Miles and Barr were great at helping us in the beginning but as things progressed and we put the offer in on the house we had hardly any help from them - they were aware that we were first time buyers and during the first 3 months of the process we only ever had one phone call from Amanda and that was only because it was prompted by me! Since Amanda has gone and Debbie has been in the role, we have been kept much more informed and up to date but unfortunately Debbie was only in the role for the last couple of weeks of the 4 month process so for the months in the middle we were completely lost and had no idea what was supposed to be happening at each stage! There was also a mix up with paperwork in the beginning with the mortgage adviser and after 3 weeks of back and forth between her and our solicitor it was finally sorted! Overall I suppose the house purchase has been successful and we are due to move in next week so I can't complain. But miles and barr definitely did not help with my stress levels throughout this process. I have been mostly disappointed. I made it clear in the beginning we were first time buyers and had no clue what we were doing so would need our 'hands held' during the process which of course didn't happen. Thankfully our solicitor went above and beyond and done miles and barrs job for them and helped us.
Sales team are fantastic though, couldn't fault them! It has been a good decision on miles and barrs part by getting Debbie in who does the customer care part of her job much better than her predecessor.

Jade gave us an excellent service, she was extremely helpful and worked with us right the way through to completion, would thoroughly recommend her services to anyone. Thank you for making a stressful time so much easier

Miles & Barr have been really great, they get back to you when they say they will, explain everything and really do offer extremely good customer service in my comparison with other estate agents.They have made a scary time of being a first time buyer a pleasant one. Special thank you to Matt and Neil. Would also highly recommend the services of Neil.

I had an excellent introduction to the company and what they could offer from Dominic.
It was a very easy process from having the photos taken to them arranging viewings.
Once I found a buyer they negotiated a selling price I was very pleased with.
Everything progressed smoothly and they kept me informed of the sale.

I was not 100% happy with them, at first I did not think they pushed very hard to get viewings for me.
Very dissapointed with the manager as everytime I tried to speak to him he was either out of the office or in a meeting and never came back to me, the only time I saw him was when he came to value my property.
I had problems over a lost sale and the second sale dragged on so long it was very stressful as I am a pensioner and have health issues found the emotional stress to much.
On several occasions the agents were telling me one thing and my solicitor another it was very confusing.
In general the staff were very nice and friendly, I do hope this review will help them to improve for others.

I know for a fact I was lied to on a few occasions, most notably they said an offer had been rejected, that I then found out wasn't even made to the vendor - so if using them, do you own homework and don't rely on them! It must be said that 2 female estate agents there were efficient, friendly and reliable, so I would urge you to deal with them if possible!

I sold my house and bought also recently via M&B. Everything went smoothly well. Communication was good from them. I would recommend them.

Mike Haith is an asset to your company, keeping me well informed throughout - He undoubtedly is put under a lot of pressure by clients at the same time and keeps his cool. Emma Angel worked hard too to secure my mortgage in a timely & professional manor.

I'm rating 5 Stars as I know how important these surveys can be to a business & individuals, however:

My issue has come with a man I met the day I picked up my keys...After around 5 months of going through the chain the big day was finally there where I get to move into my new house and I collect them from a man in your Canterbury office (Didn't catch his name) He was a bit abrupt to me and basically slagged off my solicitor to my face and said 'remember not to use them next time, use someone local' - I've got no outstanding problems with my solicitor, a lot of it was last minute miss-information and any issues where resolved quickly. All down to that my mortgage offer wasn't revisited when I resold.

It was suppose to be a good, exciting day, all the hard work, waiting and anxiety was over but he really took the shine off. There's nothing I could do at this point and he made me feel very awkward and like I'd wasted my money, especially as 2 years ago I used a Herne Bay firm and they were really bad! I don't expect star treatment but from a complete stranger he'd made me feel like I'd done wrong.

Nonetheless, Thankyou if you'e managed to read this far. Hope you find it fair comment and a potential learning curve.

Excellent experience of buying through Miles and Barr, they spent a whole day with us arranging consecutive viewings of 8 properties, then second viewings of those shortlisted , so we knew we were purchasing the best property for us, which we have done.

Hi we had Matthew show us the property and many before he really is a fantastic agent and caters the buyers need whilst remaining professional and approachable truly great face for the company and emma dealt with our mortgage part again helpful always available even when a first time buyer has a 100 and 1 questions, emma has kept us up to date all the way and is very warm and welcoming, making the biggest financial decision feel less daunting and straightforward with all the information and help provided. Both emma and Matthew are a credit to your company and its been a pleasure buying with yourself and them.

Amazing personable care and service from day one, I have been nothing but impressed.

I would go as far to say that Lee Bulford from Broadstairs is the best mortgage adviser that I have ever had the pleasure in dealing with. He was so attentive to my mortgage needs and placed our mortgage with a High Street lender in half the traditional time it would have taken if I had gone direct, he even manged to help with our personal will for a very reasonable fee.

Another massive help was a chap called Jackob who dealt with the after care, liaising with the bank and solicitors to make sure my mortgage offer arrived in a swift fashion. I feel that as nice as these words are you will not fully grasp their professionalism and dedication until you have experienced it for yourself.

Thank you Lee, see you when we next remortgage.

the communication between branch and customer is excellent
in he office whoever you dealt with was good
I didn't give 5 stars because once we accepted an offer and changed contacts the communication was awful
we had to chase for updates on the sale

The service which they have provided was an excellent throughout the all process, specially thanks to Yasmine Moss (mortgage broker ) and Lauren Mayes . Once again many thanks for everything and I will be recommended to everyone.

I felt that the staff at Folkestone branch gave a personal touch to my purchase experience, they were all friendly and helpful, listened to my needs and Lucy exceeded in finding a suitable property.

I was unfortunate to have a purchase fall through, not due to any fault of the agency, however I managed to find another property through Miles & Barr having looked at many, often arranging viewings with Luke who was always punctual, accommodating and professional.

The sales progression was done by Lauren on a weekly basis, I never had to ask for an update and her replies were prompt if I sent an email. When we finally exchanged contracts on our properties, she was the first to give me a personal telephone call which exceeded my expectations and meant a lot.

It was a stressful process, however the service I received from all at Folkestone branch relieved much of this. I would definitely recommend their services with no doubts about using them again in the future. Thank you:)

Lauran Mayes was acting for us during the process and we wanted to highlight the fantastic job she did throughout. First class service from start to finish,we were kept well informed every step of the way.Katie our sales progresser was brilliant ,and when we lost our first buyer, They really were quick to find another buyer and keep the property we were buying ours . I needed to re-mortgage my home following a separation and was recommended Miles and Barr''s mortgage arranger Vicky Crouch. A few friends had used her before and said how helpful and friendly she was and would seem to go that extra mile for you. I must say that everything they said was true above and beyond. Having to do all this on my own I found Vicky very professional but equally sympathetic to my situation which helped me no end. The mortgage was offered very swiftly and the process was smoother than I thought. I would recommend Vicky to anybody who wants a professional and friendly service and someone who just simply cares! Very pleased.
