Romeo has been helping my Frenchie with his anxiety problems with other dogs. He always has time to explain things to you and is a excellent trainer. Thank you all.
Will definitely keep on using their services, as day school or boarding when we travel.
Our instructor Romeo is outstanding and we can’t really thank him enough for his patience and support.
When we dropped him off we did advise the trainers he had a sensitive tummy and to feed him his own food (we took a months supply with us). While at Royvon we noticed our dog had frequent very water diahorrea which the trainers didn't seem to notice or be bothered by. It was only when one heard me comment on how bad his stomach was that they shifted and looked a little uncomfortable. I asked about his weight as he is VERY skinny and unweight having been potentially a little podgy when we dropped him off. I was told it was the training and that they had given him extra food. We left without being given any of his own food back so I can only assume in 3 weeks he had a months worth of food plus all the chicken etc and still lost weight. Seemed odd.
At home, we hoped him being back on his food for a couple of days would improve things. It didn't and after two sleepless nights (as he wanted to go out constantly) he was lethargic and in pain. We took him to the vets where he was admitted for fluids and antibiotics - his white cell count was high indicating an infection. The vet's immediate comment was that he had lost over a kg and that the stomach issues must have been going on for some time. Over £800 of veterinary treatment, later things have finally settled and our pup is home and brighter but still very thin and needing TLC. I feel awful that I allowed him to go to Royvon for him to suffer like this! Thankfully it wasn't a blockage as we first feared (I had to take a foreign object out of his mouth while we were there).
We were given the pitch look how calm your dog is now when actually he was really sick and now he is recovering he is just as lively and the same dog we took in minus a kg and some fur on his front legs and neck from the all the vet treatment. Why did no-one phone us or think to take him to a vet? We have paid for a package that includes 3 months of follow up training and I am terrified at the idea of taking him back should he become poorly again.
Throughout the 3 weeks, we were sent updates and were overjoyed to hear how well Dylan was doing. In each of the photo updates we noticed that Dylan was wet but we put this down to him enjoying time playing with friends in the rain and the facilities.
After 3 weeks we excitedly picked up Dylan (we’d missed him so much!). And this time he was wet again. It hadn’t been raining that day but we still put it down to the heavy rain over the previous few days. Upon arrival, my partner mentioned that the facilities smelt badly of faeces and noted that the dog faeces bin was overflowing with poo bags which had been stepped on and broken. The care team also told us that they’d lost Dylan’s dog bowl and food supplements and were unable to locate them. I brushed this off and assumed it was an off day for Royvon as they’d seemed to be very professional on drop off.
After the handover session we got Dylan home and dried him off properly. Within minutes, it was clear that Dylan was not OK. He was excessively scratching and when we petted him dry we noticed his entire body of fur was matted. His head had 3 big clumps of fur matted together. His belly was completely matted with clumps of days-old dirt stuck to it which we were unable to remove and his skin was inflamed from the combination of matted fur and excessive itching. We felt so guilty for trusting the team at Royvon.
We dropped Darren a note to find out what had happened. He responded to say he’d get back to us following an investigation. In the meantime, we tried our best to clean Dylan up and booked him in with our regular groomer as soon as possible.
We heard nothing from Darren after our initial email.
When we originally dropped Dylan off, we gave the care team explicit instructions to groom him every other day and this was part of our legal agreement with Royvon. From what we saw when he arrived home, he could not have been groomed at all during his stay as his fur was in such a state.
We finally got Dylan to the groomers and they were devastated that his coat was in such a state and that it had deteriorated so much in only 3 weeks. The only option for Dylan was to remove his entire golden coat we’d spent so long nurturing over the previous 10 months.
Since Dylan lost his entire coat due to the negligence of Royvon, Darren and the team have refused to offer a refund for the £1,300 which resulted in our dog losing his entire coat and have admitted that this has happened before. We are now left £1,300 out of pocket with a shaved pup and a company who neglected our dog but don’t appear to care.
My partner and I would highly recommend not sending your dog to Royvon.
Would highly recommend the care given.
She was fine !!!!
The staff realised that she prefers to be with the slightly smaller dogs so her playtimes allow for this .
It’s great for me to be able to see her most days on Instagram ,
I live in Hertfordshire and on a good round trip it takes me 2 hours ( pet taxis is available if I need it) but to me it’s worth it to know she is happy, safe and taken care off .
My only negative is the billing system is confusing but the staff always get it sorted for me
