My experience of the 8 day wild rover tour was fantastic. I really enjoyed the small group experience and being able to go some places that others can’t really access. I loved the hikes and seeing a wide range of Irish environments. I loved the cycling in Killarney National park and boat ride to the Skellig islands. The accommodations each night were wonderful but I especially enjoyed the stay in Gougane Barra and the fabulous dinner that evening. Pat was a great guide, patient and giving us interesting historical information at our various sites along the way.

The service was excellent, from the pre-tour e-mails with the office staff to our guide, Edwina, who was just outstanding.

My husband and I joined Vagabond’s “Wild Irish River” tour. The tour was well organized and our tour guide was knowledgeable and committed to ensuring our group got a taste of Ireland while having a spectacular experience. Our accommodations were varied and each offered a unique opportunity to explore the local area. I would highly recommend this tour and this tour company.

Great guide and luxury vehicle- easy on/easy off small motor coach. Provided excellent customer service...before, during and after the tour!

Our driver/guide, Damien, was exceptional. He surpassed expectations in his level of service and care while educating and informing the group throughout the trip.

My husband and I took the 7-day Treasure Ireland Tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide, John, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Vagabond has put together an excellent itinerary and selected not only "gems" for us to visit but also wonderful accommodations. I highly recommend this tour and would love to take one of the other tours that Vagabond offers.

We had never been on a group tour and were very impressed by the itinerary, and tour guide, Michael. He was very knowledgeable, professional and accommodating! I know we did things and saw places with Vagabond that we would not have if we had just visited Ireland on our own. Ireland is beautiful and highly recommend Vagabond to everyone, and we plan to go again!

Our driver and guide Edel was delightful. She was always upbeat, drove that van like she had 40 years experience and kept us all engaged with her storytelling and singing.
Thankfully we only had 8 people on our tour. If all 12 seats were filled, I think I would have been more uncomfortable.

In some ways, I think the tour was oversold. We spent a lot of time travelling in the van. Not once did we do a 2.5 hour hike. Generally, we arrived at our evening destination just in time for dinner with very little time to wash up or change clothes. By the time we finished supper, it was too dark to really explore the area where we spent the night.

I was extremely disappointed that we could not take the boat to see Skellig Michael. Portmagee is not much of a town if you aren't travelling in the water. My understanding is that often the waters are too rough to risk the journey. Perhaps you should take it off the itinerary or have folks stay in a nicer town should they be stuck there for a night.

I found Ireland to be beautiful and the people beyond friendly, but I won't be having potatoes in the near future!

From first phone call with Ciara to the end of the tour with our amazing tour guide Carmel, it was a stellar experience! Every day was filled with charm, adventure, historical detail, beauty, walking through gorgeous countryside & hillsides. My favorite experiences were visiting the falconry, the sheep farm & sheep dog herding, the hiking, the bike ride through the national park. 100% recommend!!

Our guide, Aidan, was fantastic! Made everyone feel special and included. His knowledge of Ireland, it's history and of interesting facts was outstanding!

I’ve been to Ireland four times before, always choosing to rent a car and drive. This time, I didn’t want the hassle and selected the “Treasure Ireland” Driftwood Tour. The experience was a joy. Never have I seen so much and learned so much about a country in just one week. The small group size (just 12 people), the beautiful accommodations (as an interior designer, this was a “must”), and the expertise of our guide and driver, Patrick, made this return trip exceptional. I never felt rushed, and loved the free time afforded us to explore, photograph, and shop. What a pleasure to leave the driving to someone else. Patrick was a walking, talking textbook, and was able to fully explain the history behind all the wonderful sites we visited. I’m planning to return as soon as I can to visit Northern Ireland. Driftwood is a perfect way to travel.

My 12 day giant Irish adventure was a tour of a lifetime. I enjoyed being active and met some new life long friends. Our guide Mark’s love of Ireland was contagious. I learned so much and he kept us entertained with his singing as well as his knowledge of Ireland. I recommend this tour to anyone who has a sense of adventure and would love to see as much of Ireland as possible in a short amount of time. It was so wonderful not to have to worry about accommodations and each place was unique.

I absolutely loved my 7-day Treasure Island tour! I initially hesitated taking a small group tour since one never knows how traveling with others will be. However, we had a great group and became good friends by the end of the trip. The tour was a great mix of learning Ireland's history, physical activity, shopping and eating great food. Our driver was excellent--Pat was a gem. He kept us entertained during the driving time, weaving intriguing stories about everything from history, battles, farming methods, crazy banchees, changlings and fairies! I will remember this trip forever! And did I mention the rainbows? Only bad thing,,, I did not find the pot of gold

Service was very good from office communications to interface with the driver/guide throughout the tour. Attention to detail on the road was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 12 day adventure around the island while exploring the wild Atlantic way, known and hidden gems with historical, political, magical and present day contexts provided by our upbeat, friendly and knowledgeable leader and guide who quickly became a friend.

The Vagabond 8 Day Wild Irish Tour was probably in the top 5 vacations we have ever taken. Our guide, Kim, was fabulous. She was knowledgeable, funny, engaging, interesting, hard working without us making it feel like it was work for her, did I say funny, etc etc???? Everything was thought out for us to perfection. We just had to follow along and join in. We got to go where most tour buses don't go and explored inner parts of Ireland that are just phenomenal. We saw beautiful sights, listened to folklore, learned so much and just had a blast.

The biggest disappointment was that we didn't go horseback riding in Sligo, even though the weather was beautiful that day and it was forecasted to be bad in Dingle (and it was). I felt the film crew's needs dictated what we did for a few days.

We had opted out of the cycling with the intentions of walking to Torc Waterfall, but that didn't happen because our van had oil issues that needed to be addressed.

We choose the Vagabond over the Driftwood tour for the added adventure, but there didn't seem to end up being much difference between the two. I felt we hiked just to hike, not necessarily to see anything spectacular. I would have rather taken the shuttle into the castle at Glenveagh so we would have had time to take and enjoy the trail above the castle. Others were disappointed they didn't get inside a kept up castle. And, no, while it was a fine place to stay, the Abbeyglen isn't a quality Irish Castle as described in your itinerary:)

We missed a few more things when the van was stuck for a couple hours. That was a stressful situation for our guide, Tim.

There was never enough time to give most of the activities justice, although Tim did a great job filling a half hour when we had to wait to get into our Bushmills tour. I think you could stay at the same hotel the last two nights. One night stays get really tiring!

On the airplane home, I chatted with Danny Diamond, an Irish musician. I expressed how I was disappointed in how late the pub music started in Ireland, because with all the early starts, it was tough to stay out and enjoy the music. He suggested that Vagabond hire local musicians to do a music activity at one of the pub or hotel stops. I thought this was a great suggestion!

I do wonder how much disinfecting happens when the van is cleaned nightly. I have communicated with seven other tour companions, and we were all very sick almost as soon as the tour was over.

Rhys was extremely friendly, knowledgable, humorous, interesting and professional. He took great care of us and treated everyone with respect and kindness. As you know when you go on a tour of this length you get to know the guests and guide quite well and you observe them in many different environments and situations. No matter where we were or what we were doing, Rhys always maintained his upbeat professionalism. We could not have asked for a better guide or friend. This was a first class tour; one that suited my wife and I perfectly! Comfortable transportation; superior, personable and knowledgeable driver/guide.
Daily driving/touring well proportioned. Venues were interesting, delightful and diverse. Accommodations were varied, friendly, well-staffed and enjoyable.
