SK Cleaning Services

Got charged $380 to replace the thermostat wall control, then got charged $480 to service and replace what looks to be a "safety part" resembles a foot long copper wire attached to a spark plug. All up I paid $860 for 30mins work. The invoice and website does not state anything about electrical or plumbing work yet Mark travels around with a sub contractor named Mustafa P who he claims does all the electrical and plumbing work.

Mark also wanted me to write a positive review even before he had begun the work and he was quite pushy about it. If a person were truly professional and believed in his work, there would be no need for this.

The invoice I got from Mark is for SK Cleaning Services, the details of the repairs done on the thermostat and external heating unit by his contractor were hand written by Mark. Not very professional or convincing. Not sure if this is even legal? Lets just hope the contractor's work is not as dodgy as this whole affair of a duct cleaning service masquerading as a certified electrician and plumber.

Would I use them again or recommend them to others? NO.

I emailed for a quote at 645pm and hadnt a call back by 7pm and an appointment booked in for 2pm the next day.
Excellent service, thorough clean of a very dirty mattress. Mark was polite, professional and on time. The service that was promised was delivered and I would recommend Mark and his company to my family and friends,

1 star is too generous, please read other reviews by REAL customers also go by "Mark's duct cleaning". Have been ripped off almost $1000 by these heartless men. They use no machinery to clean ducts were still filthy when they left. Replaced a part without diagnosing the real problem in turn blowing my heater up 2 weeks later and also wanted to charge a further $1200 for a problem that didn't exist. Didn't even see any evidence they were licensed to do the work. In the hands of consumer affairs now. They need to be stopped from ripping off trusting customers!

Booked with one company, got another, charged by a third. They monopolise Internet with shonky links. Thought I was getting a local. Money grab. Didn't service my unit which is what we booked. Did a second rate job cleaning ducts then told me I need a new system. Dodgy dodgy dodgy. Missed a duct and charged an extra. Won't call back. Stay away!

Called SK Cleaning and Mark (the manager) quoted me between $180 and $200 for my couches to be cleaned. The website only communicates one particular type of cleaning.
When the cleaner arrived, he inspected the couches, asked how old they were and then asked if I wanted the 'good clean' or the 'standard clean'. Upon inquiring as to the difference, the standard clean does not include deodorising, sanitising or scotchguarding. I told the cleaner I did not want to proceed, apologised for him having wasted his time and indicated for him to leave. He then said that he could do everything but the scotchguarding for $200. I agreed.
The actual job was over in just after 30 minutes. There was still dust on the couches once he was done as he didn't vacuum first, but instead just steamed the dust into the couch. Some of the cushions smelled less dusty while others were still quite stale.
I just wanted him out of my house at this point. I called Mark and attempted to explain what had happened but he gave me some rubbish about how there are two levels of cleaning despite the website communicating only one type of clean.
I'll be reporting these guys to consumer affairs. Absolutely avoid - particularly if you're a person who's not prepared to have an argument with a person in your own home. It's obviously a very deliberate ploy to get into your house and then back you into a corner where you either tell them to leave or accept the higher quote or the average job.

Booked for 08.00 am because of work and came at 08.30 am (they did not give courtsey call) no apologies and wanted to charge more and more money.

This company advertised as "Ballarat" but duct cleaner drove up from Melbourne, leaving me feeling more obligated to follow through will job. Charged $550 to clean 8 ducts, only vacuumed out vents, return and around furnace. Requested payment before unloading vacuum. Advertising states $29 per duct, I was charged $35 "ooh very dusty"!!! $180 to "vacuum return and furnace" $90 to push button for carbon monoxide reading. Worker had perfect English at times, then would pretend not to comprehend when asked Q,s. This company manager would not respond to my complaints, always going to get back to me!!! This company has many other company names, Mark's Duct Cleaning is who I called, bank account charged to SK Cleaning. Be aware!
Daughter paid $200, 9 vents and they cleaned the ducts!! not just vents, return furnace and tested for CM.

Booked for ducted heating pipe replacement for 1 room but was told everything all 6 broken. Paid full amount, job unfinished. [name removed] wont pick up the phone, wont return phonecalls. If you believe the fake glowing reviews, you will get scammed. This needs to be reported!

I had SK Cleaning/[name removed] replace a motor in my AC unit, provided a 12 month warranty, 4 months later unit breaks down, they come and said the whole unit had to be replaced. $5000. I said no, then tried to charge a call out fee. Reported to ACCC I suggest you do the same, this company is a scam and surprised it still operates.

Avoid this company!

Just waited over two hours for the man to arrive, no apologies nothing, haggled over the price I was quoted over the telephone, the amount quoted was staggering compared to the amount I was originally told. It took him less than 10 minutes to clean 2 rugs and two small runners, then when I asked him how much for a small dining chair seat only was quoted $35 outrageous, not a pleasant experience and I have just wasted my day off waiting for his arrival. Never again, such a shame as my work wanted me to book him to clean our offices, not a chance.

I am not happy with the results after having my carpets steam cleaned on 13 June 2019.
An Indian gentleman & his female assistant steam cleaned my carpets, it took about 30 mins to clean 3 bedrooms, large lounge, dining room and hallway $220 plus 4 mats $120. Afterwards when paying I was asked if I was satisfied. Now it's hard to tell when the carpets are still wet and, even though I did stress that I thought that the areas where furniture had been still showed indents, especially in the bedrooms and it looked like they had not been steam cleaned, the gentleman fobbed me off told me not to worry and that was quite normal and that once everything has dried fully it will be fine and to ring them back if not satisfied.
The next morning I came back and it honestly looked like it had been vacuumed only and nothing else. I rang them and they would get him to call back ,nothing. As it was a rental property and I had already moved out, I did not have time to muck around and after checking with my real estate agents, I negotiated to get their recommended cleaner out that afternoon, this was time critical as new tenants were moving in and after this experience I really didn't want the same person doing the job.
The difference with the cleaner recommended by my real estate was huge, they took over an hour and cleaned all areas of the carpet including where the furniture stood and I could see the difference straight away, plus they only charged $120 for the 6 rooms, compared to SK Cleaning (AKA Mark's Maintenance) $220 for 6 rooms.
The service was unsatisfactory, as I certainly feel I did not get the service I paid for After two phone calls and two emails were ignored I chatted with Kate at online support, but was refused a refund point blank as they should have come out & redone the job didn't care about my explanation so their customer service is also rubbish, as I paid by credit card over the phone I'm thinking of getting my bank to do a charge back

I called up SK services on June 15 for carpet cleaning and house cleaning as I just occupied the property. The property was not well managed by tenant so I took the decision to clean them by professionals. I came across various service provider on Google and also on service seeking site. I simply try to SK services as it came across on list.
The price was around 35 / hour however they have focused on work and clean the carpet as well as kitchen within 2 hours.
They were punctual on time and finished all the required work what we have agreed over telecon.Thanks to The owner of SK services.

I have a newborn baby and I needed my carpets cleaned I booked and they quoted me $90 max just for the lounge and dining area 2 guys arrived and they seemed pleasant until they informed me it was $170 just for lounge area and I needed babies play rug cleaned which was an xtra 40 (cleaned rolled up and left it outside on my couch which is now wet) so all together $210 it took them 13 minutes and when I finished breast feeding baby i came downstairs to pay not only did the downstairs have a very bad odour it was a terrible job then said it's an xtra $60 for odour spray
I am absolutely discussed with the amout of money I just paid for a worse job now then what it was before they arrived I will name and shame this company as I am a new mother and moved everything outside to have carpets done and even vacuumed for them the price is outrageous and I am now going to pay another cleaning company to come within the hour to do the job right

After being told a price that should have set off alarm bells, I rang on the day to confirm the time and price, I was told they would have to measure up to provide an accurate price which was different tune to what I was told when I booked a few days before. After getting a quote for double the original (for a 2 bed unit) on top of having to pay a surcharge of $30 to go up stairs, (which I had to help to carry the equipment) and after waiting around because they were 1 hr late I didn't have many options because I had to hand the keys back to the landlord, so I just went with it anyway. Not having that sort of cash on me I asked to pay by card (Glad I didn't), I was told they wanted cash, different to what I was told on the phone the first time, and now if I wanted a receipt I would have to pay 10% more, these guys were really putting on the extras! I had to take a 10 minute walk to get more money. When I got back they were finishing up which really set off alarm bells. They did not vacuum first and pretty much just wet the rubbish into the carpet. After trying to point out what a poor job they did, I got every excuse under the sun, from the machine is too heavy, to vacuuming is extra, (On a already doubled quote PLUS 10%??). After ringing the manager and trying to explain to him what had just happened all he was concerned with was trying to get any bit of money he could out of me, telling me it was his word they would come back after I had paid the workers at least something, and it wouldn't matter because It was good enough to get my bond back. I told him I would pay after they came back when it dried to fix it up, because at this point I’m thinking these guys were going to get the cash and run. I put up with 1 hour of screeching and threats and I had to call the Police. Even the Police called the manager to explain the situation and he hung up on them after he realized they weren't there to make me pay for this worse than 2nd rate job. The Police had now realized what I had put up with for now almost 2 hours and the cleaners were asked to leave. Moral to the story, don’t be tempted by over accommodating people with cheap quotes.

I hired this company to clean 8 heating ducts in my house. After the serviceman had left, we turned on the heating and within 1 hour the floor was covered in dust. It took nearly an hour to vacuum up the dust. I called to complain and was offered for the serviceman to come back and clean up. I told them I had already cleaned up the dust left behind, and wanted a refund for the poor work conducted. Mark Gupta kept making excuses, and not returning my calls. I called him on 6 different occasions. On the last call Mark Gupta stated if I didn't like it, then go to consumer affairs.

This company advertised under the name Sam's Cleaning Sydney. They also advertise under Mark's Cleaning Melbourne. They subcontracted to a Sydney company, arrived 2 hours late, damaged my floor and towels with bleach, charged $880 to clean 2 mouldy curtains ( plus another 2 which were 90%clean), offered a $150 discount for cash and said they would follow me to the ATM ( which I refused), would not leave my house until I paid, wouldn't provide a tax invoice BUT WORST used harsh chemical around my 6 week old baby. They advertised as eco friendly but a week later my house still smells of bleach or chlorine. I have moved my baby as far away ad possible and cleaned the room twice. They will not tell me the brand name of the chemical used.Do not use them.

They charged my mother $1500 to clean two couches and a rug, of which the rug wasn’t any cleaner and one couch still had stains on it. Do not use, they are only into ripping people off!

I got my carpets cleaned today 10/3/20 through Sparkling Cleaning Services. I live in WA. SK Cleaning Services is what it says on my bank statement. And searches regarding both names bring up the same problems in reviews. Appears to be the same company but with different names in different places, also utilizing sub-contractors and using misleading quoting.

The job was done great, that’s the only reason I gave 2 starts instead of 1, however be prepared that the quote they give you on the phone is an “estimate”, even if they don’t say so. Because of that when you invoice is more than you expect it is because extra care was taken because of the condition of the carpets, or that they add the gst after the fact. None of this is the fault of the person that did the work but the business itself how have it organised this way. As a customer you feel swindled. The gay should be included in any quote. And if extra care is to be needed then that should be stated before work is done or before that extra care is taken. They also apparently didn’t include the rug I asked for in the initial quote on the phone. If using them or “marks maintenance services” (which is what the invoice actually says) then get your quotes upfront and stick to them. You can’t just add gst after quoting. Stick to your guns and they’ll charge what you were quoted. But very shoddy. Shan’t use again.

I found these guys on line, and after seeing that it was $25 a duct I thought it was a great deal. Only to be told on their arrival that I didn't have ducts, they are called vents and that I had two choices:
1. To pay $450 minimum to get the vents cleaned (in a small 2 bedroom unit..).
2. Pay him $90 for the call out fee and do nothing (no call out fee mentioned in there advertising)
As this was way outside the scope of what I was quoted on there website I gave him a $50 for his time, (not even getting a receipt), and just told them to go.
I do NOT recommend these guys, and would chase them up through consumer affairs if I had the time. $50 lost, but I good lesson in who not to use for any of my other properties!
