From the first day we walked into the SJD display home and met our consultant Kevin, to receiving our keys from site supervisor Kim, SJD were incredibly flexible, supporting, thoughtful and professional throughout our whole design to build process.
As we already had land and an idea for our build, the process for us was more about getting the house plans perfect for our 4 acre block. We were able to bounce ideas off Kevin who clearly had a lot of experience in design and layouts for houses and completely understood our brief. The design stage took close to 12 months but that was mainly for the sake of double checking every fine detail and adding things within our budget. SJD had a great choice of standard inclusions, making us feel like it wasn't necessary to spend up big on upgrades. We however did upgrade a few things and were pleasantly surprised with how cost efficient these all were.
Onto to build stage, with some hiccups caused by weather and adding a nice challenge on a sloping block. After a 9 week weather delay the site cut was rectified and just like that we were out of the ground. Kim kept us in the loop with all the happenings in the early stages of the build which was great. It was incredibly impressive to see how fast and the level of finish the trades had. Along the way Kim was more than happy for my wife and I to not only meet with him on site to discuss issues or concerns but also with trades to make sure we were all on the same page. This was incredibly beneficial to us with the tiling layout for our ensuite and bathroom and also the feature cultured stone pillar on our facade. The outcome of both of these were top class and we are so happy we had the opportunity to meet the trades to discuss all the options and our vision.
Over all the experience has been great, we always felt that SJD truly understood how much this house meant to us especially being our first home. Both Kevin and Kim went above and beyond across the entire process.
Now we're settling in we are incredibly happy with the finished product.

We first met Rachel in January 2019 armed with a sketch and a dream of what our new house would look like. Rachel spend many hours turning that sketch into a fantastic house plan. When construction started, our building supervisor Brad Little was all over it. He always kept in contact updating us of the progress and ensuring that the built met our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for Brad, he was very patient and understanding and we loved the fact that he was very particular about maintaining a high standard finish. Both Rachel and Brad are a credit to SJD Homes and the building industry. Everyone we dealt with at SJD Homes from Rachel, Brad, Leah and the ladies in the office were polite, engaging and highly professional. If you want a high quality home then look no further than SJD Homes.

I was referred by a work colleague to SJD due to the poor customer services my partner and I had experienced with a previous builder. The first time we met Philippa our consultant we were amazed at her knowledge, dedication and overall customer service.Throughout the entire process Philippa made it a breeze and was always very approachable when we had any additional questions and always went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable with the process.
Our site supervisor Aaron was awesome and made sure that every detail was perfect. We had a couple of minor hiccups but Aaron was very prompt with resolving any minor issues. He was always very friendly and approachable throughout the process and well felt like we were in good hands. We would definitely build with SJD in the future.

We have moved into our brand new SJD home three weeks ago, and have been very happy overall with our experience building with them! Lee in sales was great during the initial process, and our site supervisor Hamish has been fantastic with everything. Nothing we asked him to follow up was too much, and even yesterday he was happy to swing by and have a look at something for us. Thanks Hamish and SJD for building our dream home!

SJD homes did great job building my dream home the salesman Kevin had did the custom build on corner block in Cranbourne East and big thanks to the site supervisor shane Quinlan on the move to do the best finishing , To build with sjd is cheap, compared to elsewhere great and friendly people who you can trust. We built our family home with SJD a few years ago now and it should be noted that even a few years on, we are totally happy with the ongoing build quality and finishes of our house. My husband is in the building industry and therefore quite particular about build standards, and even he was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the SJD display homes. From the start of the process they made it easy to customise their plans to our needs. We also found that the inclusions that would have been extra with many other building companies, were standard at SJD. The colour,materials and finishes choices were excellent and enabled us to design the house to our taste. During the build, our site supervisor Shane went out of his way to keep us in the loop at every stage and was obliging about responding to our requests. Any faults or issues that did come up at the 6 month inspection, were taken care of by Shane and the team without question. We are very happy with our SJD home and would recommend them to others wanting a quality builder.

This was our first home, and it was not an easy process of finding the right builder when you know nothing about building construction. There are so many builders out there in the market, and everybody is offering great discounts and extra values. However, the service is not very satisfactory (I have friends complaining about so many issues with their first home.)

Our journey with SJD was utterly different. Rachel was a fantastic person to deal with. The continues improvements that she has made to our custom-built house was immeasurable. We have nearly spent two years speaking to various builders, and Rachel was the only person who is very knowledgeable and honest with us. She is a miracle worker. She has got a lot of patience and never got upset with us for anything. We felt like that we are dealing with somebody in our family.

Rachel has the instinct to understand what the customer wants. There are no short cuts or misguiding.

The second most important person is James.

James was our building supervisor. He was straightforward and upfront with us. I want to call him Mr. Perfect for the quality of his supervision.

He played a vital role in building our dream home.

James took care of everything; his attention to detail was awe-inspiring. One year after moving into the house, we did not find any faults at all.

Overall the service was fantastic!!!.

We were fortunate to build our first home with SJD.

From the beginning in December 2018 with Mark at the Clyde North display, through to handover with site supervisor Kim, this build has been impeccable. We were always so pleased to be able to see new progress every weekend during our weekly visit to the build site. Mark went above and beyond to secure us the best deal and from the second we moved over to the construction phase in June, Kim went through every single step with a fine toothed comb to ensure that things were perfect. He even picked up on some things we didn't notice! Most SS would just ignore these little things but Kim's attention to detail was the difference between making a stock-standard house and making a home. We also appreciated how strict Kim was with his trades - even asking them to come and do a better job at cleaning up after themselves!
We have been so pleased with the build process and are so appreciative of the accommodations that Kim made for us to help us in our journey. Whether it was answering texts late at night or meeting outside work hours to suit our hectic schedules, we always felt like we could trust what he was telling us and that we didn't need to worry about anything. This was so important to us and we can't thank Kim enough. Compared to our last build with a different company, SJD have been absolutely incredible. Our 'standard' inclusions are what other companies charge extra for. We are in awe of the finished product and are in love with our SJD home. Thank you Mark, Kim and the rest of the team.

As first home buyers finding a builder to trust is very daunting!
Well from the moment we walked into the sales office we were pretty much sold! From the original floor plan mixed and matched we had our house designed Rachel couldn’t have been any more help! Finally construction hit and we were off and running! Kim was more then accommodating to any questions and was quick to pick up on any issues with a quick email or phone call, being a modified house there were a couple of little issues not picked up whilst on the drawing board but Kim and the particular companies were quick to find a solution and ensure the house was complete! Can not wait to move in and enjoy our SJD home

From day one cant really fault our experience, we dealt with Tracey pre construction and Hamish during construction and they both made building our first home so easy! Hamish was on top of any issues during the build making it super smooth towards the end. We are over the moon with the finishes and quality of the build, and how well kept and clean it was the whole way through. Can’t thank SJD enough!

Starting with Mark in sales, he put 100% in crafting out a design specific to our needs. He guided us though the early part of our build with such professionalism. Then followed by Kim our site supervisor we was excellent and had a keen eye for quality. He took the stress out of the whole building process and his communication was excellent throughout the whole time of building our lovely home. We would have no hesitation recommending SJD to our friends and family in the future.

The workmanship of the trades has been fantastic for the most part. A few painting defects awaiting repairs as per usual on any newly built home, but everything else has been superb. This is our first home and we are so glad we decided to build with SJD.

The experience that I had with SJD homes was fantastic, from initial discussions with Nathan through to final build with Hamish.SJD Homes were so helpful in allowing us to modify one of their standard designs to create something very special for us.As someone who works in the construction industry, I understand the importance of a good supervisor and Hamish was fantastic person to have him as a supervisor. He always kept us informed, is meticulous with his trades and we couldn't be more pleased. Back in February 2020 SDJ handed us the keys to our dream home. From beginning to end SDJ Homes showed us how easy it could be to have all of your dreams in one home. we first walked through the house we loved and started talking to Phillipa Hardman and to say she was helpful is an understatement. From the get go Phillipa helped us and walked us through everything as this was our second time building we had an idea but Phillipa showed us the way and always kept us in our budget which was very important to us. Always having our best interests at heart and all her background knowledge it always made our decisions easy. Once Phillipa took us through the paperwork she then introduce us to our colour consultant Leah Dalton who let us run free with what ever we wanted also steering us in the right direction where we needed it. After we had chosen our colours we were lucky enough to be appointed THE BEST site foreman any one could ask for. If we had a problem James Unthank was there to fix it even if he had to do the work himself there was no complaining he rolled his sleeves up and got the job done. if you are looking for an affordable builder who is personable and very easy to deal with you Stop looking because SJD Homes are the builder you. Thank you again to The SJD Homes team for making our dreams come true. Also a special mention for Isabella Smith whom was also very helpful throughout the whole process.

The first display home l looked at was the CAV Mk3 and thought this was for me, spoke to Kevin the Sales Consultant and nothing was a problem to the changes we made to suit our needs (larger garage, 1 less bedroom, and the facade from the Loxton ). Leah was very helpful with the colour scheme and spent plenty of time going through everything.
Now for the Site Supervisor, Shane Q, this man is Brilliant, he takes pride in the build as if he was building it for himself and if a problem arises (which can happen when changes are made from the original plans) he has the answers. Shane kept us up to date with every stage and even sent photos of the progress. The Tradies Shane had at his disposal where first class and cant thank him enough for our home. I have no hesitation in recommending SJD Homes to anyone who wants a quality build

We are so glade with our choice to build our dream home with SJD , the building process from start to end has gone so smooth no stress what so ever, Jean morrison was our building consultant she has helped us to put together a beautiful house , we went through all the display homes for SJD and ended up liking certain rooms from each house and she helped us to put it together on one great and very smart house plan . After signing the contract we met with James Unthank the site supervisor he is such a great guy , very professional with a lot of experience and great customer service , his execution was immaculate with exceptional attention to details and building requirements, he walked us through every stage of the building and always communicated with us and attended to our emails straight away , we were so lucky to have James as our site supervisor he was very organized and thorough , our building finished on time to move in before Christmas. We are a very picky couple and he was very patient and flexible with us and we can't thank him enough for his hard work .We have done a 6 month of research before signing with SJD and definently they are very well priced specially after looking at the quality of the finishing and the tradesmen work , we had almost included everything that was in their display homes and it was still cheaper than the standard building with a lot of the other builders, Its definently a company to trust for building your dream home. We have just moved into our new home and already loving it !!! Thanks so much SJD team you have promised and delivered. We definetly going to be a returning customer

Going to all the other builders( carlisle, metricon you name it) with the same requirements and being told things where to hard and would cost an excessive amount, all I wanted done is to extend a room space and build an oven wall, when I went into SJD I met Kevin and made the whole process seamless,

Then onto the build, I was well informed step by step when things are happening, I was blessed to have an Awsome site manager in SCOTT C, he always answered my calls and took the time to meet me and explain each stage, also sending me photo updates ..

SJD Homes was the first builder whom we worked with from inception to completion. We've lived in two houses since my wife and I were married 30+ years ago, and were looking at downsizing. Leigh S was very patient with us. He did not rush us. His words were, "This is your home you are going to live in, so take your time in getting it right". SJD Homes were flexible in making modifications unlike volume builders. Leigh was easily accessible and answered all the questions we had. About 18 months later we signed the contract and were put at ease all along the way up to signing the contact. The whole SJD team who serviced us from colour selection to admin were 1st Class. We read about Shane Q, our building supervisor in SJD Homes reviews and true to those reviews he was a true professional and his customer service was exceptional. He made sure that my wife and I were across everything and he was every ready to meet us on site and when appropriate take us through the build stage. The house was completed sooner than we had expected and even our friends were surprised. Our side-neighbour complemented the SJD builders when speaking to us, saying that they impressed as they did not leave the site in a messy state. On another occasion, I received an SMS from the same neighbour saying [quote] "my best friend is a builder in the area and he said that your builder is one of the best going around". The neighbours across the street had also followed the build and they were also complementary of SJD's builders and work. They loved the design too. We couldn't have been more proud of SJD Homes whom we choose, not from any personal references or past association. I always believe that it's the people that 'sell' the company, not only the designs on display. I'd say that the people whom we met and the value we got from SJD Homes were worth the journey with them. The handover process was exciting for us. Now 6 weeks into living in the house that SJD Home build for us, we have truly made it a home for my wife and I. The garden's also ready for when our grand-children come over. Thank you SJD Homes.

Rachel and SJD were very patient with us as we took three years to sell our home and commence with SJD. Through various design changes and upgrades we were thrilled to finally start in Sept 2019.
Site Supervisor Kim was excellent to deal with, responsive to calls and emails and very good at listening to any concerns we had. Kim is action orientated and does what he says, or will tell you straight what can and cant work and will offer alternative suggestions to meet your wishes.
We chose SJD originally for the quality of their build and the great value of upgrade options and we were not disappointed.
