I used to be able to view the lake maps free on the app on my phone. Then it said I had to pay a one time fee. I paid it and then 2 years later it wants me to buy the yearly subscription for 21 bucks. Will not let me view lakes without purchase. Stupid. On top of that. My lowrance has a navionics card in it and it is not very detailed and some well known lakes around me are not even mapped. Pathetic. Buddy has lakemaster and lakemaster has the map no problem.

I bought a navionics card at a reseller in October and here in March my plotter told me that the subscription needed to be renewed.
I wrote navionics customer service and they resolved the issue instantly and guided me through the process of getting my card up and running again.
Nice to experience a company that takes ownership of it’s products and don’t push you as a customer back to the reseller.

Waaaay back when Navionics was begging for customers I bought a "Lifetime" copy of Boating and Lakes. Probably ten years later I discover that my lifetime ran out as Navionics went to a yearly scheme. Greedy money hungry will never get another penny from me.

I purchased the Canada/USA version at Christmas as I am an avid fisherman and like to try different lakes. I do a lot of ice fishing and thought that this would be ideal for locating holes and proper depths for what I am looking for. The positioning on the app works very well but so far I am not at all convinced as to the accuracy of the depths associated with the contours. On one particular lake I went out an thought that I would be in 10-15 feet of water but in fact I was only in 7 feet. Just down the way a little bit I was told that the guys were fishing in 18 feet of water where it showed less than 10 on the map. This was not the first time that this happened. The first time I used the app my buddy showed me a hump that came up to 8 feet where there was nothing indicating this on the map. We were fishing in 50 feet of water where on the map it indicated should have been 40. Just not too sure where the mapping was obtained for the lakes that I have fished so far.

You cannot buy this product

I tried to purchase navionics+ for UK waters and went all the way throught ordering. The very last tick I had to made was to accept Navionics terms and privacy. BUT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO TICK THIS!!!!!! Wast of time.

Often split up so you have to buy two overlapping maps.

Good product but they delete vital options from map like shallow water making it useless after 12 months and want crazy amount every season if they are not to hold you hostage.

I spent £475 with Navionics to update my cards and convert to SD cards in Feb 2015.

The process of doing this took many days, numerous phone calls and many e mails not to mention chat sessions.

In today's world of plug and play it was unbelievable how painful the process was. After much effort I managed to get the cards to work.

I reported back to Navionics the specifics of where their instructions were ambiguous or misleading or just wrong and detailed where they might be able to improve their instructions. We had a correspondence about this especially with regard to the video instructions which I felt should be removed from the web site completely and replaced with clear written instructions.

I have today been to the web site to update my cards again on the anniversary of the of the previous update.

Firstly the pain continues. Their instructions are just as completely stupid as they were a year ago and in particular they simply do not tell you what to do if your cards have already been registered and there does not appear to be anyway around their assumption that your cards are unregistered.

Having wasted a whole morning trying to make head nor tail of this stupid web site I am told that the cards have expired. This must have been on the date of registration not the date that the updates were completed which was obviously a week or so later.

Am I fed up with Navionics. Yes I am. There is no way that I would wish to enter the update process more than once a year. There is simply not enough time left in my life to bother. So to convert to micro SD cost me £475 and I got no further updates.

They want me to pay another £475 to get my updates.

What a joke. It is simply not viable to do that. I feel completely ripped off.

I thought I’d paid for the best when I purchased a Navionics Platinum card for my Simrad Evo3, but have been completely disappointed with the after sales service.

I paid for the latest updates recently, (which wasn’t cheap) but after updating I lost all my shore maps/google maps, I use my boat/card all the time and asked Navionics to send me a new card, (which would probably cost them less than the price of postage) I said I would post them the faulty card after receiving the replacement, no they said, you have to send us your card! Where’s the trust Navionics.

If you want after sales service don’t go near Navionics.

Another nation-less company who instead of bending over backwards to help, make every problem your problem.

Hi there brought platinum+ card for $478.00 Au dollars. Has 12 months subscription with it. Went to renew subscription. Cost $450 Au dollars.
they force you to subscribe because. You cannot access.the so called advanced features of the new 4.5 software. On hds gen 3.The same subscription on I phone. is $27.00 Au dollars. What a rip off this company is.
the subscription should be no more than $100.00 AU each year

Product itself is ok, albeit expensive. The problem is that it is virtually impossible to use the online update service, which in any case, is inordinately expensive. If it worked, I might subscribe, but I’m not buying a service that I can’t use...
