POOLFAB/ECOZEN [Pools & Landscapes] - Unsatisfied after close to four [4] years - pool is still a concrete shell.

Contract signed in 2018, concrete shell installed January 2019 - it is now heading into December 2022 and the pool is not complete and is still a concrete shell.
Numerous communications by us to this company with no satisfaction. Re workmanship - I have no comment to make.
I put this review up seversl months ago - Pool Fab Pools & Landscape Creations Product Review who are one and the same as Ecozen Pools and Landscapes Pty Ltd and I have just updated it to present time and will continue to do so until resolution. This pre-dates Covid 19.

We send them land survey with contours from which they then came up with a design and pricing. We signed the contract in Sep 2020 with EcoZen. In Nov 2020 the excavator rocked up with their Project Manager and owner rocked up which we then relised the actual company we are dealing with is PoolFab. We got told the design has to change as apparently no-one came onsite or had a look at the actual land or the survey contours we sent them. So we had to sign a price change of a minimum of $10,000 for just the digging the hole. Sean the owner gave us 20min to discuss and approve otherwise the excavator would go to the next job but we would still have to pay the daily rate. We accepted that change which then turned out to be around $18,000 extra just for digging the hole (digging finished January 2021). Since then we have struggled getting any work done on our site. Now it is July 2022 and all we have is a pool shell with a block wall. We ring the office but no one answers. We send emails but no one replies. We ring any contact we have but no one answers. We know they are building pools we can see reviews just done here a week ago. So we are struggling knowing what to do as we have paid over $100,000 in actual works plus some works have never been completed. We feel this company is dogdy and cannot be trusted. We have approached other pool companies but no-one wants to take the job from Poolfab / Ecozen on as they do not want to carry the liability.

Sean and the Poolfab team were great to work with from start to finish.

Our project included both pool and landscaping and we found this all inclusive project management service worked really well for us. The builders worked tirelessly on our job and even with rain and COVID delays they pushed on to deceiver us our dream pool. The office was always available to answer any questions and help us with the build. Everyone involved represented the company very well and did quality work. The attention to detail and personal service we received made us feel like we were always in good hands.

A great company with a focus on quality and customer service.

We have just completed our new pool and landscaping build with Poolfab and we were impressed from start to finish. The entire team worked with us at every stage from the designer Rhiannon, Kat and Lucy in the office and the owner Sean who worked with us personally on site and managing the construction.

The teams of trades all took great pride in their work and we could not be happier with the finished product. We highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional quality build done with a customer service focus.

We have had friends in the neighborhood also use them and they are just as happy so keep up the good work.

After five separate competitor bids to construct a pool in our backyard, we selected them for our project. They came up with the best design to make the most of our space. Their commitment to some of the unique challenges of our project proved pool fab was the right choice. This was likely the ultimate construction project to have during COVID but we got it done. We've already recommended them to friends and neighbours.

They are worse of the worse. They not even deserve my time to write a review. Not profesional. they will charge you arm and leg for very very very poor finishing. Quality= zero. Customer service = under zero. I am very disappointed. The latest issue was regarding the tiling process. I supplied what is worth of nearly $8k of tiles. They sent a stupid tiler who stuffed it up with too many lippages, uneven spaces between tiles and different grout colors. They are refusing to fix it through a different tiler and they had put my project on hold again. They are insisting to send the same tiler who literally tried to break into my property one time instead of calling me saying the gate is locked. Yet they are insisting of sending him back. That tiler also, stuffed up my organic garden by disposing his chemichals and materials in it, and they are refusing to pay the cost of replacing it!!!!. Very unprofesional way of dealing with such an issue. Please Please stay away and don't be stung.

By the way, the attached pictures are just a sample. They have stuffed up around 20sqm. Stay away guys,, you should call it PoolShit instead. That was just the latest issue. Imagine being with them for over 2 years since I first signed my contract and the pool hasn't been done yet. What a joke company!!!!!

First of all be aware that the "pool builder of the year" thing is as dodgy as they are. I called SPASA who award them this as I was shocked based on my experience and they told me that they self nominate...so they nominated themselves, for all the awards, and they "won" because of the volume etc they do, not because of any form of quality.

To the review - Every...single...step was just painful! Don't even consider them.

Step 1 - Layout - They didn't allow enough slab for a pool gate and the pool fence (kind of necessary). I picked it up prestart and were told no probs we'll fix it.
Step 2 - Dig day - The actual owner Sean (very cocky and rude) marked the pool and surrounds out. I reminded him at the start there was an issue with the layout re pool gate and he said no worries...then still marked it out incorrectly. I pointed it out and rather than say "gee thanks, you saved us some dramas" I was told it would now be a variation of over $1000 (for 200mm of concrete) and that if I didnt agree to it he would send the excavator back and charge me for it. He also said "mate why dont you let me be the project manager and you just enjoy your new pool"...all while messing up the markout...
Step 3 - Excavation - We were forecast for rain for 2 weeks and I asked to just delay rather than risk collapses. They promised me it would be dug on wednesday and concreted friday avoiding that. Yeah, that didn't happen and the pool sides all collapsed in and they wanted to charge me to redig it...
Step 4 - Plumbing - All the plumbing had to be redone by professionals we engaged as, to quote them, "this is the worst we've ever seen". We had 9 90degree bends from the heat pump to the chlorinator...should be about 3 tops (which is how it was redone). They also put the chlorinator below the top of the filter, this apparently can cause gas to become trapped and can be quite dangerous. Plumbing was done by their head builder mind you...words can't explain how much effort we had to go to to get this fixed...
Step 5 - swim jets - we had $8500 swim jets installed... they installed them crooked, compromising their effectiveness. Concreted in, cant fix...

I could go on and on about how they ruined the new chlorinator and needed to fix it, how the overflow pipe wasn't installed correctly making it useless, how their staff kept urinating on my house and over the time they took to build it has stained my house and smelled terrible. How they are amazing when selling you their BS, always responding to emails etc, then literally the moment you pay the deposit and sign you suddenly cannot get a hold of the anyone.

They made something that should have been exciting and for us to look forward to the most painful, frustrating and stressful reno/trade experience we've had (and we've renovated and flipped 5 houses). This was supposed to be our "forever" home. Now I cant stand to look at the pool and we're selling...

Just avoid for your own sakes!

We used Pool Fab for our pool up on the Sunshine Coast. They are known as Ecozen in Brisbane/Gold Coast. Wish we had used a different company. Word of warning - stay clear of Ecozen and Pool Fab at all costs. Nightmare process, still not done four months after ‘completion date’. Tried to charge us $4400 EXTRA to change the pebblecrete colour, we only need one cubic metre of concrete! Don’t use Pool Fab or Ecozen.

we originally purchased our pool july 17. the start of our build was not ideal with a lot of miscommunication and confusion. the new ownership saw a change in our experience from the get go. sean and chris both came to meet us in our yard and listened to all of our points and concerns. kept us updated and stuck to the schedule. highly professional and caring. they managed to get it finished before the start of school holidays as originally promised by previous owners. kids have lived in it over the summer. highly recommend the new owners for a smooth build.

We were very excited to sign a contract to have a small pool fitted with the arrangement that our pool would be ready for Christmas 2018. Agreed by sales man John on the day of signing our contract.

Poolfab did not meet their deadline by many weeks and would not take any phone calls or return phone calls on multiple occasions. We were only contacted when they were ready for the next stage and when it came to paying the bills. Extremely frustrating

There was no communication between John (sales man) and Anthony (on-site contractor) to manage the build. When there was an issue, they would all blame each other and no one would take responsibility. If it wasn’t for my husband being on site through each stage micromanaging the company there would have been many errors. One being a 2 inch step in the tiling between the patio and the pool. The entire area was quoted for a seemless tile to maximise the small space. Thankfully my husband was onsite to put a stop to what could have been a huge expense to fix.

The steel workers were excellent but left the steel on our front driveway for up to six weeks causing a extra charge and warning from unity water for not having access to the water metre. Again no feedback from company on this when we requested the steel get removed.

We met the owner on one occasion which talked us into adding a border tile to the pool. This was not in our contact. Note: please insure all elements are including in the original contract or you will be overcharged massively.$2750 for 20 linear metres of ceramic border tiles!!!

The pump was installed between two windows and the pipping from the pump overlapped the door opening from the master bedroom onto the back yard. This was however fixed when I emailed the company.

We would not recommend this company due to the lack of communication and the culture of this company.

The one star was for the quality of the tradesmen. All contracted in but I doubt any of them work for pool fab as they were difficult to work for.

I recently had a pool built by Poolfab on the sunshine coast. There really wasn't much that went right. Very unhappy experience. I would not recommend them to anyone and I cant understand why all their staff (except office staff) and tradies are so rude. Very disappointed and wouldn't engage them again.

We are so delighted at the end of our first summer with our new pool in Noosa. Construction ran smoothly even if we did make a few changes on our own on the run. The team put the design together with us at the beginning and our vision became a reality when we got our first swim. POOLFAB made it clear what was their bit and what bits we had to do in order for it to all come together at the end.

I shopped around the coast for a Pool builder and settled on Poolfab because of their inclusions and the perception that we were going to get a superior product and excellent project management. They delivered on a good product but the rest was below average. No communication once building started, the pool was slightly smaller than the drawing we signed off on, when we asked for a discount it was declined. We were slapped with a variation for earthworks even though we provided plenty of access through our neighbours property. Our overflow pipe was connected to our water tank instead of the storm water....
Every time we complain or voice our concerns we are just ignored by [name removed]...

Not a good experience. I wouldn't suggest using them, if they delivered on on Customer Service and Project Management I could justify their additional price but knowing what I do now, I would have chosen a different company.

pool has been done ok but doubt value for money If the construction team was as efficent as the accounts team would be an awesome mob to deal with lack of communication from the construction team between the customer and the subbies and taking on way to much work that they can handle has stopped getting any more than a 3 star review contract was for 120 day build time wow lost count of the days only time you really hear from any one is when they want a payment
overall average experience mind you started great with the designer who finished up after signing the contract ....that should of been my walk away signal
