highly recommend anyone considering building with Metricon to talk to her based in Mickleham. We shopped around numerous builders across various sales office and no one demonstrated actual knowledge of what they selling like [name removed] did. I would hire her if I was to become a builder and needed a good sales representative.
Pre-construction team [name removed] 5/5
[name removed] was very professional in his approach and demonstrated a well organised approach to getting your papers right. Like me if you research a lot and are very clear about what you building then you would request to have [name removed] support you during this stage as he was able to help me with queries and quickly get Studio M quotes, drawings etc rectified asap. Like any big build there a bound to be few mistakes here and there and both [name removed] and I were quick to pick up these and get things sorted within a blink of eye.

Speaking to [name removed] was like he could tell what was in our head and help us out chose the right upgrades. I would say we have almost upgraded everything in the house and as you can imagine it was very difficult choosing when you have a budget. He was also good at picking up drawing errors or narratives and like [name removed] quick to get them sorted.
Have given a lower rating due to the following: didn’t feel the staff really cared about your queries and demonstrated lack of product knowledge. Had to do my own research and drive the conversations myself. Also the product range is not good, in this modern era the Studio M team need a process uplift and adapt to being more agile and provide wider options to customers.
Project execution / construction [name removed] 5/5 (Will update this in few weeks after handover)
[name removed] has demonstrated good planning skills to be able to have the build to a stage where it is in such a quick time. The defects identified during pre-plaster were rectified on time.
Can understand dealing with tradies and getting them to do a job up to Australian standards is tough at times but [name removed] seems to be on top of these guys, looking forward to a good report for pre-handover.
Quality so far good and will be updated after handover.

We would like to thank our site supervisor [name removed] for his professionalism and his attention to detail during the build of our Metro 32 home.
This was the first time we have built a new home and having [name removed] as our site supervisor gave us level of comfort and he had our trust throughout the entire build.
[name removed] gives 110% and treats his builds as if it was his own house. If there was an issue, he would make sure it was fixed/rectified as soon as possible. His daily communication during the building process was very much appreciated as we knew what was happening on site at all times.
We are very grateful that [name removed] was assigned to our build as he made the whole process very enjoyable for us and we are thrilled with our new home.
We would also like to thank the various different customer support & building support co-ordinators we had throughout the build.
