I order magnets, calendars, and photo books from here regularly. Yes, high shipping is charged on "Free Items" most of the time. The trick is to never be in a hurry to get your items and wait for the really good sales and promos. Everything I have received is excellent quality.

I ordered 55 4x4 prints and was disappointed to find that 29 of them were cropped wrong or differently than I had arranged them in my order. Heads were cropped off, there were white spaces at the bottom, etc. Thankfully 4x4 prints were free besides shipping and tax so I will be reordering them but was heavily disappointed by this order and am hoping they will be correct the second time.

I feel bad that so many people have had poor experiences. Shutterfly is one of my favorite companies! Shipping is reliable and quality is high. They send a tracking number and if there is a problem with your order they have helpful and generous customer service if you contact them directly with the chat function. Makes great gifts!

We are using a groupon for five books & have been working on them for days! The website is NOT user friendly and as of right now, we keep getting a 500 error saying they are down. Have to finish these by January 1st and we can't even find all five books we had done! We will never use this company again! So disappointing and aggravating! I'm guessing by all of the other reviews, we won't get our books for weeks once/if we can get them done on this horrible site!

I was optimistic about shutterfly given it's reputation and the deals it had. I used Shutterfly to print small kpop photo cards and some of my prom pictures which were taken by a professional photographer. All of them were not HD. They were poor and undefined and I'm deeply disappointed with my 90 prints that I ordered from Shutterfly. What actually happened? I don't know. I do not recommend Shutterfly if you're looking for high quality prints. They are not it. Please look to other sources. Thank you.

Been with Shutterfly 15 years+ 20,000 photos +, the last 2 years you advertise a discount of 40/50%off , already discounted , no true when I check 10/20% have to call to get the discount , not easy all kinds of stories why i'm not able to get the discount. I only order when I get the 40/50%, check my site now should have the 50% discount. Stan

The website and app did not state anywhere the currency. I assumed it was in my currency which is cad. I also noticed that my shutterfly order was about $5 more than my local Walmart but I decided to order anyways. I got an email confirmation after paying that also did not show the currency. I paid $18. Days later, I check my credit card statement and I was charged $28 for a few prints that were already overpriced to begin with. I probably paid $15 more than I needed to for. Waste of money.

We ordered a custom order from Shutterfly on the 5th, and a similar one from Zazzle on the 8th. The Zazzle order got to us within 10 days. We still haven't received the item from Shutterfly. Don't waste your time with a company who can't get something to you in a decent amount of time (or leave more than 2 1/2 weeks to order something from them.) But my suggestion is just go somewhere else. Why take a chance?

I paid for expedited shipping for order I placed with Shutterfly as I needed for an event. The order didn't arrive as promised and it arrived the following day. I placed 5 orders transit time 5-7 days the expired transit time didn't change got it on the 6th business day. I tried to get a refund. They are telling me that I paid for standard shipping. If I wanted it standard I would have used the SHIP39 discount and wouldn't pay for standard shipping cost. It would have been free since it was over 39 dollars. Not happy!

The product and delivery were very good. The website ordering process excruciating. The interface for ordering 8x 8 photo tiles was difficult at best. I wrote to Shutterfly about my experience with the website interface but never received an acknowledgement. I purchased because of a sale price of off the normal price. Then a few days later they reduced the price another $3.00. Although the end product was as expected, putting up with the difficult ordering experience and another sale on top of the sale for a new product offer, and no acknowledgment of my complaint, I felt like a chump.

Update: Per Shutterfly's response to my review I did reach out to them the next day and provided more detailed information about the issues I experienced in ordering on the website. I even forgot to mention the free shipping offered if I reached a certain spend, which I did, and never received. Have I had a reply yet? (as of 9/7) Nope.

UPDATE: It’s now Sept 13, it’s officially been over 2 months since I ordered my photos. Shutterfly responsed to this review and gave me contact info. I emailed them the same day and have not heard a response.
I just want my money back and they are ignoring me. I keep getting promotion emails from them but never a response to my email.
This is officially the worst company I’ve personally ordered from.

We have ordered hundreds of school pictures, mugs, calenders, etc. Out last order was spring pictures. What we received was unacceptable. Mind you we ordered the digital package from school. What we received had the orientation reversed so most the picture was cut off an there was only a headshot. One of them cut the younger siblings lower 1/4 face out of the picture. When customer service was contacted they said we would have to replace the order and repay. Minded you these were taken and sent to them VIA Lifetouch

I have ordered many times from Shutterfly! I have always loved how user friendly their site/app is, and they’re affordable! My most recent purchase was for save the dates for my wedding, and I realized a few hours later that I accidentally doubled my order! I was so frustrated with myself and used their live chat feature that night to try and change my order and get refunded the difference of the card amount that I over-ordered. Unfortunately, the agent who I chatted with said the order had already been printed and couldn’t be cancelled or changed (they’re fast, which is good!) However, the agent refunded almost half of my order anyway on behalf of their amazing customer service. I was SO appreciative! The agent was helpful and kind. I am so grateful. (Manikandan was my customer service rep. Major props to him/her!)

Garbage company with garbage business ethics. They want you to pay a premium for shipping an envelope so they can make money off of you. When you don't pay the premium and select standard, you get unreliable tracking data and constantly delayed delivery dates. It does not make sense to wait for 2 photos for 20+ business days and it shows as "in transit". I guess whatever scheme they came up with UPS, it is making them money. It won't be coming out of my pocket anymore, that's for sure.

Just stay away from this company if you do not want to wait for your order for a month...

Annoying photo editor - wasn't sure about the supposed discount but I went with it - photo book should have been delivered 12/18. Today is 12/19 - the tracking hasn't been updated since 12/16. The issue though is that you cannot reach customer service. Chat is unavailable - no way to send a message - I will never use Shutterfly again - at this point I doubt I will receive this gift in time for Christmas. It was shipped 12/12/19 - plenty of time

Shutterfly has stolen $54.00 from me and refuses to give it back, in the middle of a pandemic causing mass unemployment. On the streets we call that a robbery. I've never been ripped off and then treated so callus by a company of this size. Tell your friends to go somewhere else for whatever they might be looking for.

Save your money and have your prints done at CVS, Walmart, etc where you can proof them before paying! I've ordered 2 mugs from them and the prints were fine, but my photo prints were way off. The print from Shutterfly was way too light! We're they low on ink? Who knows.

I ordered a canvas print as a Valentines Day gift for my boyfriend. I was very excited and paid more for shipping than the actual print price just to get it early. When the package came and I opened it words can't express how upset and disappointed I was. It looked nothing like it was presented on the website and worse it wasn't even centered correctly. The print's "weathered wood frame" looked incredibly cheap and the whole thing is just garbage. Never ordering from here again.

I never received my custom mug and it’s been over 3 weeks. Item was supposed to arrive on July 21st and now it’s August 15th as i’m typing this. Total scam and a waste of my money. Highly not recommended

If I could give Shutterfly a zero stars I would. I ordered a photo book which cost $66 dollars - this is out of no where as it leads you in with low cost photo books around £18 and then add costs for every photo added. To top it off before I could receive the photo book I got a customs charge; so now in total this product worth about £25 really has cost me around £75!!!! If I had more time or hadn’t already gone to the bother of adding photos and comments and arranging it (which took 5 hours!) I would have cancelled it. Utterly disgusting service
