Really poor Nas. Struggled with it every time I've used it. Some times it doesn't work and I leave it off for a year. I just want to access backed up data but can't. Be warned, loads of people have had trouble with their drives!!

I had issues with my external hard drive. One single tweet had the customer service team on top of the problem and a resolution was come to in roughly 20 minutes. Amazing work, would recommend their products

I never expected to be "taken" by a corporate/computer peripherals giant like Seagate but I was wrong. Anyway,it looks like I've again "been taken" by corporate "double-speak" in a Seagate advertisement that insinuated that if I bought one of their mega-storage units (called Central), I would also be protected via mirror-like storage on their cloud service. Boy was I wrong. And of course, you don't realize this until a problem happens. Which of course it did. I did not expect that from Seagate. As a huge corporation I thought you were beyond taking "change" away from thier clients. But I guess every penny helps when you are spending billions on acquisitions. So where else to get the funds but from their stupid, ignorant, non-legalese educated existing clients. What you (and in this case Seagate) do is make an exceptional offer for a piece of obsolete (or soon to be obsolete) equipment; wrap it up in a lot of goobledygook concerning protection in the cloud; and sell it to your best idiot clients. Unfortunately, I'm now stuck with another piece of Seagate garbage that I will have to get rid of somehow. I've no use for yet another hard drive no matter how large it is, when I'm trying to consolidate the 30-40 or so hard drives that I already have from my old computers. What a joke! And again it's being played over and over again on unsuspecting and gullible clients of this mega-monster. If you have other choices - use them.

The Seagate Barracuda is my #1 preferred hard drive type when it comes to computers. Everyone swears by WD but not me, I have had much better luck with Seagate then any other manufacture when it comes to hard drives. My first love was Quantum Fireball back when they made drives for non business as well because I know I must have reformatted my 20GB more then 1K times in the time I used it & it never failed just bigger drives came out so I moved on. I love Seagate & I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good quality drive.

I placed two orders for two difference products last Saturday. One order was canceled six days later due to high demand and the other was canceled without notice. What is especially annoying is that they don't process orders based on ordering time and many who placed order later than me got orders filled. :(

In the same boat as many other purchasers of Seagate GoDrive 120GB USB 2.0 My confirmed order of one drive was canceled due to "high demand for this product". Heck, I couldn't believe that a high tech company such as Seagate could not manage effectively their real-time online inventory !!! Will not waste my time with this lame business.

Ordered two pro 120's. Recevied in a timely manner and at a great price. Alot of the negative reviews on here are of people who got mad when they put these on sale and didnt get them. I on the other hand am very happy and would recommend seagate to anyone. To those that didnt get them when they were at a blowout price....STOP THE WHINING

Ordered a Seagate FREEAGENT DESKTOP drive
7200-RPM USB2.0 250 GB from their website on Friday night, which was on sale at a special 50% off price. Saturday I received a confirmation, and another confirmation on Sunday. It was supposed to be shipped with 3-5 day free shipping. I waited for it until Wednesday night, when I got an email saying they had canceled my order due to high demand, and offering me a 10% discount on a future purchase.
So it took 5 days from the time I placed the order for them to tell me they were out of stock and they didn't offer to let me wait until it was back in stock to get it. I just think they should have notified me right away instead of confirming the order TWICE and then cancelling it days later. I plan to avoid their store and their products in the future.

I had to RMA an old 4.1 gig Seagate hard drive. Told'em it was broke and they just said sent it to us and we'll see what we can do. After they received and made sure it was dead they sent me out a new 20 gig drive via 2day express delivery. Very very nice customer service.

Purchased a new drive from Comp-USA failed after about months use, returned it in March 08 the replacement drive a used hard drive lasted about 2 weeks before it also failed. Asked for a new replacement as we have lost our laptop data twice now, refused. It took sevral weeks to get first drive replacement you have to pay to send drive in, only contact is email and it takes days for a reply.I will never buy from them again.
Drive was returned and received by them still have not got a replacement its the 25.

I ordered three small portable backup drives from Seagate and, after receiving a confirmation email, I rearranged my schedule so that I could backup my relatives' computers. Four days later (on 27 August Wednesday) I received an email cancelling my order. The reason given was that they had sold more than they had in stock.

Any reputable company would offer to substitute a comparable product for the same price (there was no pricing error) but all Seagate offered was a time-limited 10% discount on products having a greater capacity than I wanted. I thought Seagate was a good company to do business with, but I was wrong.

Purchased a brand new terabyte drive from Seagate, failed after less than two days usage, taking my literally 15 years of data with it. Despite the fact that this line of drives is known to fail, and the fact that they have offered to provide data recovery services for other models in the same line, they told me no such option was available to me, and that I would need to pay a MINIMUM of of $1,000 to resurrect the data from that drive. What does this say to us - the consumers? That the public has not yet cried out enough about failures on this drive, and since they have not been called out on it enough yet, they will not lift a finger to help the consumer.

I have been a loyal seagate customer for something like 15 years now, but I will never purchase a seagate drive ever again. Nor will my company, our foreign parters, or affiliates. I will make sure of it.

Bought a Maxtor hard drive June 2006, it crashed
in Feb. 2007. Send back to warranty, it took 2 days for them to get my drive, however the replacement drive is still not here after 5 weeks
and numerous phone calls and emails. Bad hardware, not reliable if you care about your data, worse service, Seagate website says 3-5 days to get a replacement drive, I am out of a computer 5 weeks and counting.

I would like to advise people of an issue I had concerning a Maxtor (now Seagate) warranty hard drive replacement. The problem seems to be related to Seagate having recently acquired Maxtor and Seagate's corporate mentality.

I purchased a new Maxtor 200GB drive in early Feb and it seized up on Mar 30th. I called Seagate for warranty replacement. The Seagate rep was well-trained and professional. She gave me instructions for the return, which I shipped on April 6.

The Seagate website showed that my hard drive was not received as late as April 29. So I emailed Seagate customer support. Over 5 emails I received a series of policy statements that seemed to imply that I was in some way attempting to defraud Seagate of a new hard drive. The only option I was given was to provide "valid proof" from the carrier that the old drive had been received by Seagate. It soon became evident to me that Seagate customer service would not investigate if they had received my old hard drive - they just kept demanding "valid proof". A few phone calls down to their shipping dept would have saved me time and demonstrated good support, not much to ask for in my opinion.

I had used the USPS and, thankfully, my small town post office is friendly and helpful. The postmaster managed to provide me proof of delivery even though I had not purchased delivery confirmation (shame on me). I emailed a PDF from the USPS to Seagate demanding that the warranty replacement be shipped immediately. I received a replacement drive several days later.

What came of this is 1) it appears that Seagate has not fully transitioned the Maxtor merger, 2) Seagate relied on distrusting policy statements rather than customer assistance and 3) it was made clear that the burden of proof was entirely on me and that Seagate would not do anything internally to assist. My advice is to prepare for some issues as Maxtor is absorbed by Seagate, to expect big-company policy recitals and to be prepared to show evidence of receipt.

Also keep in mind that Seagate returns a refurbished hard drive of the same hard drive model ("if available") as a warranty replacement. It is clearly marked n the replacement hard drive that it is refurbished. Seems to me that Seagate should provide a new unit. But this refurb policy seems consistent with the second-class customer approach demonstrated by my recent experience with customer service.
