The agent I spoke with was friendly, clear, and helpful; she sent my order off for immediate processing and indicated that I should receive a link to the download within 24hrs. After speaking with the agent, I received an email a few minutes later showing that my order is now marked as "allocated."
Great customer service and excellent pricing.
Update: Contacted Customer Service this morning and without complaint they are shipping another out and had already sent an email prior to my calling. That's great customer service! Although there was a mix up they are willing to resolve the situation :)
Update 2: New product received and Validation is completed! Thanks Studica.com for the excellent customer service and quick resolution!! I will order again!!
The UK Studica is under new management and i actually believe the old office has actually shut down and a new Studica Europe has opened and the customer service is brilliant. They have really done a full U turn and have seemed to listen to all the bad reviews and done something about it.
I would order from them again and defiantly recommend them, I ordered my product and it was next day delivery. With this i then ordered a bigger order which yes some products were out of stock but with a weeks wait the items were being delivered.
Yesterday I recieved the second part of my ~$1500 order: Lightwave 8 and Avid Xpress Pro. I immediately ran into two problems. My copy of Lightware arrived with out the dongle (or hardware key) required to run the software. Further, when I went to register my Xpress Pro I discovered Avid's registration software doesn't recognize Studica or their parent Co. Torcomp as a valid reseller.
I immediately emailed their [email protected] address with my issues. I recieved a quick response: Please call such and such number so we can resolve your issue.
Their resolution: We can't do anything for you. You'll have to call Newtek about your Lightwave dongle. People call in all the time about that problem with Avid, and we tell them to call Avid and they never call us back, so you should try that.
... And I spent $1500 with these people.
Be aware of their long delivery time (8 days in my case) and their awful return policy! If you buy anything from Studica.com and want to return it, it has to be UNOPENED! This is terrible when you're buying computer stuff and you need to test it to make sure it works the way it's supposed to. I bought the Matrox TrippleHead2Go Analog device. When it didn't work the way I thought it would, too bad. They say there's nothing they can do for you. They litterally transfered my support call to Matrox's support center without telling me they where doing so. I began receiving instructions in French and didn't know what was going on. So, I hung up and called them again.
I buy a lot of computer stuff online. When I get something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to I am usually able to get a FULL refund. But not with Studica! They gave me the 'there's nothing we can do' speech and 'our policy' doesn't allow us to do that. A bunch of crap in my opinion. They created their policy, the government or some other entity didn't force them to make it that way. They acted as if they couldn't believe I would even think about asking to return an opened product. They created the parameters in which they do business and could be a lot more customer centered. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM STUDICA.COM AGAIN!

I think everything they said to me over the cellphone has been a lie !
I basically have a 3d printer paperweight. I feel like I got scammed!
THIS MACHINE IS NOT A CONSUMER DEVICE!!! DO NOT EXPECT TO PLUG IN AND PRINT A .STL FILE WITHOUT HOURS OF TINKERING. SOFTWARE CRASHES ON WIN 7 AND WIN 8.1. HEATED BED OUT OF ALIGNMENT. AFTER 3 HOURS ATTEMPTING TO ALIGN STILL THE SAME.
I have now ordered directly from Adobe, which is probably what I should have done in the first place. Adobe Ireland mailed the items on 11th January, using UPS, and they arrived here on 12th January!
Studica has a long way to go in the service department, although when I did eventually reach two members of staff, Kay and Laura, both were polite, but never did get back with the tracking number for the replacement package supposedly sent on the 4th January. When Adobe itself offers such efficient service I am not sure why anyone would want to use Studica having experienced both service levels within a week or so of each other.
Is good to know that prices online are excluding VAT ... that surprised me. :)
