Patty's portion of my order waited 3 days to ship after the order was placed, arrived today and I could smell the samples from outside the package before opening. They were leaky.
Diane's contribution to this order was shipped about 4 days after order placement -a solitary Chergui sample - which took over a week to arrive?
More than one email to customer service regarding leaky samples and slow shipping - unanswered.
Too expensive for the lousy, or I should say NO customer service.
Never again.
I note that a number of the reviews below are similar in tone and style and, on the basis of the good service I have received over the years, I suspect that a number are authored by the same individual. The forums at Basenotes are a useful place to look for information about trusted decant services.
For those out there that have written positive reviews your full of crap.
I guess the only negative is that the prices are extremely high, but that's only to be expected.
I placed another order again today. If that one goes wrong at all, I'll return and review. P.S. I haven't been paid by The Perfumed Court to write this review. I'm just an ordinary first-time buyer who was anxious about my transaction and came out completely unscathed!
The previous order from a few months back was for a sample of Nasomatto Nuda. A week after the order was paid, I had received no order confirmation. After writing them, I received a reply some days later. Sorry, they said, we are out of stock on that item. We can send you a substitute that is similar or you can wait until we have a new supply. No offer of a refund. I had to send multiple emails before I finally received a refund. This was all troubling (who wants a substitute?... and, the Nuda was discontinued - there would be no "new supply"), but not the end of the world. I did get the refund.
Today's order is a different matter. I ordered .5ml Amouage Homage Attar. Pricey stuff. I have on hand Amouage Tribute, Al Shomoukh, and a small sample of the Homage. I know these products well, through years of use. I knew right away something was wrong - the pale yellow liquid was the consistency of water - like a regular perfume. But Homage is an attar - it is an oil, with a thick, slow-moving consistency. Not so the vial I received: (1) It is like water (2) It is pale yellow, where my original ample is thick orange (3) The scent is similar, but far less strong, and it does not last like the original sample.
It is clear to me that the Homage I received has been diluted with alcohol. I don't like losing the money on this, but much worse is the feeling of being cheated, of being led to believe I am buying a beautiful attar, and then getting a ghost.
I am sad to see Perfumed Court come to pieces like this, and will go elsewhere for samples in the future.
"Orders that have started the decanting process cannot be canceled or changed. If, while decanting your order, we discover that a product is back-ordered, you will be notified via email."
So the decanting has started. What is that, some sort of cold fusion process where atoms are split and reassembled inside a mini Hadron Collider? Is that why it takes so long? The decanting has started, but they don't know if they will have a backorder or not. I tell you what, if you're able to decant something you don't even have then you should be selling magic, not perfume.
Order shipped on 5/11. Arrived 5/18. It took half a month.
I honestly would not know if I received a fake scent or not, but the two times I've ordered I have liked what I got.
It takes them over a week to reply to a single email
It takes them over a week to ship out orders
And they charge higher prices than eBay sellers do!
But you're thinking to yourself "well, it's worth it, because I know the scent I'm getting will be authentic" --- think again.
They don't store their fragrances properly -- anything that's an EDP concentration or higher needs to be stored at around or near 50-60F or else the ingredients will start to separate and degrade.
When you get one of their decants, bring it with you to a department store and try THE SAME scent side by side -- you'll notice theirs smell different, almost immediately. The department stores have climate control systems and take care of their scents, that's why.

Guess I’m stuck with 2 bottles of perfume and won’t use this company again!

I chose this company because they were recommended by The Perfume Critic. This company has a long ebay "pedigree" and they are the ONLY company that has Clive Christian X for Women samples. X for Women sells for about $350 a bottle, so samples are really hard to find.
I purchased both X for Women and my all time favorite, First, by Van Cleef & Arpels. First is actually the one I really wanted to try.
As it turned out both of the samples needed to "breathe" as they reeked as soon as opened. However, after a day or so, they calmed down. The X for Women was the real deal, however, the First was not. It smelled old and was weak. It didn't last throughout the day.
The price for the X sample was $14 for 1 ml and for First it was $10 for .5 ml. Adding shipping for this tiny package, it was nearly $30! For this, I expect great product and service.
My issue is that despite several emails to Customer Service, they kept arguing with me about the quality of the First sample. They were also completely unresponsive until I wrote "3rd email" on the subject line.
After 4 emails with them, and their doing lots of the "it's you not us," routine, I finally told them I would add them to this site.
The bottom line is this: Be responsive to your customer; offer a replacement, refund or credit to show good faith; don't argue with the customer about the quality, if the customer doesn't like it, that's what matters; get a clue about running a business - is it really worth $10 to lose a customer and get a bad rating?
In the end, my goal is to find an online perfumery that stands behind their products even AFTER they have been sampled if it's a quality issue. Check out my review of Beautiful Perfumes, they are one of the worst. And keep an eye out for my reviews of other online perfume companies as eventually I'll find a winner...; )
