The reasoning why I chose Sydney Roof and Gutter Restoration was simple, due to the product having a 25 year warranty I was concerned the other smaller companies who quoted wouldn't be in business in 20+ years making claims allot more difficult. I contacted Sydney Roof and Gutter Restoration after searching for the oldest ABN in Sydney.
Surprisingly, after we agreed on price I was contacted by the project manager who made some professional recommendations which reduced the price by $900. Uuuuummmm WOW!
The project management was fantastic, materials arrived on time and work started on schedule. The install took 1 day longer than expected due to some issues with the roof framing. I was not charged any extra for the time spent. Double WOW!
In conclusion, Sydney Roof and Gutter Restoration has outstanding customer service, the staff are passionate and have the customer best interest in hand. I have no hesitation in recommending there services. Absolutely sensation....
I have had the colour bond roof installed for 6 months and it's the best thing I've ever done. Though winter, my family notice how much warmer the house is, especially on those cold winter nights. No more freezing early morning toilet stumbles. We have also noticed a big reduction in heating costs and I can't wait for those sticking hot summer days. In the coupe of warm days we've had already my house was cool inside with no AC running. Im so happy.
If you are thinking of updating your roof, I strongly recommend a colour bond roof and Sydney Roof and Gutter Restoration.
11/10

Anyhow we were then quoted for a new Colorbond Roof and went ahead with this. A week later the job was done - and we are so Happy with the result. They are professional and for the most part kept us up to date with what was going on and when it would be happening.
The finished product was worth the wait. Thank you SGRR. Would we recommend them? Yes!

Communication was excellent. I would highly recommend SGRR.Well done team.
UPDATE
I just had SGRR do a second job for me. Leaf Screener at my investment property.
They were just as professional as the first job.I highly recommend this company.

Very poor workmanship. Had to get Department of Fair Trading involved to resolve the issues. SGRR justified and make excuses for their terrible work. Couldn't care less attitude of roofers. Drilled through electrical cables. Did not hold to their claims on their web page. Did not replace old sarking or do new battens on the entire roof (as stated on a new roof replacement on their web site) old sarking left in tatters and flaking into roof cavity. Overfilled skip bins which in turn broke all the driveway lights and left gauge marks on concrete. (SGRR made the bin company pay for the new electrical work to repair the damage, (?) New sarking left hanging down in the roof cavity as it is not attached to anything. Screws not drilled in properly, some left standing without being drilled in, many holes had to be redone and a screw installed. Big mess. Gutter guard,(which had to be removed) Ist time they put it on it had shocking joins, very visible and messy. Second attempt at installing the gutter Gard they did not clean out gutters before installing. Had to have it removed again. Flashings not correct and not installed correctly. Lots of water in the kitchen after rain fall which in turn blew up my range hood and cooktop - did not offer us any compensation for replacement of either items. We then had more rain in through a bay window. On SGRR advise we had to have two more down pipes installed at a further cost of $2K. They would not do the job "to busy" they said so got a local plumber to install them. Great job by the way.
SGRR never mentioned that the existing gutters would not take the amount of water coming off a colour bond roof. Never had this problem with the tiled roof. After installing the two new down pipes, at our expense, it still leaked. Had to get DFT involved again to get them to fix the problem and put the correct type of flashing on (The DFT had told them to do in the first place but they didn't!) then had to get painters in to fix the damage to the ceilings, more expense. You would think that as they are "gutter" installers they could have advised of this before commencing the work. They are completely unprofessional! Cost me thousands of $ extra for lawyers, roof experts (through my solicitor who found 35 counts of poor quality work and things done incorrectly) and roof plumber, builders & painters to fix things. Caused extreme unnecessary anxiety. Has taken 11 months to get "some" satisfaction through a work order. Had new flashing installed last week (11/4/2019) so waiting now, for rain, to see if the roof still leaks!!! Also take note that most of the 5 star ratings are NOT verified.
July 26th 2019 Update: shocking - terrible -untrustworthy.
In discussions before work commenced I wanted several necessary things to be included. "Yes" they said to my directions but come the time for the work to be done they denied every having said it and did not do any of the stated thing. Even though it was included in their advertising on their web. Shocking to deal with.

As they lifted the ridges they advised that some of the initially scoped work was unnecessary as sections had been done well. Thus, we got our roof repaired and rectified of the seriously shonky work which was done previously. It was also reduced by a good amount for not requiring a part of the initially scoped work.
To date, every time we have had tradesmen for anything they have always left us with a feeling of discontentment because, something was always amiss or not done properly. Not these guys!
As a side note, one of the other quotes I received for the same work one of the companies would have left us without insurance because a section of our roof would not have been industry compliant.
I have also recommended them to my best friend to get her roof by these guys - THUMBS UP!

Following a meeting with the Director of Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration the concerns and issues we raised have now been satisfactorily resolved.
5 STARS to the company for following through with all promises.
This matter is now deemed resolved.
Our first mistake was to invite [Name removed] Area Manager of Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration Pty Ltd into our home to quote on a Roof Restoration and Gutter replacement on 30 January 2014. [Name removed] reassured us that the numerous years the company has been in business (referring to their Licence Number 66574C) speaks for itself.
My wife and I accept this as a good sign and despite receiving cheaper quotes for other contractors to do the 2 jobs separately we chose to employ Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration Pty Ltd to do both as we did not want to be in a position of a warranty claim that one contractor would blame the other but Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration Pty Ltd sub-contracted the work to [Name removed] from Sublime Roof Restoration and [Name removed] from The Guttershop.
We had a leak in our garage and needed the roof fixed prior to repairing the ceiling.
The job was eventually done and despite countless call backs for poor attention to detail we were initially assured by their Supervisor [Name removed] that we did not need to pay the balance until we were fully satisfied. The quality and finish of the paintwork did not leave us with any "WOW factor" - in fact quite the opposite, the paint finish is patchy and dull in places and nothing like what we expected but with every objection we had Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration seemed to have an answer for everything "It's dull because of your tiles and no matter how many coats we give it - it will not change a thing" [Name removed] told us is just one of many examples this followed constant phone calls from [Name removed] from Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration Pty Ltd for the balance of the $13,750.00 job and again reassured that they stand by their reputation and 10 year Roof Restoration guarantee.
During 2 separate storm events in Sydney our renovated home suffered water ingress in FIVE (5) separate locations.- the first in our family room in early December 2014. The water ingress was so sever that we could hear (and recorded) the rain like a bathroom shower falling on to the ceiling, we had to call the SES who arrived around midnight and quickly removed the ceiling insulation to avoid a complete ceiling collapse. Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration did not want to know about it and we were fobbed off to [Name removed] who used silicone to seal the tiles as it appeared the water ingress was a result of a poorly positioned spreader. After waiting for months for Christmas to pass and still no action - [Name removed] submitted an insurance claim with his insurer Allianz and to this day there is still no resolve from [Name removed] or Allianz. In our eyes Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration took the money - paid their sub-contractors and so it is now their problem. Finally out of pure frustration we lodged a claim with our insurer who assessed and settled the claim for the internal damage but not for the roof as according to their builder the silicon amongst other things is not building code compliant but we still paid our $300.00 excess to CommInsure and later this month hope that the builder we have employed will repair the first of 5 water leaks as we continue to battle with this organisation. A second claim has been now lodged and no doubt a second $300.00 excess will be paid by us as we try to restore our damaged home back to the renovated finish that was completed.
Sydney Gutter & Roof Restoration have not at any time accepted any ownership or responsibility and continue to fob us off to the Roof sub-contractor [Name removed] from Sublime Roof Restoration. As for [Name removed] from The Gutteshop and Allianz they are both deafly silent despite Allianz assessing the damage several months ago and still nothing.
The above is not embellished but a true and accurate account of what we have endured and continue to endure since employing Sydney Gutter & & Roof Restoration Pty Ltd - Don't make the same mistake we did.

A year or two later I got them to replace the metal roof at the rear of my property. They quoted less than others, and did a good job. In particular, they have done good work around the chimney, which was a problematic area for leaks beforehand due to poor quality work.
The thing that stops me from giving five stars is attention to detail.
The workers left cigarette butts around my yard. This may have been OK 20 years ago, but it is not OK now.
The work on the metal roof was fine, but there was a very small amount of ancillary work on the adjoining tile roof that was barely adequate. The worker who did this left cement residue everywhere - on the tiles, on the metal roof, splashed up on the front of my house near the tap where he washed out his tools and bucket. He also dropped a chunk of tile into my sewer gully trap, which caused the sewer to overflow. Fortunately, I am the kind of person who investigates their gully trap before calling a plumber. If I had paid for a plumber to fix this I would have been really angry.
In addition, one of the workers has left a smart alec remark written on top of my air conditioning duct. It is not rude or offensive: it seems more exasperated in tone. However, it is my duct, and it is not up to contractors to leave messages for each other or write comments upon it. I imagine whoever wrote it assumed that I would never get up on the roof and see it.
