I am not big on buying items that are listed for sale, expecting to receive them, only to find out that they were canceled 7 days later. Most reputable merchants have their products to you before then, with Amazon products arriving in 1-2 days.
Needless to say, I will not waste my time attempting to purchase anything from this merchant in the future. Luckily, I didn't need the gifts until early February, so I have time to find replacement gifts.

A month of run-around later, Sports Authority renegged on their own promotion claiming the item was not eligible. When told that the website stated the item was eligible, they say they can't be responsible for what the website said. Very poor customer service, won't be shopping with this company again.

Basically, Sports Authority didn't want to honor the contract they formed by accepting my order, lied about the items being out of stock to excuse their cancellation, and jacked the prices up. All the while, knowing that it's probably not worth my while to sue for specific performance, since it's just two pairs of binoculars.
Avoid this store. The communications are dishonest, and you can't be sure when you order an item whether they are going to jack up the price and cancel your order.
It's worth noting, that on the order status page, they give explanations about the various status indicators affecting your orders as follows:
"New -- Orders with this status are able to be cancelled for a limited amount of time."
...
"Item(s) located in stock -- The items that you selected and submitted with your order during checkout are available and have been located in our warehouse."
My items were located in stock, indicating that they were available. Also, since the order was no longer "new," one presumes that I would not have been permitted to cancel the order anymore. Didn't stop Sports Authority, though.

The estimated arrival date was 12/3/2010 and the Sports Authority's website said it was shipped on 11/27. I received a UPSMI tracking number.
After noticing that the UPSMI tracking number was not updating and after waiting until 12/8, I called to find out that the Sports Authority did not even ship the item (why would they say they shipped it if they didn't?!). Customer service said that they could try to ship it again, but it was now on backorder and would not arrive until long past Christmas! I'm glad I didn't wait any longer! I am still waiting on having my credit card refunded and I bought the item elsewhere (they shipped it immediately and it is now in the mail) I will never, ever, EVER buy from this company again, online or in store....think twice before using the Sports Authortiy.

I called them up, the kid said he would have their delivery company in the area call me to schedule pickup. I heard nothing for two weeks.
I sent an email...I got no response for a week.
I called again, they gave me the same line, that someone would contact me within 24 hours. Yeah...right.
It's been more than 3 weeks...I still have this paperweight sitting in my apartment.
If you must buy at sports authority, don't buy the sports authority brand! They sell absolute crap...they don't care if they have a 20, 30, 40% return rate...they're still making money...and they apparently don't even refund your money if you have a problem.
The bike only had a 90 day warranty to begin with...and they wanted to sell me a 2 year warranty for $75 on a $300 bike.
THE SPORTS AUTHORITY BRAND IS ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CRAP. DO NOT BUY!
